"Dark Matter" is a 3D sequel to the 2D "The Breath of Life" high fantasy feature animation released 2 years ago by husband and wife team. Yes, two people make these productions on a very low (non-existent) budget. We both work full time.
Although we cannot promise the success we had on the first film (62 awards at festivals around the world) we will release it to festivals first, then available for streaming on various platforms.
Going from 2D to 3D is a large leap, and the look is quite different. But the story is original, like the first. We hope to find the right talent for these small roles here, like we did on the first film! Thanks Casting Call Club!
I've enjoyed casting up until this moment. lol I'm stuck on about 6 parrots. Yes, it has come to pulling out hair deciding. The top tier in this character is painfully difficult for us... but that calls for a "well done!!"
We have two focuses on this.. the acting, and/or then the actual sound of the parrot. Please stay tuned.
But please know that if you are among the top tier and are not chosen, you are still awesome, and we love you. : )
Thank you all for sending in your auditions! My wife and I will listen once more to all of them tomorrow and make our decisions. It won't be easy for sure.

We are so grateful for your auditions! These are not traditional requests for voices, we know. So when we see/hear so many of you giving it your best, and really coming through, makes us smile. And yes.. we are laughing over here with the bird auditions. : )
Parrot that speaks some comic relief. Role has 7-10 short lines. Can you sound like a parrot/talking bird? : )
(insulted) “Little Bird! Little Bird!” – many times, he keeps flying and screaming.
“Оy, weapon lost, oooooooy…” – This phrase is repeated in several different scenes. We need different variations of this phrase, funny and dreadful.
“Oooooy” – very sad, the Leader just died.
As in this role's title, the Light Eye is a magical interface of knowledge found on a wall of an ancient temple. This eye structure has a voice that answers questions. This is where you come in! We imagine the Light Eye to have a feminine voice. In this case, perhaps a more mature, wise, mysterious voice. 1 or 2 lines.
(Said with thoughtful wisdom) The Round Chamber is not the way to balance the world. The reservoir of light was made for times of dire need.
We are in need of crowd sounds and one liners. We are seeking both female and male voices. If possible, with an asian influence to accent. If you could try to make your voice sound as if from the distance with a raised voice, that would be very helpful. Perhaps move back from the mic to keep voice audio level from clipping.
