Project: Pokedex — Emergency Casting Call
Hello everyone! I’m opening an emergency casting call for Project: Pokédex, a fan-made Pokémon series told through illustrated scenes, voice acting, narration, and music. This is a Kinetic Novel. Some members have unfortunately had to step away due to personal commitments, so I’m looking for substitutes or replacements for select voice acting roles, along with additional digital artists to help keep the project moving forward. I appreciate everything our previous members contributed and understand that personal life comes first.
I’m looking for people who enjoy Pokémon, are open to feedback, and can stay in touch throughout production. Please include your Discord username with your audition or application, since Discord will be our main way of communicating. You don’t need to be online constantly or reply immediately, but please check your messages regularly and respond within a reasonable amount of time. If you’re busy or need a break, a quick message is completely fine!

Now enough of my yapping gratefulness, In the next day or two I will be messaging many selected submitters on Discord to verify work and to see if everything matches my vision. Digital Artists — Emergency Casting Call
I’m looking for additional digital artists for my Pokémon fan series after my previous few artists unfortunately had to step away due to personal commitments. I understand that life comes first, and I appreciate the work they contributed. I’m now hoping to find artists who can help the project move forward!
Art Style and Roles:
I’m looking for a clean anime/Pokémon art style to be consistant with the art already made, with openings for artists who specialize in:
Characters: Human character illustrations, expressions, and poses.
Pokémon: Pokémon illustrations, expressions, and poses.
Backgrounds and environments: Locations, scenery, and settings for the series.
Multiple artists may be selected! You do not need to be able to draw all three categories. Please submit examples of your work and let me know which areas you’re interested in.
Communication and Progress:
Good communication is very important to me. I ask for progress updates on at least one or two days each week, even if it’s just a quick message or a work-in-progress sketch. Please also ask for my input and opinions throughout the process so we can make sure the artwork fits the project before moving too far ahead. (We can assigned specific check in days if you'd like)
I’m patient about how long the artwork takes. I don’t expect constant output or rushed work; I mainly need confirmation that it is being worked on. If something comes up or you need a break, please communicate that with me. When a piece has a potential due date, I’ll give you advance notice so we can discuss what is realistic and plan accordingly.
Payment:
I want to be honest that my budget is limited. I sincerely wish I could offer more, because I know artwork takes time, effort, and skill. However, I have already spent part of the project’s budget paying my previous artist, which makes it difficult to offer as much as I would like for replacement work. I completely understand if what i'm offering does not meet your rates.

Voice Actor
Maris = Mur-Ree
Age: 20s - 30s
Maris is a calm, caring, and dependable trainer who often acts as the older-sister figure of the group. As a Water-type specialist and Gym Leader, she is an experienced battler who stays composed under pressure. She is thoughtful and protective, especially toward Kael and Lyra, and often notices when her friends are struggling even when they try to hide it. Around people she trusts, she also has a playful, teasing, and occasionally sarcastic side.
Voice and Performance
I’m looking for a voice that feels warm, grounded, and reassuring, with a sense of maturity and confidence. Maris should sound approachable and natural, with enough range to bring out her gentle humor, firm battle commands, tad bit of sass, and more emotional moments.
Although she is usually composed, she isn’t emotionless. Her actress should be comfortable expressing concern, frustration, fear, and determination when the situation calls for it, especially when someone she cares about is in danger. I’m open to different interpretations of her voice, so please bring your own take to the audition!
Communication and Commitment
Good communication is very important for any role I make. Discord will be our main way of communicating, so please include your Discord username with your audition and check your messages regularly.
When I send a message about the project, I ask that you respond within a reasonable amount of time even if it’s simply to acknowledge the message and let me know when you’ll be able to look at it properly. A quick update helps me know where things stand.
I don’t expect you to be available all day or respond immediately. School, work, family, and personal well being comes first, and I want working on this series to be a comfortable and enjoyable experience. If you’re busy, need more time, or will be away for a while, please let me know so we can plan around it.
Since Maris is a recurring main character, I’m hoping to find someone interested in staying with the project over time. Please be open to direction, feedback, and occasional retakes. I’ll communicate respectfully, and give advance notice of deadlines (Tho i don't really give a deadline as i'm fine if you just complete it either way)

(Sighs but a slight chuckle in the end) “Yeah, that’s the gym for you. Don't let it fool you... water can be annoying...” (She offered her hand.) “My name's Maris.”
(Quiet, serious, Cautious) “I don’t like this… I’m worried about Lyra. What if she’s in trouble?”
