Doki Doki Literature Club FESTIVAL Mod Fandub


Hello everyone! This is a casting call for my next DDLC fandub. We have completed the main game which can be viewed in the link below. With OVERWHELMING requests to continue, my team and I are excited to venture in dubbing the many popular mods of the successful series! For those unfamiliar with what "Doki Doki Literature Club!" is. Here's a bio: 


"The story follows a male high school student who joins the school's literature club and interacts with its four female members. The game features a mostly linear story, with some alternative scenes and endings depending on the choices the player makes. While the game appears at first glance to be a lighthearted dating simulator, it is in fact a metafictional psychological horror game that extensively breaks the fourth wall. " ~ Wikipedia

Audition Specifications

* This is a non-paid project

*Only auditions with good audio! Any audio with background noise, pops, audio peaks will be rejected

*Having access to Discord will be heavily preferred, however not mandatory

*We will be recording for the bulk game all at once with a line deadline of 2 - 3 weeks

*Actors will be in constant contact with the project leader. Any ghosting or no-contact for over a week or 2 will be promptly recast

*Deadline will be Sunday 4/19 11:59PM CST

Final video takes about a week after all lines have been turned in. Expected release will be Mid-Late May 2020

  • Thank you all so much for audition for my Fandub of DDLC

    I want to thank you all (who are reading this) a happy thank you so much for auditioning. We only had this up for one little week and the outcome was amazing! There were so many talented people who auditioned that I had to be EXTREMELY nit picky with every single one of you. It honestly came down to audio quality and personality. For each character I added little tests to see if you could find them. The ones who passed the audio and voice tone test, immediately went into the personality test. It's no surprise that this project will be LINE INTENSIVE. So I was looking for actors who were going to put in there all even in the audition lines. This is what the industry also looks for. People who read between the lines and add in a bit of their heart with any character they auditioned for. The actors I cast I believe 100% pulled the characters off and did just that! Wallace is the main antagonist in DDLC Festival. 

Very smug and blunt. Says what he thinks. Puts on a face in front of the girls in the literature club. Hates the only other boy. Joins the literature club with an ulterior motive

  • (Blunt) You’re a teenage boy who is terrible at writing and has no interest in anything besides anime and yet you join a literature club that just happens to be full of attractive girls. Who do you think you’re fooling?

  • (Smug) Oh yea, we decided to skip it and hang out at a coffee shop to work on our poem. It was pretty much a date in my eyes, but don’t tell her I said that.

  • (reading a poem): 

    A brand new world


    I wake up from an eternal sleep

    To a bright shining sun

    Calling to me

    To join the world

Why wouldn't I name the main character after myself? 


Main speaker throughout the series, amazing audio quality is a must. LINES INTENSIFIED! 


For the main character of this project. I am looking for your generic anime teenager. Not descriptive enough? Ok that's cool. I'm looking for a medium - high pitched character type voice. Although if you're a deep speaker, do not let this discourage you from auditioning, you may be perfect too!

HELPFUL TIP: Don't just read the lines! Remember you are auditioning against others! Read BETWEEN the lines. Portray what's not said through emotion. Do not let any line go to waste. :)

Character Description: (From WIKIA) The protagonist was designed to function like a typical visual novel protagonist. He acts blunt and mean towards Sayori, his childhood friend; teases Natsuki, the tsundere; is warm to Yuri, the shy girl; and falters around Monika, the popular girl.

  • I see an annoying girl running toward me from the distance, waving her arms in the air like she’s totally oblivious to any attention she might draw to herself.


    That girl is Sayori, my neighbor and good friend since we were children.


    You know, the kind of friend you’d never see yourself making today, but it just kind of works out because you’ve known each other for so long?


    We used to walk to school together on days like this, but starting around high school she would oversleep more and more frequently, and I would get tired of waiting up.


    But if she’s going to chase after me like this, I almost feel better off running away.


    However, I just sigh and idle in front of the crosswalk and let sayori catch up to me.


  • Uhhh…


    All words escape me in this situation.


    This club…


    ...is full of incredibly cute girls!!!


  • (Traumatized) Wha...what the hell...? What the hell? Is this a nightmare? It...has to be. This isn't real. There's no way this can be real. Sayori wouldn't do this. Everything was normal up until a few days ago. That's why I can't believe what my eyes are showing me...! I suppress the urge to vomit. Just yesterday. I told Sayori I would be there for her. I told her I know what's best and that everything'll be ok. Then why...? Why would she do this...? How could I be so helpless. What did I do wrong? Confessing to her...? I shouldn't have confessed to her...That's not what Sayori needed at all. She even told me how painful it is for others to care about her. Then why did I confess to her and make her feel even worse?!

Character Description: (From WIKIA): Sayori is portrayed as a talkative person, being very cheerful and kind and the archetype of a Genki Girl. She is very clumsy and notorious for finding ways to accidentally hurt herself or to drop things, as well as tricking people just to get food. She is usually the only character, other than the protagonist, capable of breaking up arguments, and she is described as being paramount to keeping a relaxing atmosphere in the Literature Club

    Kissing my forehead to help me out of bed. 
    Making me rub the sleepy from my eyes.

    Are you trusting me to wish away a rainy day?

    Well, I’m sure that’s part of it.


    I think I understand you better than a lot of other people, you know?


    So when I read your poem…


    It’s not just a poem…


    It’s a Jay poem!


    And that makes it feel extra special!

Lines INTENSIVE

Character Description: (From Wikia) Natsuki is a brash, blunt, cranky, seemingly arrogant girl with a cute, softer interior as a result of insecurity. While she is impulsive and can speak without thinking, Natsuki truly cares about her friends and, even when she has obvious anger issues, doesn't enjoy fights or arguments with people.

Lines- INTENSIVE


Character description: (Direct from WIkia) Yuri is portrayed throughout the majority of the game as being shy, generous, polite, passionate about topics she is interested in, apologetic, very intelligent, mature, and eloquent. Despite her maturity, Yuri does argue with Natsuki over their differing opinions on writing styles. 

  • The tendrils of my hair illuminate beneath the amber glow.
    Bathing.
    It must be this one.
    The last remaining streetlight to have withstood the test of time.
    the last yet to be replaced by the sickening blue-green of the future.
    I bathe. Calm; breathing air of the present but living in the past.
    The light flickers.
    I flicker back.

  • I-I'm sorry! I spoke to much!

  • My favorites are usually novels that build deep and complex fantasy worlds.


    The level of creativity and craftsmanship behind them is amazing to me.


    And telling a good story in such a foreign world is equally impressive.

LINES - INTENSIVE...Of CoUrSe I HaVe LiNes


JUST MONIKA - Monika is noted by the other characters to be smart, beautiful, confident and athletic. She's not as talkative as the other girls, but this is implied to not be through choice.

Monika had previously been a part of the Debate Club but left due to all the inner politics and drama, highlighting a desire for order, freedom of topics and friendliness. The Literature Club, which she founded after leaving the Debate Club, is very important to her. She aspires for it to be a place to showcase and grow everyone's passion for literature. Monika openly displays care and concern for her club mates, praising each member's writing style and even comparing them to famous authors and poets.

  • Here’s Monika’s Writing Tip of the Day!


    Sometimes when you’re writing a poem-or a story-your brain get too fixated on a specific point....


    If you try so hard to make it perfect, then you’ll never make any progress.


    Just force yourself to get something down on the paper, and tidy it up later!


    Another way to think about it is this:


    If you keep your pen in the same spot for too long, you’ll just get a big dark puddle of ink.


    So just move your hand, and go with the flow!


    ...That’s my advice for today!
