Danganronpa: Shattered Hope - A Danganronpa Fangame

Kazuko is the Ultimate Techno Musician. She’s a cheerful and passionate girl. She loves to share her music to the world, especially to those who are into the electronic genre of music. There is no one she can’t talk to without failure, as she’s dedicated to make people get to know her as much as she gets to know them, no matter how long it takes. She likes to think that everyone is an equal and no one holds higher power over others. She’s bound to become extremely flustered over flirtatious remarks, and any crushes she picks up become overly obvious. Though no one knows it, she’s also an amazing singer.

However, despite her positive attitude she shows to the public, she’s prone to show signs of having a more depressed and secluded side. Past events within her family have brought her to have sudden and uncontrolled panic attacks. Whenever she starts showing some signs, she tends to hide herself away from everyone in hopes that no one will catch her breaking down.

Kazuko absolutely adores chocolate and will do anything to receive even a speck of the stuff. She is obsessed with launchpads and has a concerning amount of knowledge about it and uses them whenever she’s making music. However, she dislikes sudden loud noises and has claustrophobia. She also doesn’t like it when there’s a lack of colour around her.

Kazuko’s voice is a little higher than the average female voice. You’ll need to be able to sound relaxed at times, other times you’ll have to sound like you’re forcing yourself to stay happy. In rare cases you’ll have to sound like you’re losing it during panic attacks.

Kannon is the Ultimate Assassin. She’s social towards everyone, allowing her to have easy going conversations with others. Being a kind girl, she’s willing to help others with any tasks if requested, and on occasions she tends to crack a joke or two towards friends in hopes of making them laugh. She’s likely to crack jokes to cheer people up. However, she does have a serious side that shows up whenever necessary, and when this happens she doesn’t take any form of joking lightly.

She has an older brother named Naoki Ayasaki and is quite protective of him. She’s only prone to become aggressive if someone were to yell at her brother. This protective side became a part of her personality, since she and her brother have grown up together with no one else. She’s also likely to assist her brother whenever possible, as she is his first pick in any assistance he requires. Though, one of her downsides is that she has an anger problem, therefore making it hard for her to cool down after becoming angered.

Kannon is a bit of a ramen addict – you’ll be able to catch her snacking on a cup of the food any time of the day. She also likes the colour blue, while disliking pink. She tends to become uncomfortable within hallways but enjoys the light.

Kannon’s voice is somewhat of a mixture of the English voices for Aoi Asahina and Kyoko Kirigiri. It should sound cool and composed but also a little cheerful at some points, and when angered should show more uncontrolled emotion.

Ginji is the Ultimate Hypnotist. He tends to play the straight man in many situations, keeping things casual so long as he’s not the one causing trouble within the group. When he is up to mischief, he makes sure that what he’s doing isn’t harmful to anyone, leaving all of his playful mishaps as harmless pranks. He used to tend to hypnotize people without their consent, and still does it on rarer occasions, but he usually means well.

His red hair earned him the nickname of “Tomato”, which he doesn’t mind having and being called by. Because of this, he now wears a t-shirt that has the words “Leader of The Tomato Army!” written on it at the front. However, he doesn’t mention anything about having an actual “Tomato Army” group, which can make the statement on his shirt seem quite misleading.

Ginji is a huge fan of eating cheesecake – its his favourite dessert and it always manages to cheer him up when he gets his hands on a slice. He also has an obvious liking towards hypnotism. If you ask him about it, he’s prone to start describing the methods of how he hypnotizes people, as well as other methods that other hypnotists he knows uses.

Ginji’s voice resembles that of a lower Kiibo. It should be smooth and relaxed.

Naoki is the Ultimate Samurai and the protagonist of the story. He’s more of a quiet, awkward boy around people he’s not familiar with, but will warm up to people and grow nicer over time. He’s most social towards close friends and his sister, Kannon, and is very polite towards everyone. He’s prone to help others in need, much like his sister. He tries his best to hide his true feelings about the people around him and attempts to keep problems involving his mental health and well being a secret.

Having a younger sister, Naoki can become very overprotective of her, more overprotective than Kannon is of him. He isn’t fond of people messing around with him, his sister or any of his close friends, and therefore will become aggressive towards people that do hurt them if needed. He’s not as quick to snap back at people as Kannon is, but packs a rather frightening punch when he does.

Naoki likes ramen just as much as his sister and will occasionally take her ramen to tease her. He also likes eating donuts, the colours green and blue, and wearing hoodies. Despite being taller than Kannon, he absolutely hates it when she calls him “small” and will tell her and other people who do to “shut up”.

