Project Overview
FANFIC BY "scoots2" ON FIMFICTION!!
Hello everyone! I'm Juni, n this is my new project I want to start! This fic has been my fav since 2014, n I've always wanted to fandub it! So, with some inspo from Bride of Discord, I am going to make that a reality!
What I am looking for:
- A decent mic. Please have as little background noise as possible in your recording.
- You MUST have discord and you must send your tag with your audition just in case you are casted. I will be making a discord server for the project so that is very much needed
- Acting skills. Please don't just be deadpan in your audition, and follow the guidelines I set for each line!
- Activity! If I send out announcements and deadlines, you must reply in a timely manner and get your lines/art done in that time frame. I understand that school is an issue, but if you will be so busy with school that you can't check the discord, please reconsider
And for artists:
- You must also have discord and be able to respond in a timely manner
- You will NOT be allowed to use bases. I am totally fine with referencing or tracing real life images to help with backgrounds, but bases and tracing of other people's work is NOT permitted
- Art must be fully colored and have full backgrounds. Things like shading and highlights are not needed, but are encouraged
- There will be some scenes that have blood and small amounts of violence. If you are not okay drawing that, let me know so I can assign someone else or myself for that scene
- You must be able to communicate with other artists. Not every single place in this fic has a canon design, so artists must be able to come to an agreement about how a certain place looks (I will help with this)

The narrator can have any voice, but please try to keep it semi-normal. Accents are ok as long as they aren't over the top. Try to read your lines with character, but don't be more energetic than the character voice actors.
True, but on this wet Sunday, there was little to do. The bakery section of The Sugarcube was relatively quiet on this March day, especially since a heavy downpour had started a few hours ago. The wind was blowing the rain into sheets, sweeping down the streets in downtown Canterlot, and the power lines were swaying wildly. Most people weren’t venturing out at all, and those who had were tucked away in the coffeehouse section of Sugarcube, nursing a latte and texting their friends
The bell above the shop door jingled, and a girl with lilac and white streaked hair stepped into the shop. Everything about her shrieked “expensive,” from her shoes, to her fur trimmed coat, to the crown-like hairpiece that sparkled on her head, and even the tiny dog she was carrying in her purse. None of her clothing was even slightly damp, which strongly suggested that just outside stood a chauffeur with an umbrella. As the door opened, the girls could hear snatches of conversation, including the voice of their friend Rarity:
The bell jingled again, and this time Rarity entered, carrying an umbrella with a lace pattern on it, and followed by a tall, skinny boy wearing a black raincoat and hat. He carried a large, heavy-looking black case, and so much water poured off him that he was quickly standing in the center of a puddle.
This is a voice that I would like to be as close to the original as possible. Channel your inner Weird Al and make sure to have a lot of energy when you speak. I would say listen to some of Cheese's voice lines and maybe some of Weird Al's songs to really get a feel for how he talks.
You should also be able to sing! He only sings one or two times, so you don't have to be fantastic. If you can in your audition please sing a bit with your Weird Al impression

