Dangaronpa Fate's Return - Sara Matsuo Auditions
Project Overview
Danganronpa Fate's Return is a Danganronpa fan video series that has recently finished its daily life portion of chapter 2! During our work on the deadly life, the previous voice actor of Sara Matsuo had to step down from role, which is why this casting call has been opened. We aren't looking for imitations of the old voice, even though it has been added as a general reference for what we are looking for. Please put your own interpretation on the voice!
For voice acting, we're looking to have a similar amount of voice acting as the mainline Danganronpa games. The dialogue from the daily life is not voice acted and instead uses short sound clips.. Lines accompanied by CGs are to be voice acted along with class trials, which are fully voiced. All lines are accompanied by a voice direction note, and questions about how a line should be delivered are always welcome.
Our progress
The story has been set in stone with all its plot points. All character deaths have been set in stone. Cases 1-3 have been fully completed in terms of writing, and case 4 has been planned out.
The script of the project has been completed up to Chapter 3 trial.

We're looking for performances that fit the character well. Please try to showcase your strengths. While we have given out our expectations for the pitch, we are open for other pitch interpretations as long as the other intents get across. Do note that if you don't have decent microphone quality, it can hurt your chances of getting casted, even if your performance fits otherwise.
Please make sure you actually have time for the project. We try to set reasonable deadlines that you can meet, but do realize that we don't have time to wait for a month past the deadline for a few lines.
Due to Danganronpa's premise, the fan project will also be handling more mature themes. If you're sensitive to the topics the main Danganronpa series has dealt with previously, we ask you not to audition. We also ask you to not audition if you are under 16 years of age.
The deadline for the role is August 6th. We do not do precasting. As we're expecting diligence from the casted voice actor/actress, we're not accepting late entries. We are expecting the casting to be done a few days after the casting call has concluded, but the actual date may vary depending on the amount of auditions.
The project communications are on Discord. If you do not have an account and planning on auditioning, please create one. These communications will happen on a staff-only discord server. Despite not being open to the public, the amount of spoilers will be kept to a minimum.

Sara might seem a bit shy at first, but it doesn’t take long for her to show her feisty side. She is skeptical and doesn’t trust people easily. Her hot-headedness and defensiveness often land her in trouble, particularly in the trial(s). Despite not wanting to, she wears her emotions on her sleeve.
Sara’s voice should be highly emotive. While her usual tone is a bit prideful or even slightly dismissive, she goes through many emotions, especially when her views are challenged. In those moments, she can go from vulnerable to incredibly defensive very quickly. Her pitch is medium high.