Naoki’s voice is that within the baritone range. It’s not overwhelmingly deep and shouldn’t sound too scary unless angered.

Ryuu is the Ultimate Horror Novelist. He comes off as a reserved boy who tends to keep his thoughts unless he must talk to someone. He’s always tired and therefore has trouble communicating positive emotions and showing any energy. He lacks in social communication, making him awkward and nervous when talking to other people. He has a polite side and thinks of himself as an average boy within the crowd.

Whenever he’s complimented or praised by anyone, he doubts the words he’s told as he has a negative mindset. Sometimes it gets up to the point that he thinks he did something wrong. When it gets up to this point, he starts to scold himself over it. Despite his negative thoughts, he’s extremely intelligent, yet can become stubborn over an opinion he has.

Ryuu is more of an old soul than anything, having a liking towards older music and movies. He has a thing for photography, rain, and plants, and love kittens. However, he can get jumped easily by loud noises and hates getting his picture taken. He also hates having deadlines.

Ryuu’s voice should be around the average pitch, and it should be on the softer, shyer side of things.

Arata is the Ultimate Inventor. She’s rather shy and awkward when having conversations with others, but tries to be funny around people who have similar talents and interests as her. Though, she will become sassy when correcting someone, especially if said person says something is wrong when its actually right. Putting that aside, she’s a kind(ish), stuttering mess with most people.

Her past is the main reason why she developed a sort of social anxiety. She doesn’t talk about past events towards others, unless willing to share it with with close friends. Since her mother was never able to raise her, her sister did most of the caring for her as she grew up. After losing her sister in a fire within their apartment complex, she moved in with her grandma, where she started becoming a hermit within her lab.

Arata has a liking towards coding and her tool belt, which she carries around everywhere. She also loves to eat spicy food and beef, while she dislikes bitter foods. She has a large fear of fires and losing her toolbelt, and hates it when people correct her on something she knows for a fact is right.

Arata’s voice is soft and high pitched, like a mix of Chihiro and Sayaka’s. It always has the occasional shy stutter.

Dakota is the Ultimate Explorer. Putting his personality simply, he’s an all around airhead. He’s one to enjoy constant chatter just as much as he enjoys exploration, and considers meeting new people as a social adventure. Though he can become slightly clingy and loud, he always means well and would never hurt someone on purpose. He’s not one to second guess people as he always believes people are in the right, leaving him extremely vulnerable to manipulation.

Being an explorer, this has turned him into a fearless teen who’s always taking risks simply for the enjoyment of the unknown standing before him. He prefers the journey itself more than the destination, which has allowed him to grow patience. Because of his dauntlessness, however, he tends to throw himself into situations without thinking them through.

Dakota is one to find himself getting lost, sometimes on purpose even, and thus creates new routes to find his way back home. He’s also a fan of origami, and tends to collect coins. He also can be found sky gazing when he has free time, and loves marine life. However, he has a disliking towards rainy days, as it does get in the way of his adventures.

Dakota’s voice is quite similar to Adam Tell’s, with an upbeat aura to it.

Kaitlyn is the Ultimate Pianist. She tends to get lost in her thoughts, sometimes talking out loud when she meant to talk in her head. She’s not one to immediately trust others, and she sometimes feels left out due to being a transfer student from the United States. 

She’s one with a dirty sense of humor, making innuendos when it’s presented to her, but sometimes saying inappropriate things on accident. She’s slightly clingy, as she has abandonment issues along with the fear of being alone. However she puts up a facade and acts as if she’s confident, feeling as if her issues would burden the others and bring their mood down.

Even though she plays piano, she doesn’t sing, as she’s not very confident in her voice. She tends to try and take a leadership role for the most part, wanting to help guide people and be a supportive person. Having gone through her fair share of struggles, she wants to be a helpful person to those in need. Kaitlyn suffers from BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder), although takes medication to help her calm down. She can be very blunt and harsh, but it’s only because she speaks what she says.

Kaitlyn’s voice should be medium, not high pitched at all, and kind of abrasive, but still sound like a girl. It sounds like a lighter version of Sakura.

Melody is the Ultimate Show Performer. She’s cheerful and outgoing, and at times she can become loud and obnoxious. She can become overdramatic and tends to exaggerate a bunch of things. Despite being quite the extrovert, she can act shy or needy in front of others to get what she desires. She depends on people often and will throw a childish fuss if she doesn’t get what she wants.

