Danganronpa X: Despairful Melody (Side Character Casting)
Project Overview
2030, 16 Years after the rebuilding of the world, Tokyo has become more of a brightly lit prison than a thriving city flooding with popularity and life. The Future Foundation is still the essential government, only with more powerful roles than before, fusing with the Japanese government, they become more focused on retaining peace in Tokyo rather than achieving it. To ensure the safety of everybody in the country, their current leader enforced robots across Japan as a sort of keeper of the status quo. However, the higherups were worried with the rise in criminal activity. After the tragedy was over, Tokyo saw a rapid rise in crime, leading the higher ups in the future foundation to create units to ensure that the city stays clean, creating them to be more aggressive and accusatory, causing them to sometimes register false positives. Speaking out against the foundation isn’t advised either, often leading to one of two outcomes, the good one, the complaint gets ignored, or the ‘offender’ is arrested for treason, making Japan less and less of a functioning country. From all of this arose two rebellion organizations, Ultimate Extermination Program: An extremist organization who aims to eradicate the system of Ultimates and Hope’s Peak Academy in general. Their masked leader, known simply as the ringleader, is essentially the one behind all the violence and crime arising in Tokyo after the tragedy. The second group is known as simply: the resistance. This is the group that consists of our main sidecast. They are in a sort of grey area, going against both the future foundation, the Japanese Department of Homeland Security, and the Ultimate Extermination Program, relying on morals that go against tyranny and excessive force. As the UEP strikes more and more, the security slowly gets more tight. What started as a security measure soon becomes a flawed system with overly strict regulation. It was only when the 3 sides started clashing when it was really enforced and Tokyo became a dystopia. This series focusses more on a national issue than a worldwide one.
In the midst of all this, 16 Ultimate Students at the New Hopes Peak Academy, alongside a former Ultimate, are declared missing. Little do they know, they were forced into a recreation of the original Hopes Peak, and forced into a deadly killing game. The perpetrators are unknown, but to say that Tokyo is in utter chaos is an understatement. Can the resistance find the Ultimates before the Ultimate Extermination Program can? Or will they both be too late?

Anya is a mischievous yet sweet girl. She’s playful, and definitely clever. She is really caring, and when given the opportunity to help someone, especially someone she's close to, she will take it. Anya's mostly a selective mute, avoiding speaking due to insecurity and being bullied growing up due to her accent, instead resorting to text-to-speech on her phone. (Screenager). To make up for her lack of expressiveness through her voice, she’s expressive through body language, and just DOESN’T have ANY respect for personal space. It’s clearly not in a harmful way though. She’s just expressive and sometimes doesn’t have the confidence to speak, due to her first language being Thai. However, she is working to improve her confidence in public. This insecurity is due to a past of being picked on as a kid for her grammatical mistakes and accent in general. However, around people she's close with, she will speak gladly.
Vocal Direction: We're looking for a medium-medium high pitched voice that's both sweet and soft, yet having a hint of mischief at certain times.
Southeast Asian/Thai accent required. Strength can vary, however not to the point of it being stereotypical, but it's definitely there.
Thai/Southeast Asian VA preferred, but not required.
Pitch and Range reference: https://youtu.be/h5ZnasKS2Gc?si=tvigDRmI3sUXc8-o (I know, I know. Pretty far from her character. I just think the voice fits!)
Voice lines not in official script, but are in character to bring the most characterization out of Anya as possible.
While she has an accent, she can write, speak, and comprehend Japanese/English fluently.

(Teasing, spoken to a sibling.) "Well, well, wellll~ look who finally got a real fancy job! About time you stopped dressing like a bum. I like the suit! It really suits...you...? (Trailing off) Wait, that's- confusing."
(Fond of her home, but a little somber at the state of where she is now.) "Ugh...I miss Thailand. Go wherever you want, not shut in by this Future Foundation Curfew B.S... It's like all the power went to their head. Tokyo looks more like a prison from here..."
"W-wait. Hold up! Are you not going to tell me what-" (Anya gets brushed off, and scoffs, clearly annoyed.) "I said, HEY!" (Anya runs to block the person, progressively getting more shaky and emotional.) "I don't know what any of that was, but you're not going to just walk away after telling me it's none of my business! Given how much danger I was in, I think I have the right to know what's going on here! If you think not letting me know a thing is protecting me, you're wrong! I can't do anything to stay safe, because you WON'T TELL ME!"
