Project Overview
In need of a backup voice actor for the character Yuu Usami.
This project is a fan dub and motion comic edit dedicated to the romance slice-of-life series ‘Hitomi-chan Is Shy With Strangers’ (’Hitomi-chan wa Hitomishiri’) written and illustrated by Natsumi, Chorisuke. **This specific project will mainly focus on giving the main characters (Hitomi and Yuu) voices of their own years after the manga’s initial publication. The plan is to dub over 4-5 of the first few chapters of the manga. Manga panels from the series will be edited into a motion comic format with the plan to animate several panels and actions.
If you’re unfamiliar with the series ‘Hitomi-chan Is Shy With Strangers’ I’ll give you a quick rundown. The series focuses on the main character Hitomi Takano, she’s a first-year student who struggles socially due to her intimidating appearance and overall lack of social skills. She then meets Usami Yuu, an upperclassman to her who decides to help and befriend Hitomi. Together, Hitomi learns to overcome her social anxiety and slowly shows more and more people in her school just how much of a sweet girl she is. As the both of them get to know each other more and more as the series progresses, they grow close — so close that they may start becoming more than “just friends”.
This is strictly a passion project dedicated to the series. There will never be plans to profit from this project. This also means that it is unpaid as well. I’m very sorry to those who’ve come here expecting payment for their skills.
RequirementsDue to this project being unpaid, I won’t have high standards and expectations for you as a voice actor. But the least I expect is effort and passion put into voicing the role you’ve chosen. Thank you.

- At least several weeks of experience doing voice work
- Good Microphone Quality
- Minimal Background Noise
- Professional Recording Setup Not Required (You can use your phone if you want lol)
- Your recordings must not contain excessive peaking/clipping
- Some roles require heavy amounts of expression and emotion (i.e. shouting, yelling, exaggerated reactions, etc. all that anime stuff)
- Ability to be available and easy to reach out to (Discord, email, etc.)

Final ThoughtsI’ve been a big fan of this series and I’ve always wondered when there would be a day where many other fans and I would see Hitomi and Yuu speak and move onscreen. And one day, I figured that I would take matters into my own hands; Utilizing my own editing skills and knowledge of directing. I felt the need that now was a good time to put together something that a community of fans can hold high for the manga we love. Especially with the soon-coming release of the 100th chapter of the manga. If you’ve read this far, thanks. I appreciate it. I hope to work with you soon.

Yuu Usami is a 16-year-old upperclassman of Hitomi's. He's a rather outgoing and thoughtful person, caring deeply about his friends. He's friendly and confident but rather reserved in most situations simply enjoying being present in the moment. When faced with a challenge, he refuses to back down. Even if it's one above his physical capabilities (That doesn't mean he sounds like Deku though he's chill) He's rather short and is a lot less athletic compared to Hitomi. That never stops the guy though 😎
Must have good sound quality when recording with minimal background noise.

(Casual (Context: Internal dialogue after getting to know Hitomi's true innocent nature)): I thought she was scary at first but… She seems kinda fun…(External Dialogue (Talking to Hitomi): Ah, well, if you want, I could show you around sometime! And uh, walk home together too! We ride the same train after all.
