Digimon Alternative Audiobook (Chapters 2 & 3)
Project Overview
Welcome to the Chapter 2 auditions for Digimon Alternative!
What is Digimon Alternative?
Digimon Alternative is an original Digimon story that I've been writing since last fall. The plan is to create an audiobook/radioplay of the fanfic one chapter at a time and release it on YouTube. There will not be any animation, only a still frame of art. There are currently 6 chapters published, which is almost halfway through the story.
Digimon Alternative follows a young woman named Tess. She is an introvert and complacent in her casual life. Her world is thrown for a loop when the roommate she has lived with since college admits she is engaged and plans on moving out. Before she can begin to process the change, she is transported to a Digital World on the brink of destruction. Now she has to survive in a strange new place while simultaneously looking for a way back home. Luckily, she'll find help along the way.
Recurring themes of Digimon Alternative are that people never stop changing and introspection can be helpful at any stage in our lives. I also wanted to emphasize the relationship between the Digidestined and their partner Digimon as a means for mutual growth.

Things to note:
We will use discord for communication, so please include your discord name in your audition.
Actors must be ages 18+ as this project contains mature themes (no sexual content though).
Please submit raw/unedited audio for your auditions (no audio processing: compressor, de-esser, etc)

If any profit is made from the final product, it will be distributed to the voice cast.

Upamon is an In-Training Digimon meaning they are baby and must be protected.
They have the average intelligence of a teenager but no filter for their emotions. Expect tears daily.
Their voice is childlike but not so young that they sound like a toddler. For men auditioning for the role, Upamon would be upper register; for women auditioning, they would be mid-low to medium range.

Minor Role
Patamon is a Rookie level digimon and typically one of the good guys, but a dark plague has corrupted them.
Patamon in the animated series has a high-pitch sweet, innocent, and calming voice. Since they have been corrupted, their voice is similarly innocent/unintelligent and high-pitched, but they are more aggressive: very much like a little bully.

Ganvivormon (Gahn-vee-vore-mon) is a cat nurse that floats in a giant pill and wields a healing ray gun...ya know...typical Digimon stuff.
She has a super sweet and cheery voice. Her personality is caring and very intelligent.
Think Nurse Joy but shrunk down, floating in a giant pill...and a cat.

[Business-like] "-you're not going anywhere in your current condition. Your arm was fractured, and the stab wound will reopen if you overexert yourself. Not to mention, you had a hairline fracture on your left sixth rib."

Leomon is the Jesus equivalent of the Digimon series: sacrificed for our sins (or something).
Basically he's top-quality dad material (if your dad was a hunky lion man).
He has a deep voice that ranges from calm and collected to commanding and intense.

[Solemnly but almost kingly as well: pondering his plight] "Our numbers are dwindling to the Shadefire. Those that manage to avoid the infection are often not as lucky to avoid confrontation with the afflicted."
[Intense then caring: in the heat of battle] "Listen to me! - I need you to go. Tess needs time to recover, and the little ones are still in danger. Our only hope is to get rid of the Shadefire, and I believe you may be the only ones who can. Do you hear me? - Good. - Now! Get her out of here, and let your boss do his job!"

Lead Role
Cooper is the second revealed Digi-destined. He is one of the youngest CEOs, at 25, after inheriting his father's business once he died. Cooper is a quiet intellectual...and traumatized.
He never wanted to be a CEO but never had the courage to stand up to his father.
So now, he finds himself in the digital world with no responsibilities and a second chance to do things his own way.
Cooper speaks with very clear and manicured intent. He is proper to the point of sometimes sounding cold, but he also has decades of built up trauma that he has yet to process...So expect him to break down.
His voice is medium range. He has a charming tone but is not charismatic (soothing voice and no interest in wooing people).
