Enter AETERNA : Beta Testing, a D&D Social Experiment.

As the name suggests, Enter AETERNA: Beta Testing is a social experiment that will work as follows:

While there are the Main Players/Party, the world around them is usually controlled by the Dungeon Master (DM). But what if the characters and creatures stemmed from different minds. What if every random town person truly doesn't know what will happen to them in mere moments. In this experiment most NPC are played by various people, who will each be individually informed on what they do or don't know. Every character has their own agenda, ideas, and history that each is concerned of.

THINGS TO NOTE

• Everything is subject to change. Everything. (Although it generally won't)

• Anyone is accepted. (Depending on your actions outside of your role, you may be removed from the project)

• All dead or removed Characters will still be allowed to remain. Even if you are essentially, no longer part of the ongoing project, you may act as a viewer, join in the next wave, or even directly ask a project admin to be recasted in another role (yes, people who are already in have a better shot at staying in). Even if you don't want to have a role, you can still be a part of polls to make various decisions.

• This is a homebrew. I figured it was obvious, but in case you couldn't tell this is a homebrew with homebrew elements. Not only that, but it is also a slightly simplified version of 5e. So if anything is strange, wrong, or otherwise different from actual D&D, that is likely the reason. However, there is no problem with asking about it, so feel free to ask about details you don't understand or feel is incorrect even in the homebrews rules.

• This is not public. While there is nothing against sharing details on it, this will not be posted as a podcast, video, book, ect. While that may change later, that is currently not the case and likely won't be the case for the entirety of this campaign. Although, if this project gets fully "finished" then the main project will actually start (hence why there's "Beta Testing" in the name. That's kinda what this is).

• What happens at the table, stays at the table. If your character is racist sexist, or otherwise rude, you may be removed format the project. Keep conduct outside of character civilized.

• NSFW. This campaign will depict scenes of immense gore and heavy themes. While r*pe and other disturbing sexual content may be mentioned, to avoid more things to worry about, they will not be delved into and will more often than not, NOT be a valid option available to characters.

• Profanity. While the NSFW should already cover this, it's important to know that profanity will be a near constant and accepted thing.

• Age requirement. While we are accepting even young ish minors, please make fully aware that you are to some staff member of at least a 3 year range, as well as some form of parental confirmation. This is not necessary for anyone over the age of 16, although, still let a staff member know that you are under the legal adult age within your area. If you are uncomfortable with this, we ask that you do not participate (I don't really want to be arrested because you don't want to share but also do stupid stuff). Tldr:

  9 and under - sorry kid, you shouldn't be ANYWHERE NERE HERE!

  10-15 - You need to let a staff member know either your exact age or a 3 year range, as well as show some form of parental consent.

  16-17+ - You need let a staff member know either your exact age or a 3 year range.

  Legally and Adult - Hey there....there's no requirements, just don't be a pedophile, I don't need scandals in my life.

• Assets. For the most part, all songs will be copyright (hence why this isn't going public) and some images may be ai generated, although we will try to avoid that.

Now onto what to expect of the roles...

Main Story Linked Characters

These characters will be most heavily involved, while main villains may not appear so often to the players, they may choose to do various things to affect not just the party's journey, but as well as many of the other characters. As for more involved characters, you may be introduced many times, possibly even joining the main party for some time. Overall, they are characters of great story importance that may or may not appear often.

Side Characters

These characters will act as fillers. While they may have some importance to the story, they ultimately are expendable or unimportant. Some may end up as townsfolk, others as henchmen, at the end of the day you likely won't be remembered. While you aren't important now, everything is subject to change, depending on how things go, side characters may end up as main characters as time goes on, or monsters, if tragedy strikes.

Monsters/Creatures

Various monsters and beasts encountered throughout the campaign. To be honest with you, most of your time is just gonna end up doing some form of Monster sim. Whatever creature you are now, may change depending on what you do. One day the party leaves you alive because they're to lazy to kill you, the next, your the reason they almost tk. In a way, you're always active, in others, you're never active. It's about perspective at the end of the day.

Admins

The game devs monitoring AETERNA. Admins will often find themselves more as... Well... As devs. As an admin, you may be able to choose to patch, add, or edit certain aspects of the campaign. Some may end up as viewers of the campaign, others may find themselves as corrupt adversaries of the main party.
