Project Overview
Dying for Laughter is a indie animation project that takes inspiration from Lackadaisy and Hazbin Hotel, the show has a similar animation style and anthropomorphic animals, and is also a musical like Hazbin. The show starts with Sparks a junior detective ferret who can channel electricity, one night he follows his sister to an abandoned power plant and when he gets there he finds agents everywhere and his sister on the ground fatally wounded and shares one last conversation with her. With help from friends he decides to go on a investigation without the government knowing. He meets friends and people join him on the way to find out what happened to Alice and what truly is the forger stone. In this wacky world of animals with magic Sparks will become a hero alongside his friends.

Sparks is the main character. Much like Lackadaisy this world has bipedal animals and a similar art styl. Sparks can channel electricity, is a Junior detective and the leader of the Blackstone rebels, he is trying to find out what happened to his sister. He is impulsive and energetic, yet can handle his emotions and show great leadership qualities. He is a ferret. Like Hazbin Hotel this is a animated musical, singing capability will be required.

Alice Lightwood is Sparks’s older sister who dies at the beginning, kicking off the plot, she does eventually come back. She is independent, cunning, and smart, and can use a stronger lightning than Sparks. This roll will require singing but only in ensemble songs and not solos. Like Sparks she is a ferret.

Cinder is one of the leads, she is Sparks’ best friend and is the erratic one of the group. She has fire abilities and a nonchalant personality. She is supportive but has PTSD from an experience when she saw her father kill someone. She also eventually becomes Sparks love interest and like him is a ferret.

Dusky is a husky, he is the brawn of the group and is the tough guy. His ability slows him to temporarily paralyze enemies with powerful nerve strikes that send pain waves through the opponents body. He often does things just to act cool even when he strays from the truth. This role does require singing so be prepared.

Jenni is also a ferret. She has ADHD and is the chaos of the group. She is often recommending the most crazy things and has insane opinion. She def has a screw loose. She can bend metal into different machines using magic, like turning a support beam into a motorcycle. She’s like a ferret magneto. This role does require singing so be aware of that.

The other roles require singing but my gosh, Cadence the ferret sings all the time. I based him off of Stevie Wonder, he is blind but uses his ability sound waves to sense his surroundings and fight. He is very proper and wears suits everywhere along with his sunglasses which if he takes off you see your worst nightmare in his eyes. He is funny and cares for his friends. He is also a professional musician.

He is dark, extremely smart, is a skilled fighter and can create almost anything including shadow slaves, henchmen made by the forger stone. This role requires much singing. He has the ability to disorient people with his laughter.
