Dirty Crestwood (Short Film)
Project Overview
Hello everybody - this is gonna be a very quick casting call! I am looking for two voices to be in an animated short. I had this story I wrote for years and have struggled at finding out how to put it out there. After going through many revisions, redesigns, variations and scrapped projects, I finally have a solid plan! In fact, it's almost done.
(I should clarify that the story is complete and the visuals for the short are already being taken care of, all I need are voice auditions!)
Brief rundown of the story :
Dirty Crestwood follows Lane Addison, a quiet teen whose obsession with his classmate spirals into delusion. After repeated rejection and ridicule from everyone around him, his fixation warps into something darker against the eerie backdrop of Crestwood Lake — a place that will begin to reflect his unraveling mind.

This story scrapes the surface of a few sensitive topics, including stalking and obsession, guilt and trauma, and death.
What I need from you! :
Very self explanatory, I will be taking auditions through the websites traditional way under the role descriptions. I do ask that you have discord, as it is easiest to send files and voice recordings through there.

Lane is a withdrawn, obsessive high-school senior who masks his instability behind a quiet, polite exterior. Beneath that calm surface, he’s a calculating stalker and psychopath with a dangerously fixated interest on his classmate. He will deliberately resort to delusion before ever accepting or even considering rejection.
Voice Direction - I'm looking for a female voice actor who can deliver a slightly raspy androgynous tone with restrained emotion. His voice carries a quiet intensity: calm, deliberate, and unnervingly controlled, even when he’s angry. Lane's tone should feel real, not cartoonish.

I really wanna be her friend, but I dont think she likes me very much.
I can discern why she won’t get close to me, even I recognize when my behavior isn’t all that rational.
I didn’t die. I don’t know how long it’s been, but it feels like time’s going by excruciatingly slowly.
Mr. Van Straaten is a supporting character and an outgoing, laid-back teacher who puts a lot of effort into overhyping his students. Despite never receiving matched energy, he never loses his optimistic charm.
Voice Direction - He has a lively, approachable tone. He speaks with an enthusiastic cadence with a slight motivational vibe. Please make sure to have his tone sound more realistic than traditional exaggerated/cartoony voice acting.

Alright, here we are, the last 5 minutes of the year, and technically the last 5 minutes of high school for you guys!
I get that you’ve probably heard it before, but humor me a little. Watching the seniors graduate never gets easier for me.
