Project Overview
This project is entirely out of passion for the death note series.
This is a complete long term fan-dub project that'll have breaks being taken in-between every 2 chapters. If you don't have time for this, Please do not audition. If you're free on Sundays, You may audition.

Extras, characters that appear for a few minutes and die or other characters that don't have that big of a role. (Remember to do a different voice for each line. If you already have a role, You are allowed to audition for male extras as-well.) This role contains characters like Light's mother, Sayu Yagami, Matsuda, and Aizawa. If you want to audition for someone you think should have been listed here, please name your character in your submission.

Light Yagami (夜神月, Yagami Raito) is the main protagonist of the Death Note series. After discovering the Death Note, he decides to use it to rid the world of criminals. His killings are eventually labelled by the people living in Japan as the work of "Kira." (The voice you do during the audition should be how you interpret light sounding, But if you want to do an impression of the english voice actor, go ahead. Same goes for every other character.)
"I'm going to make the world know I'm here… that somebody is passing righteous judgement on them."
"I'm a hardworking honors student who's considered to be one of Japan's best and brightest. And I… I will become the God of this new world!!"
"Kira has become law in the world we now live. He's the one who's maintaining order. I have become justice. The only hope for mankind. Kill me? Is that really the right thing to do? Since Kira's appearance six years ago, wars have stopped, and global crime rates have been reduced by over seventy percent. But it's not enough, this world is still rotten, with too many rotten people. Somebody has to do this! And when I first got that notebook all those years ago, I knew I had to do it. No, I was the only one who could. I understood that killing people was a crime. There was no other way, the world had to be fixed! A purpose given to me! Only I could do it. Who else could have done it?! And come this far?! Would they have kept going?! The only one… who can create a new world… is me."
L (エル, Eru) is a world-renowned detective who takes on the challenge of catching the mass murderer known as Kira. In his investigation, L becomes suspicious of Light Yagami and makes it his goal to prove that Light is Kira.
"Kira is childish and he hates losing… I'm also childish and hate losing."
"Light wanted to live like a god. He didn't die like one."
"I just can't sit any other way than this. If I sit the way other people do, my reasoning ability drops by 40%"
Ryuk (リューク, Ryūku) is a Shinigami who indirectly gives Light Yagami a Death Note after becoming bored with the Shinigami Realm. In an effort to amuse himself, he steals a second Death Note and drops it into the Human World for someone to find. This Death Note is discovered by Light, who uses it in an attempt to cleanse the world of evil and injustice, satisfying Ryuk's need for entertainment.
"Humans are interesting!"
"You have lost, Light. Didn't I say in the beginning… when you die, the one who'll write your name down in a notebook will be me. That is… the deal between the Shinigami… and the first human to get their hands on the note in the human world. Once you enter the prison, I don't know when you'll die. It's annoying to wait… Your life is already over. You'll die here. Well, it was good while it lasted… We killed some boredom, didn't we? We did some various and interesting things…"
"I can understand them, because they can exchange that money for tons of apples."
Misa Amane (弥 海砂, Amane Misa) is an up-and-coming model, actress, and supporter of Kira who eventually becomes the Second Kira. After gaining a Death Note, she seeks out Kira in order to thank him for killing the man who murdered her family and to offer him her help. Having made the trade for the Shinigami Eyes, Misa learns that the identity of Kira is Light Yagami. After a meeting with Light, she decides to dedicate her life to helping Light however she can, and becomes determined to use her eyes to uncover L's real name.
"A pretend boyfriend, right? That's a good start. I'm sure you'll fall in love with me for real one day."
"I couldn't live in a world without Light."
"If Light were Kira… awesome. I've always been grateful to Kira for punishing the man who killed my parents. If Light was Kira, then I'd love him even more."
Soichiro Yagami (夜神 総一郎, Yagami Sōichirō) is Light Yagami's father, Chief of the NPA, and a police officer who initially leads the Japanese Task Force.
"Kira is evil, there’s no denying that. But lately I've been starting to think of it more like this. The real evil is the power to kill people. Someone who finds himself with that power is cursed. No matter how you use it, anything obtained by killing people can never bring true happiness."
"I'm sorry, Sachiko."
"I...I'm sorry... I couldn't kill him after all."
Rem (レム, Remu) is the Shinigami who gives Misa Amane one of the Death Notes she had. Like Ryuk, Rem possesses two Death Notes; however, Rem did not get hers through trickery. The Shinigami Gelus, who had fallen in love with Misa, sacrificed himself to kill her destined murderer. In doing so he was reduced to dust, leaving only his Death Note. Rem delivered this Death Note to Misa, since it was her life he saved.
"If you do anything that results in this girl's death, the first thing I'll do is write your name in my death note. I will kill you. I'm sure you realize that I can see her lifespan. If she happens to die before that time, I'll know it was you who killed her."
"Humans are such ugly creatures."
"Light Yagami might be as pure as Misa… he was not using the Death Note for himself, but rather he was using the notebook in order to better humanity as a whole."
