Episode of a Horror Radio Show (MALE VOICE REQUIRED)
Project Overview
I'm building together some actors to do some narration for the episodes of my upcoming horror anthology show, Midnight Myths. It will be released on YouTube in summer.
For this story, which is called Connor Canduit, I will be needing a male actor to record the story to the best of their ability. Clean, clear audio is a must along with dramatic reading. You must also be available to do a Google Hangout to discuss further if needed.
Season 1 is currently not paid, HOWEVER, if this does take off in the way I hope it will, there is an opportunity for you to come back and be paid for your work in Season 2. I would love for this to become the new Night Vale or Twilight Zone, but one you can listen to.
Connor Canduit is the tale of two brothers who work together in a toy store and how a sibling rivalry leads to darkness within the toys.
Voice Actor
The narration voice and Connor's voice (the same person) is very similar to an actor like Adam Scott or Rami Malek from Mr. Robot, think of the everyman who's just trying to get by, but he also has dark thoughts which he repeats to himself. You can put your own spin on it.
Jonas Ken Jones is a lovable goofball with a tendency to get stressed out. Think like Seth Rogen crossed with Jeff Bridges. He's very welcoming, but will get annoyed at his brother when he steps out of line.
I'm looking for an actor who can perform all three of these voices.
Line 3 in particular which is the jingle is said by Connor, you can make it "sing-song'y with a dark edge or say at is if it's something you can't get out of your head. Play around with it.
Jonas was the most passionate person I ever knew, and also the biggest egomaniac I ever knew. I loved him dearly, but I’d be lying if there were times where I said I didn’t want to punch him square in his bearded jaw.
“Little brother, how many times have I told you?” he said to me one day. “You’re working with kids, try and loosen up a bit.” (Quote is in Jonas' voice)
This is one of those times I wanted to punch him in the teeth. If I loosened up too much, I wasn’t taking my position seriously. If I was focused, I was being too uptight. He even had me sing that stupid jingle they played on the TV to advertise the Connor Canduit doll. As I muttered the lyrics to myself, it seemed like I was the only one who realized how dumb they were. I could never get the damn thing out of my head.

He’ll make it happen.
Connor can do it.
[Note: Try doing this section a few different ways, as it's mentioned twice in the story where the narrator is feeling a different emotion. Try one that's like when you're annoyed by a song but can't get the lyrics out of yourself, and then one as if you're saying it to yourself in shock.]
