INTRODUCTION
Hey! This casting call is for the second episode for my passion project Doki Doki Overload! It is a small animated comedy series based off of the game Doki Doki Literature Club that is written and animated entirely by me, with episode one releasing to youtube on December 1st, 2024 after almost 7 months of me working every day on it. DDO was made out of love for the Original game & my desire to create an animated fanseries! One of the biggest issues with DDO 1 is its lack of proper voice actors, with each of the girls being played quite terribly by a socially awkward 17 year old boy (me) so I could get the episode out before 2025. The biggest goal for DDO 2 is real voice actors as well as better & faster animation so….
…this is where you guys come in!
For DDO 2, I'm looking for 4 voice actors to voice the 4 main girls that will show up throughout the series: Sayori, Monika, Yuri, & Natsuki. For episode two, the main girls present will be Sayori, Yuri, & Monika with a small role with Natsuki (if the script allows it). This is an unpaid project, and that means that 1. I'm broke and 2. I'm not looking for or expecting anyone professional, in fact, I'd love to hear some people who are just starting their journeys like me! This could be a good way to get some experience, and while I am also very okay with pros giving these roles a go, just don't expect any monetary compensation.

DESCRIPTION (SERIES)
Doki Doki Overload is an animated web series based off of the 2017 horror game Doki Doki Literature Club! After a tired Monika is kicked out of the Debate Club, she and one of her friends Sayori decide to form a club of their own in hopes of one day taking down the Debate Club. And that club would be: The Literature Club! But before they can do that, they need to get some members. DDO follows reimagined/OC-ified versions of the DDLC cast as they try to survive 11th grade, with shenanigans happening all the way through.
The setting is San Salvado, California. Nicknamed "New Japan," it is a fictional city located in northern California that has the largest number of Japanese-Americans in the country. So much so that both Japanese and American cultures are intertwined in a way no other place has with its mix of Japanese & American architecture, traditions, and more.
EPISODE 2 PLOT (WIP)
After Sayori and Monika’s poster didn't work, the two decide to go hands on and try to convince people into joining through becoming door to door saleswomen! While Monika runs off to find new people, Sayori sets her eyes on the one who got away…. A purple haired girl named Yuri.

AUDITIONS AND DEADLINES
The audition deadline is February 1st, 2025 with those who got the roles being notified by the 3rd. The script will most likely be finished by then so expect me to send you the script on the 5th. The deadline for getting the lines in is one month from when I send them out, so March 5th if there are no issues with the script. If you do not get the lines in by that date, then I will be ready to contact your runner up, who I will choose beforehand to be the fallback VA for that character. This deadline may be extended depending on the circumstances of submissions.
WHAT TO EXPECT/FYIs
I will communicate mostly through Discord. It is where I will DM you your lines and where I will have a server where all the voice actors can interact with each other and get to know each other. I think community is important, and I would like all of the actors to talk to each other! While Discord is not a requirement, it is recommended highly for this reason.
When it comes to retaking lines, I will only ask you to do it if completely necessary. You're doing this for free, so I wont be annoying about it.
If I like someone's voice enough, I might just give them the role before the deadline!
WHAT I ASK OF YOU
For saving your lines, please have each line as a separate .mp3 or .wav file named & in order via numbers. If you want to have multiple tries at a line, please indicate using an alphabetical list (Example: sayori1.mp3, sayori1a.mp3, sayori1b.mp3).
The way you will submit your lines is through a google drive folder that i will send you the link to.
Even though this is specifically for episode two, more episodes will obviously come next. With that in mind, i ask that you stick around for future episodes to reprise your role! I might also ask for a few lines for extra things relating to the series, like a Qna and such. Just know that with any future projects, you will be paid for it.