Defensively: “Oh, no, I don’t care if it’s like a party or it is a party, I still don’t do parties. I don’t want anything to do with parties.”
Friendly: “Hi. I’m Cheese Sandwich. And I just volunteered for it, whatever it is.”
Hurriedly and melancholy: “No, no, I mean, thank you. The rain’s stopped, and I actually prefer the bus. I’ll, um—see all of you tomorrow.”
Rainbow Dash is fun, spunky, and has a lot of energy when she talks. You don't have to match her canon voice perfectly, but I would like it to be similar.
Confidently: “Well, I can’t do it. Soccer captain, I’m lined up to coach Little League—sports at CHS pretty much stop without me. We’re gonna hand Griffon Central’s tail back to them on a silver platter. [afterthought] Oh, and there’s my grades. But yeah—the Cake Festival’s gonna have to do without my awesome.”
Muttering: “Wish I had popcorn. I saw something like this in one of those Westerns Applejack made me watch.”
Nonchalantly: "So you’ve got yourself an assistant, huh? We could all use one of those, I bet.”
Rarity has a very posh way of speaking, with her Trans-Atlantic English accent. Like Rainbow Dash, her voice doesn't have to be perfectly canon, but I would like it to be close. She also says some fancy words, so please make sure you are saying them all right. Google is your friend!
Sweetly: “Isn’t it much nicer to be dry? I’m sure you’d rather be dry while you explain why you can refuse a perfectly reasonable request.”
Dramatically: “My poor hair! The sacrifices one makes for friends.”
Interrupting: “In any case, it’s become far more important than that now. There are several cake judging competitions, entertainment—it’s become a little bijou town festival. Last year they sent a travel writer from Manehattan. He did a profile of the entire town, and even mentioned the boutique. [sigh] I’m sure they would have included that photograph of me if there had only been room.”
As you all know, Applejack has a very thick Western accent, and a pretty deep voice as well. I would like her voice to be pretty similar to her canon one, as her accent is pretty easy to do.
Reassuring: “We know, darlin’, and you’re doing a great job, but the Canterlot Cake Festival’s gotten too big for any one person to manage alone. It’s not just a local thing anymore."
Sarcastic: “Huh. If I know Rarity, she’s gonna try to get someone else to volunteer.”
Explaining: “The Cake Festival really started as a way for the Cakes to promote The Sugarcube. A lot of people just came in for the coffee and hardly realized there was this whole bakery back here and that they baked everything themselves.”
Sunset Shimmer is elusive and doesn't take any shit. She needs a VA who can sound done with everyone's shit half the time. I would like her voice to be similar to canon, but it doesn't have to be perfect.
Angrily: “Don’t touch that! They’re not from this library. And I don’t know what happens if you touch one... I’m saying that in a friendly way, right?”
Interrogatively: “I’ll consider it, but on one condition. You will actually come here for tutoring sessions. You needn’t come every day, though it must be at least twice a week. I will expect to tutor you and for you to do your homework. I will stretch the truth, but I will not lie—not for you, anyway—and if something happens, I am going to deny all knowledge of it.
Murmuring: "Friendship lessons, friendship lessons... I suppose this will count as a friendship lesson. And there’s no reason I can’t learn something she doesn’t know, is there? It’s all friendly competition. [To everyone] And now, if you’ll excuse me, I need some lunch.”
You really need to have a lot of energy for this part. I would like her voice to be similar to canon, but it doesn't have to be perfect.
NOTE: Trixie will not be in the first episode!
Angrily, but with grandeur: “Who is so ignorant as to challenge the magical ability of the Great and Powerful Trixie?”
Pouting: “You’re doing this to thwart Trixie... you’re doing this because you think Trixie’s act is terrible..."
Triumphantly: “AHA! The Great and Powerful Trixie has fixed everything!”
Though a small role, I think she has enough lines to have her own audition role. She is very full of herself, and often talks down to others. I would like something similar to her canon voice, but it doesn't have to be perfect.
NOTE: Lightning Dust does NOT show up in the first episode!
Backhandedly: “Yeah, it’s too bad you didn’t have the right kind of backup, but it’s not your fault. It’s not as though you’re in an elite program anymore.”
Defensively: “Whoa, whoa, whoa! That was a compliment! You’ve done some amazing things at CHS. You must be a great captain.”
With nostalgia: “We miss you at Cloudsdale Prep. I miss you. Best competitor ever. I swear I’m going soft without you keeping me on my toes.”
Luna has a deep, mature voice that can be booming when upset. I would like her voice to be similar to canon, but it doesn't have to be perfect.
NOTE: Luna does not show up until episode 8. However, she has enough lines to warrant her own role
Furiously: “That’s enough. You and Miss Pie had no business being here at this hour. You in particular are not permitted to engage in any non-academic activities whatsoever. There is no possible excuse for this."
Angrily: “The keys are not ‘Dashie’s.’ They belong to the school. [softer] You probably won’t be able to give the keys back tomorrow. They are perfectly safe with me.”
Disappointingly: “I will lock and secure everything. I suggest you go to the hospital immediately. And Mr. Sandwich—my office. Monday. You’ll have plenty of time to explain yourself then. In the meantime, I will be contacting your aunt.”
Flash is jocky and talks like he's straight out of a high school romcom. I would like his voice to be similar to canon, but it doesn't have to be perfect.
NOTE: This role is the most minor out of all of them. He really only gets his own role because he sings. If you get this part you may also end up getting other small male roles that don't have enough lines to get a whole role.
Nervously: "Um, hi. We’re Flash in the Pan.”
Confidently: “Well, I don’t know what category you’d put it in, but it’s all original material. I wrote all of it.”
[please sing this part. I don't care about rhythm for now, I just need to hear your voice. I imagine he'd have sort of a grungy voice]
Oh, Purple Smart
You fried a hole in my heart
Oh, Purple Smart
Even though we’re far apart

You act like you’ve never seen hands
While I have enough female roles to be able to use the VA's for extra female parts, I only have 2 males, so I will need some extra male voices to do extra male lines. This includes, but is not limited to:
First Base
Big Mac
Snips
Snails
Mr. Doodle
Filthy Rich
Mr. Cake
Soarin
So, please read these lines in their voices, and maybe also do some other male voices (you can use canon lines or just say whatever you want. You may also just submit your demo reel.)
Big Mac: "Eeyup."
Snails: “Ohhhh, yeah. The amazing acts of Snips and Snails the Amazing!”
First Base: “Aw, that’s ok. My brother Flash always says everybody’s gotta be a loser sometimes. Plus, we learned a lesson, too.”
I was very inspired by "Bride of Discord" to make this, so I would like to have drawings for different scenes. So, I will need multiple artists to be able to do that.
I am fine with both digital and traditional, just please make sure your work is clean
I will need 3-5 examples of your art. Background and human art is most appreciated (I want to see how you draw humans and backgrounds).
I will not be accepting everybody but I will be accepting as many as I can
