(Video) Deltarune AU - Angelicast

Project Overview

About the Project

This will be a video showcasing my personal Deltarune AU, with small voice-acted scenes throughout in the style of a comic dub. Most of the scenes will be just two or three lines, but a select few will have more. Scenes range from happy and casual to emotionally heavy. It's a very personal story with occasional elusions to trauma, mainly childhood trauma, so if that might be potentially triggering for you then don't put in an audition and risk feeling uncomfortable.

This will be an unpaid project, because I'm unable to provide payment with my current financial situation. Regardless, I'm happy to get any audition, and I'm excited to see the talent showcased here!

Project Requirements

  • You must be 18 or older to audition

  • XLR microphones are preferred for this project, but a USB microphone can still be used as long as the sound quality is good. Do not use a laptop mic, phone mic, or headset.

  • Live direction can be provided if you need it.

  • You must have a verified Discord account. We will be using Discord for the main form of communication. If you are unable to be contacted or don't respond in a timely manner, you will be recast.

  • WAV Mono is the preferred file type for submitted audio.

  • You must treat other members of the project with respect. Bullying or mistreatment of any kind will forfeit your role. I want this to be a positive and fun experience for everyone involved.

Audition Requirements

  • Please record your audition with the equipment and in the space you plan to record in.

  • Do not slate.

  • Two takes in AABBCC format. No more than two takes, and please vary your takes to show off your acting range.

  • Please keep your audition raw. Do not add any effects, sound effects, or music to your audition. I need to hear how your recording space sounds naturally.

  • Only one audition per audio file, please. And only one audition per character. You may audition for multiple roles, however!

  • Please send your audition in MP3 Mono.

  • Please list the equipment you are using.

  • Please be professional regardless of the outcome of the casting. Bad attitudes will get you barred from future projects.

  • Have fun!

Thanks for taking the time to read all of this! And thanks for considering this project of mine.

Antony Tenna (Tiny Tenna)
open
Unpaid

The Character: A young version of Mr. Ant Tenna from Deltarune.  He's a plucky, enthusiastic teenage TV who's eager to entertain.  He's naturally cartoon-y and over-the-top, but he can get serious when he needs to be, especially when there's a job to do.

The Voice: I'll need a younger-sounding male teen voice.  Tiny Tenna should sound both like a cartoon character brought to life and a believable kid.  If you'd like to give him a slight transatlantic accent or a cadence close to how Toby Fox voices Tenna in Deltarune and in the Fangamer commercials, feel free!  I'm open to any interpretation.

Note:  If you think you can do both young and adult Tenna's voices, don't be afraid to try for both!

Two takes in AABBCC format is preferred.  Variations in your takes is a MUST.  Please list your equipment, and please record your audition with the equipment and in the space you plan to record in.  Make sure you read all of the project requirements before auditioning.

  • [Excited, enthusiastic] I’ll give this little lightner the best entertainment around, or my name isn’t Antony Tenna!

  • [Cheerful, but a bit nervous] Golly. It's a pleasure to meet you, sir!

  • [Concerned, gentle] It's okay, starlet. I'm here.

The Character:  He's the larger-than-life TV host with a passion for entertainment!  He's dedicated his whole existence to bringing quality programming to both his fellow darkners and his beloved lightner, and he loves what he does!  He's wacky, enthusiastic, and over-the-top, but he also knows when to be serious (and maybe intimidating if it's necessary).

The Voice:  Adult male voice with a slightly higher pitch. Adult Tenna's voice should have an even balance of goofiness and genuineness.

  • [Announcing to a crowd] Don't touch that dial, ladies and germs! The fun is just starting!

  • [Wistful, lovestruck] You're getting more beautiful by the day, my starlet.

  • [Angry, at his breaking point] How dare you. Do NOT talk about my lightner like that!

Sonny the Second

The Character: The most chill darkner in Tenna's studio. Sonny is both Tenna's assistant and a brother-figure to him, encouraging and uplifting him.  It might seem like he hasn't a care in the world, but that's only because he's good at hiding his negative feelings behind a cool persona.

The Voice: Sonny has a stereotypical teen older brother voice, almost like if a cartoon bully changed their ways and chilled out.  I'm open to him having a bit of a California surfer accent, but it's not required.

Two takes in AABBCC format is preferred.  Variations in your takes is a MUST.  Please list your equipment, and please record your audition with the equipment and in the space you plan to record in.  Make sure you read all of the project requirements before auditioning.

  • [Greeting, happy] Hey there, little bossman! You need something?

  • [Happy, with a hint of friendly sarcasm] Finally dusted yourself off enough to be seen in public, eh?

  • [Comforting, sorrowful] I'm sorry, little bossman. He couldn't tell you, because he knew you'd be upset.