Hey! just want to say that the submissions for DDO 2 have been AWESOME! Some of yall did REALLY good, and i'm eyeing some specific people. Its REALLY hard pick… i have 7 on the shortlist rn… one person i think is 99% gonna get the role they applied for they got that down PERFECTLY, ill announce whos getting that role on sunday probably. Theres some other people worth mentioning like someone who auditioned for two roles and both are really good…. They're prob getting one of them but idk which yet. Maybe even both idk.
ALSO for anyone voicing Natuski, she does swear A LOT and is pretty loud. 'm unsure if the people who applied for her role (except one) are comfortable with that so heads up that you will be swearing. I'm also working on the script and she says a bit more than two lines, probably gonna have 5-10 (not a lot more but just wanted to let everyone know so that they know what they're getting into)
It probably won't be until another week or two that i've made my decision with the other girls, but yeah! Like i've said before, I've just been scriptwriting and doin some other stuff. everyone's submissions are amazing & i cant wait to reveal the VA’s!!! Character Description:
Yuri is an enigma among her classmates. A very tall and shy girl, she keeps to herself and enjoys reading over anything. She likes tea, fantasy novels, and has a hobby of collecting sharp objects. She's known among her few friends as an extremely good listener who is extremely articulate with her language and writing. She speaks quietly but elegantly, although once she becomes embarrassed or flustered, she begins to stutter frantically. She is very careful and calculated with her decisions, and is usually a contrarian when it comes to dangerous and stupid ideas. She is self conscious about every part of herself, and she especially hates her strength. It is unknown why, but for some reason Yuri has Hulk-Like superhuman strength that she hates having and tries to repress, with it only really showing itself when she's mad or extremely stressed. Many students theorize that it could have something to do with her covered up right eye, which she refuses to comment on. She tries to avoid talking to people or being in social situations at all as she has trouble controlling her emotions and if she gets too excited, overwhelmed, or mad she loses herself and goes into manic or violent episodes. She wants to be a librarian when she's older and own her own cozy library somewhere.
Some other stuff about her:
She's the oldest of the group, already being 17
She is stupid tall at 6’1”
She has anxiety, ADHD, and autism. She was nonverbal until she was 9.
She is an immigrant from Russia, moving to America when she was 4 and to San Salvado when she was 13. she hides her accent out of embarrassment but it come out at times.
She was held back a grade once making her one year older than everyone else her grade. she refuses to comment on the circumstances of why to anyone
For Voice Acting:
Yuris voice should be quiet, soft, and elegant. She tends to stutter a lot when she's nervous, and i'll be sure to emphasize when she stutters. Yuri is the centerpiece for Episode 2 so expect about the same amount of lines as Sayori’s VA. IF you decide to stay on future projects, youll def be needed for things like a QnA i might do, however as of now im unsure how Yuri will fit into Episode 3 so ill let you know when we get closer to that.
The ability to of the writer to create such immersive and detailed worlds with just a pen and paper is nothing short of magical, wouldn't you agree?

Character Description:
Your local airhead! Sayori is a bubbly and energetic girl whose goal is to make everyone happy! She loves arts and crafts, her friends, and summer time. She acts like a dumb child most of the time, but it's mostly just a character she puts on because she thinks it's fun: she's actually fairly smart and can be a very cunning girl when she wants something. She wants to be an elementary school teacher when she grows up. She's in the childhood education program and spends half of her time at school helping run the school daycare. She's also a very caring person and likes to comfort people when they are down, she wants to be the shoulder you can cry on. It's been said that she gives the world's greatest hugs that can clear all ailments upon someone.

For Voice Acting:
Sayoris voice is loud, bubbly, kind, and cheerful. When she's sad, her voice goes completely monotone, as if she was soulless. You can also give her a light Japanese accent if you can do it but you don't have to if you don't want to, it's optional. Sayori is a main part of DDO 2 expect a bunch of lines, on line with Yuri.

Character Description:
Monika is a hard working and VERY tired girl. She used to be a pretty popular girl back in middle school and in freshman year, but now she's an overworked AP student who stays up all night doing work or sitting on her phone. Because of her egregious sleep schedule, she can be pretty angsty and get irritated easily, but she truly never means any of it. She’s a natural leader who ran the Debate Club in 10th grade but got booted out by her own members early into 11th. She's interested in writing literature in the form of short stories and poems, and while she tries to hide it, she is secretly obsessed with magic. She meet Sayori in freshman year but didn't talk to her much over the summer which she kinda feels bad about.
Some other things:
Took piano classes when she was younger & knows how to play it pretty well, although she's starting to forget some things.
She feels really bad about how she ends up treating others, not only because she is easily irritated due to her sleep, but also because she has a tendency to accidentally make things about herself
For Voice Acting:
She tries to speak clear and fluently but you can tell shes kinda out of it. I also imagine this Monikas voice being a bit lower/deeper than usual Monika voices due to her sleep. For an accent, maybe a slight spanish one if you can do that. I just did my normal voice for her in DDO 1 so it's really up to you how you want to do it, just look at what I said here and take it from there.

Character Description:
The Pink Menace. Natsuki is a lover of anime, baking, and being a prick. A massive jokester, she was a part of the anime club but quit after she had enough of the greasy members. She's cocky, bossy, and defensive. She acts like a delinquent and is very snappy. She loves doing crazy stuff and usually tends to cause chaos in the club. She has a big love for Manga and has a massive collection of them. She also loves baking, being in the culinary class at school and helps to work the family bakery with her mother. She loves to follow trends like stanley cups and takis, she's a staple annoying high school girl. Despite all of her cockiness and snappiness, she is very easy to fluster once you beat her at her own games.
Some more stuff:
She is openly and proudly lesbian.
Physically she is VERY weak
She has a lot of medical problems, most prominently stomach problems
Has a school friend group but they treat her poorly
Despite seeming like a massive raging asshole, she actually has a pretty big soft side but she tries to cover it up.
For Voice Acting:
Natuski is going to appear at the end for episode & will have 5-12 lines. and she has alot of swearing and shes pretty loud so if you aren’t comfortable with that then i wouldn’t recommend. What i'm looking for is a 16 year old bratty, sassy and loud girl who owned a hydro flask back in 2019.
