Looking For Voice Actors & Actresses (Don't Look Back Audiodrama)

Project Overview

Don't Look Back is a Wes Anderson style coming-of-age story set in the 1960's, during the middle of the Cold War between the USA and the USSR (Soviet Union). The two countries seem to be on the brink of nuclear war, which would bring about M.A.D (mutually assured destruction), destroying both the USA and the USSR. Nancy Albright, a sixteen year old girl decides to run away with her lifelong crush one night, determined to experience life before the governments end it. Together, the two of them travel around the USA, stumbling through numerous historical events as they experience life on their own for the first time.

Don't Look Back is set to be distributed on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Pandora, YouTube, PocketCasts, CastBox, iHeart Radio, and many other platforms.

This casting call is for supporting and background characters, the main two characters have already been cast in a previous casting call.

Disclaimer: The current cover art shown above will not be the final cover art, we have graphic artists working on the final cover art currently.

An abusive mother, often berates or attacks her son, Alan Greenwood. An American accent is necessary, but you are welcome to try different regional American accents. Keep in mind you will have to be able to convey a range of emotions in this role, so choose an accent you can be versatile in. Make sure you are able to yell or shout and are comfortable with cursing.

  • You're a child. You don't have any rights.

  • I don't know why I even bother to feed you anymore.

  • I'll bet he kidnapped her. He's not right in the head, something's always been wrong with him. I don't like to talk about it, but he's very abusive.

John Albright is the overbearing father of the rebellious Nancy Albright, a a particularly stern man who is prone to shouting. If possible, a J.K. Simmons or Bill Murray impression would be absolutely perfect for the role. Otherwise, an American accent is necessary, but you are welcome to try different regional American accents. • Rebecca, have you seen my daughter?

  • I swear, that girl will be the death of me.

  • I think our best option is to call the police, see what Accardi can do. She's got my car, so he should be able to track them down.

Nancy Albright’s mother, a devout atheist, and hopelessly bored.

  • You know that I’ve never really cared one way or the other.

  • She’ll be fine. Maybe this is what she needs, to get away from her parents and find herself. Everyone goes through that, especially at her age. Besides, it was getting expensive to pay for all the food she was devouring.

  • I don’t have time for this.

A solid JFK impression is required for this role, as we will be using both historical footage and newly recorded footage. This will be a bigger role than a simple cameo.

  • My fellow Americans, we must come together in a strenuous time.

  • There was an attempt on my life, but those bastards were stopped by a brave American citizen. I have previously said; 'Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.' This young man is the very embodiment of a true American.

  • Stay strong, and remember. We will prevail!

  • (Teacher) Settle down now, settle down. I'm afraid two of our students have run away, Ms. Abigail and Mr. Greenwood. There's no need to worry, I'm sure they'll be found and brought home in no time at all.
