DnD Podcast: Inexperience Needed!
Project Overview
Hello everyone! For a long time now, I've been wanting to create a DnD Roleplaying comedy podcast, and putting this project together has been a dream of mine for years!
Logistically, I'd like to put a group together of around 3-5 people that would be willing to play a comedy improvised roleplaying game. The time commitment would likely be a couple hours every other week to record and play. I can't imagine the series much longer than a couple months, but I'm planning on shaping the experience based on who auditions and what their availability is.
One thing I lack however, is DnD experience! I've played a couple times with my friends and know basics of the game, but I'm not much of a rule-follower and the most exciting aspect of DnD is creating a world for other people to explore in. This being the case, I definitely want to highlight a lack of experience and basic knowledge of DnD as a running gag, which I've seen can be effective for many comedy roleplaying podcasts.
I don't expect comedians or DnD professionals- just come as you are!
About me
I'm super extroverted and friendly, and I absolutely LOVE to make people laugh (and myself as well). I first got into the world of DnD podcasting with The Adventure Zone (I know, basic), but then quickly got wrapped up in the world of comedy roleplay with many other shows and fell in love. I'm an actor and comedian foremost, and I'm currently a Junior in college studying Theatre and Digital Media (PERFECT for this project, right? At least, I hope). This project is more of a way to see how much I can improve myself and have fun than anything, so the main focus will be to stretch our abilities as performers and enjoy ourselves.
Required for audition:
- Reliable internet connection (We have to be able to talk with you!)
- Good audio, XLR or good USB mic (When piecing this together, I'll require you to send me your audio of the session so I can make all of the bad audio from the call clear up and sound like we are practically talking in person)
- Minimal or No knowledge/experience on how to play (Part of the fun is learning together, and I'm not sure if it would be very fun for an experienced player to have such an inexperienced DM)
