Echoes of the shapeless I: The mirror cracks (ETOS)

Project Overview

Game Title: Echoes of the ShapelessGenre: Narrative-Driven Psychological Fantasy / Action-AdventureStyle: Stylized art and animations with deep narrative focus, blending introspection and societal rebellion.

Trigger warning : this project may be triggering to those who struggle with body dysmorphia, eating d1s0rd3rs, or are sensitive to violence and/or self inflected harm.

Echoes of the Shapeless is a narrative-driven game about identity, transformation, and the cost of self-acceptance. You play as Riley, a troubled teenager with the ability to shape-shift—an ability she resents. Struggling to escape the version of herself she can’t bear to face, Riley discovers that both Earth and her true home, the Literra Empire, are unraveling under the weight of dangerous secrets.

As Riley fights to protect her loved ones and resist the manipulations of a sinister therapist, Dr. Dexter, she unwittingly opens a portal between Earth and the Literra Empire. The resulting chaos threatens not only her life but the fragile bonds she shares with her friends and sister, Thea.

What begins as a personal battle against insecurity becomes a fight for survival, as Riley faces an anti-shapeshifter cult determined to destroy her and an empire desperate to control her. Will she find the strength to reshape the world—or shatter under the weight of who she’s forced to become?

With rich characters, high-stakes action, and powerful themes of rebellion and self-discovery, Echoes of the Shapeless explores what it means to define yourself in a world that demands perfection.

Why Join Us?

This project is about more than just a game—it’s about telling a story that stays with players forever. Combining emotional intensity with deeply interactive gameplay experience. Every voice will bring depth to these unique characters, from Riley’s quiet desperation to Dr. Dexter’s chilling manipulation.

This is an indie game fueled by passion, and while we’re working within a limited budget, we’re focused on creating a polished, unforgettable experience with stunning stylized visuals, immersive sound design, and your voice at the heart of it all.

  • 🎙️ Project Update for Echoes of the Shapeless 🎮

    Hey everyone!

Thank you so much to everyone who’s auditioned so far—we’ve received some incredible submissions, and we’re genuinely excited about the talent and passion you’ve brought to the project!

    Important Update:

We’ll be assigning roles on February 13th, ahead of the original audition deadline.

    • Roles that have been filled will be officially closed.

    • Roles that are still open will remain available for auditions until the original deadline on February 20th.

So if you’re planning to audition or want to submit additional takes, there’s still time! We’re excited to see more of your amazing work as we continue building this project together. 🙌

Thank you again for your support and creativity—we can’t wait to move forward with such an awesome team!

  • Sound Designer & Side Character Voice Actors Needed!

We are currently seeking a talented Sound Designer to join our team. Please note that due to specific creative and religious preferences, we will not be including instrumental music in the project. We’re looking for someone who can create a compelling soundscape using only natural sounds and environmental audio to enhance the narrative and atmosphere of the game. The game is narrative-heavy, and we want the sound design to immerse players in its world without relying on music.

Additionally, we are still in need of voice actors for our side characters. These roles are vital for building a rich and immersive world. We’re seeking versatile performers who can bring multiple distinct side characters to life. Voice actors will be credited for all characters they portray, allowing them to showcase their range. As a special thank-you, extra credits will be given for those taking on side characters.

If you’re passionate about creating immersive audio or bringing vibrant characters to life, we’d love to hear from you!

There are still plenty of open roles, and I’m excited to hear even more interpretations of these characters! If you’ve been considering auditioning, this is your sign to go for it—your voice could be exactly what this project needs!

Thank you so much to everyone who has auditioned already, and to anyone who’s planning to submit, I can’t wait to hear your work. Let’s keep building something incredible together!