Mr. Oakley Chassis

The Character:  The living room TV.  A darkner who's decades old, a little dusty, and very wise.  He's Tenna's mentor, teaching him everything he knows about entertainment, lightners, and life itself.  Oakley can seem grumpy and intimidating on the outside, especially when he's brutally honest with Tenna, but deep down he cares for his fellow darkners like a father.

The Voice:  I need an adult male voice with a bit of gruffness and some kind of city accent.  Something akin to Eddie Valiant in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Two takes in AABBCC format is preferred.  Variations in your takes is a MUST.  Please list your equipment, and please record your audition with the equipment and in the space you plan to record in.  Make sure you read all of the project requirements before auditioning.

Voice description:
  • male adult
  • [Greeting, happy] Pleasure to meet you, Antony.

  • [Brutally honest, matter of fact] Just do what you're made to do and nothing more. Otherwise, you'll just be disappointed.

  • [Wistful, almost sad] The young'n is in good hands. I'm sure of it.

Big Ray

The Character: He's the newest and biggest TV in the house.  Big Ray is loud, brash, and full of pride.  He's not afraid to flaunt his status as the new living room TV, and he doesn't care if someone doesn't like him because he's "bigger and better than anyone."

The Voice: A deep adult male voice with an attitude, similar to a villainous cartoon boss.  A Boston accent is preferred, but not completely necessary.  You have to sound big and mean, both comedic and genuinely scary.

Two takes in AABBCC format is preferred.  Variations in your takes is a MUST.  Please list your equipment, and please record your audition with the equipment and in the space you plan to record in.  Make sure you read all of the project requirements before auditioning.

Voice description:

  • [Greeting, proud] The name's Big Ray, and from now on I'm in charge. Got that, shrimp?

  • [Stand-offish, demeaning] Just play your dumb little cartoons and stay out of my way, and we'll get along just fine.

  • [Angry, but smiling like he's already won] Are you really gonna come into MY studio and tell me how to do MY job?

Winii

The Character:  She's Big Ray's assistant, but more of a glorified babysitter.  Winii (pronounced like "Winnie") is a newer video game console saddled with the task of keeping things organized while  wrangling Big Ray's attitude.  She's quiet and flat, only really emoting when she's at her breaking point.

The Voice:  Female adult.  I don't have a preference for how high or low the voice is, I'm just looking for someone that can do both emotionless and expressive without much change to their pitch.

Two takes in AABBCC format is preferred.  Variations in your takes is a MUST.  Please list your equipment, and please record your audition with the equipment and in the space you plan to record in.  Make sure you read all of the project requirements before auditioning.

Voice description:

  • [Flat, matter of fact] He's not here. You fired him yesterday, remember?

  • [Exasperated, but talking under her breath] Please stop calling me "wifey." We're not married.

  • [Scared, in shock] What happened? What happened to him!?

FRIEND
open
Unpaid

The Character:  A creature known by prophets as "The Tail of Hell."  Is it a demon?  A rogue darkner?  Nobody knows.  All that is known about it is its habit of sneaking through the shadows and preying on other darkners that are desperate for something more.  After all, everyone needs a "friend."

The Voice:  I'm looking for something sinister with a hint of playfulness.  Imagine if the Cheshire Cat was a deal-making demon.  This is a character you can really experiment with, because I'm looking more for a feeling rather than a solid voice.

Two takes in AABBCC format is preferred.  Variations in your takes is a MUST.  Please list your equipment, and please record your audition with the equipment and in the space you plan to record in.  Make sure you read all of the project requirements before auditioning.

  • [Do your best playful evil laugh. Not a "Mwa ha ha," more of a "Hmm hm hm.]

  • [Curious, scheming] How bizarre. How very...interesting.

  • [Pretending to show pity, almost mocking] What a shame it is. Wouldn't it be nice if you could do more?

Spamton G. Spamton

The Character:  The most successful Addison around, and a real [BIG SHOT].  Spamton is a smarmy, cocky salesman that likes to throw his authority around.  However, he knows he's secretly a fraud, since his success is due to the help of his  "benefactor."

The Voice:  Adult male.  I've heard a lot of different takes on Spamton's voice, so feel free to experiment with pitch and even accents!  Spamton will have his [bracket text] vocal tic, but DO NOT BREAK UP YOUR LINES.  Speak normally, and don't add any effects.

Two takes in AABBCC format is preferred.  Variations in your takes is a MUST.  Please list your equipment, and please record your audition with the equipment and in the space you plan to record in.  Make sure you read all of the project requirements before auditioning.

  • [Greeting, cocky] The name's Spamton G. Spamton. The pleasure is yours, I'm sure.

  • [Cheeky, playful] Com'on doll, don't chicken out on me now.

  • [Tired, but genuine] You're too much, angel, you know that?
