DNA - Mystic Maze Abyss in Wonderland Story dub

Project Overview

This is an unpaid dubbing of a side-story content section from the game Duet Night Abyss.

Warning - The story contains descriptions of violence and death.

Looking for 18+ voice actors to help me turn this story into a fully voiced one.

I offer a focused one-off project, full credits for your work, and any guidance or help from my side if need be.

Asynchronous recording, can arrange for live direction if you'll want though.

AUDITION INFO

Submit for any number of roles you feel like, please do two takes, and include your preferred method of contact.

Casting will happen within a few days after the deadline.

Once cast, there will be a full transcript of the story ready with each role marked and additional context notes where needed.

No strict deadline for the recordings, though I would ideally love to release this by early/mid June.

This project does not use AI in any capacity, nor do I support the usage of AI in creative fields.

STORY SUMMARY

You wake up in an unknown land with no memories, but are soon guided by a kindly old lady onto the path of the cyclical nature of this world. You travel dangerous lands, encounter curious individuals, both friendly and not, face death and loss - only to turn the dial back and begin the journey anew.

Armed with new knowledge and experience each cycle, you keep wandering, finding those same individuals again and again, each time trying to alter their grim fate just a little.

Sometimes the outcomes are better, often though they are not. Sometimes hopelessness strikes you, but grim determination and the light of hope keep you going through these never ending cycles.

One day, surely, you will break free and extinguish this darkness.

  • Casting and start of project

    Thanks to everyone for their submissions, starting tomorrow I'll properly go through all of them and cast every role. Don't be discouraged if you didn't get picked - every voice has roles they're best suited for, and as long as you keep putting yourself out there, you will find it.

    Once cast, I will contact everyone within the week and provide all the information needed. There will also be an optional discord server for ease of communication and progress tracking, but, again, I will accommodate whatever form of communication works best for each person to make this project move ahead as smoothly as possible.

    A bit longer than I initially thought (65 pages in the doc), but the bulk will be on me as the narrator, which I will begin recording now, and try to have as much done before the audition deadline (btw thank you all who have submitted so far, can't wait to get around to listening to them) so you will have as much information for the delivery of the story as possible, and to make completing the project smooth and quick.

A traveler within a repeating cycle of strange encounters, vicious beasts, intriguing individuals, and a constant witness to death.

He is your classic knight in shining armor - loyal, brave, capable, and also the designated dad of the group. Has a vulnerable side to him, part of that confidence is a mask, due to uncertainties that he is truly ready to lead and protect everyone.

She is very energetic, an optimist, a bit of a klutz, and very devoted to her friends. The little sister type of the group, who quickly gets along well with anyone.

Looking for a masculine voice. Can convey blunt honesty, sometimes harsh, secretly caring, emotional distress.


He carries the official duties of the order, very devoted to doing things by the book. Sometimes berates his companions, but will protect them with his life if it comes down to it. Has a side that knows some of the teachings are silly, but trusts the whole is ultimately for the good of everyone.

  • (in denial, rationalizing) Perhaps their faith faltered, and they failed the last trial. If we sweep aside these obstacles, the Sacred Lake may yet be restored!

She is the secretive wizard type. Prone to observing first, speaking later. Looks out for the others in her group in her own way. Likes to tease when the situation is light, deadly focused when things are dire.
