Evan is a nervous teen, struggling with social Anxiety and a huge secret. The voice needs to sound nervous and although this audition is ageless, need to have the tone of a young adult.
(speak) which they weren't that sweaty until you started worrying that they were sweaty, which made them sweaty so you put them under the hand dryer in the bathroom, but then they were still sweaty...they were just very warm now as well.
(sing) On the outside always looking in will i, ever be more than i've alway been caus i'm tap tap tapping on the glass, waving through a window, can anybody see? is anybody waving...back at me?
(sing) i never thought there'd be someone like you who would want me, so i give you 10 thousand reasons to not let me go, but if you really see me if you like me for me and nothing else, well that's all that i've wanted for longer than you could possibly know.
Zoe, sister of Connor and Evan's crush. For this i would like Zoe to have her sweat moments however overall she holds an angsty teenager tone throughoutÂ
(speak) Hey! i'm sorry about my brother i saw him push you! Evan right?...that's your name?...why are you sorry?
(sing) why should i have a heavy heart, why should i start to break in pieces? why should i go and fall apart for you?...Why should i play the grieving girl and lie saying that i miss you and that my world has gone dark with out your light?
(sing) i dont need you to sell me on reasons to want you, i don't need you to search for the proof that i should, you don't have to convince me, you don't have to be scared you're not enough. Cause what we've got going is good.
Jared, the closest thing Evan has to a friend. Jared has a goofy attitude he is the clown of the show i believe. i would like this to be shown through he tone.
(speak) Hey! Connor! Love the hair cut...very school shooter chic! ...that was a joke.
(sing) caus all that it takes is a little reinvention, it's easy to change when you give it your attention all you gotta do is just belive you can be who you want to be
(sing) And you say what you need to say, and you play who you need to play, and if somebodies in your way crutch them and leave them behind.
Alana unlike Evan is not shy to strike conversation although this is because she is lonely herself. I would like positivity with slight desperation in her tone.
(sing) does it cross your mind to be slightly sorry? do you even care that you might be wrong? was it fun? well i hope you had a blast while you dragged me along!
(improv something she would say)
Connor is a troubled teen whos suicide runs the plot. when alive his voice is troubled and vicious however the way Evan envisions him in his mind he is calming.
(speak) How did you break your arm? really is that what happened... did you fall? or did you let go?
(sing) Dear Evan Hansen we've been way to out of touch, things have been crazy and it sucks that we don't talk that much! But i should tell you think i think of you each night! i rub my nipples and start moaning with delight!
(Speak) "and who doesn't even know me"...You wrote this?! You knew i would find this!
Evan's Mom. Sweet optimistic, generally sounds very tired.
(speak) Have you been writing those letters to yourself? Dear Evan Hansen today is going to be a good day and here's why! Those letters are important hunny, they're gonna help you build your confidence!
(sing) Can we try to have an optimistic outlook? Huh? can we buck up just enough to see the world won't fall apart? maybe this year we'll decide we're not giving up before we've tried this year we'll make a new start.
(sings) so you've found the place where the grass is greener, and you jumped the fence to the other side is it good? are they giving you a world i could never provide.
Connor's Father, a stern man with a soft side, this should be shown in the change from Requiem and to break in a glove.
(Speak) He doesn't listen, look at him! he's probably high!
(sing) I gave you the world you threw it away, leaving these broken pieces behind you, everything wasted nothing to say, so i can sing no requiem.
(sing) I bought this glove a thousand years ago, for some birthday or some Christmas that has come and gone.
Connor's mother. A loving woman, she is strained and heart broken over the loss of her son. this should be shown through out.
(speak) It's your senior year Connor you are not missing the first day!...I don't want you going to school high Connor!
(sing)Â Another masterful attempt end with disaster! Pour another cup of coffee and watch it all crash and burn, it's a puzzle it's a maze i try to steer through it a million ways but each days another wrong turn!Â
(sing) I hear your voice i feel you near, with in these words i finally find you! and now that i know that you are still here, i can sing no requiem tonight.