She tends to boast and brag about herself towards everyone and is extremely egotistic. Being an attention seeker amongst the crowd, being in charge is something she seeks often. While she does attach herself to other people rather easily, she hates this part of herself because of how many times she’s been heartbroken over attaching herself to people.

Besides attention and receiving the love she wants, Melody loves to act and sing in her free time and has a liking towards drinking coffee, though she doesn’t like being lonely and being given challenges. She has HPD (Histrionic Personality Disorder) and carries around a mini-pack with two stuffed animals as to no feel alone. She’s extremely prone to alcohol abuse.

Melody’s voice is a slightly lower version of the voice of Kendall Jenner.

Kira is the Ultimate Tap Dancer. She goes out of her way to help anyone she can without be asked to do so and is extremely self conscious about her features. She hates being under pressure and can’t handle it whatsoever. She’s an expert at hiding her own feelings by masking it away with a smile, and can sometimes become childish around close friends.

As a tap dancer, she loves to dance in her free time and is very passionate about it. She tries her best not to let people’s remarks about her body frame put her down, and normally masks this feeling away and gets rid of said feelings by letting it out through dance. She loves to hang around kind people, since she finds herself being able to talk to kinder souls easier than other people.

Kira loves candy and cashews, and her favourite animals are owls and mice. She does own a pet mouse named Poppy. She hates it when others are rude towards her, friends and even strangers. She gets fidgety whenever she hears music yet can’t dance to it, and is absolutely terrified of spiders.

Kira’s voice is extremely similar to Kaede’s English dub voice. It should have a natural confidence to it in some cases.

Lyra is the Ultimate Archer. She’s by far the shyest and most awkward around others, since her character is naturally introverted, and tries her best to please people. However, she completely loses her shy character around close friends, showing a more energetic side. When bonding with someone, she becomes friendlier and will become rather loyal. She’s aware of what she wants and will try her best to achieve her wants.

She’s not able to hide her feelings very well and blushes frequently when talking. When under stress she tends to freak out a lot, and doesn’t like taking the blame, especially if it's for instances where she’s getting blamed for nothing. She never thinks before speaking, causing her to get in trouble with other people frequently. Since she’s not experienced with sharp objects, she freezes up whenever she does end up holding a knife, sword, so on.

Lyra has a liking towards sweet foods and reads in her free time. She sings on occasions as well, loves dogs and has a longing to travel at times. However, she hates when things become unfair and is scared of the dark. She fears failure as much as the dark.

Lyra’s voice is higher than the average voice and should be the softest out of the cast. At times you should be able to sound wary of what you’re saying.

Luna is the Ultimate Pacifist. She absolutely loves meeting new people and acts as the peacekeeper of the group, staying true to her talent. On occasions she can become a bit of a flirt without thinking, which can lead her to embarrassing herself with the use of terrible pick up lines. Though, on rare occasions she’s able to embarrass her friends with the bad pick up lines or by announcing that two people love each other to tease them.

She’s one to try her best to break fights up and tries her best to prevent conflicts from happening in the first place. Sometimes, to get people’s attention while they’re arguing, she shouts without thinking. On very rare occasions, she can also sound a little insane at times when she loses it and starts scolding people for arguing, though apologizes for her sudden outburst right after.

Luna has a thing for drawing and tends to doodle whenever she’s bored. She also loves listening to birds chirping in the early morning, and enjoys watching the sun rise and set each day. However, she dislikes the dark and has a slight fear of the fire.

Luna’s voice should be just underneath the average mark, and it should have a convincing sound to it.

Bukiro is the Ultimate Collector. He’s a rather aggressive person by nature and this aspect of his personality only tends to show more when people disagree with him. He prefers to work alone than with others and overall doesn’t enjoy the company of other people, especially if he finds them dumb. He’s very picky about what he collects and makes sure his collections are as neat as possible.

He is cold towards every stranger he meets and doesn’t potentially warm up to anyone that tries to befriend him, leaving him as the loner of the cast. Though he doesn’t mind being alone, on very rare occasions he’ll work with people he considers smart, but hates when others catch him working with someone else.

Bukiro likes to read older books in his free time and finds vintage items to be very interesting. He despises messy collections that he comes across, especially if it's his own collection. He also doesn’t like it when he feels that someone around him is higher up in the ranks than he is.

Bukiro’s voice, like Naoki, is within the baritone range, similar to Gundham’s voice. However, he isn’t as well-spoken or enunciated.

Ayako is the Ultimate Basketball Player. Her biggest traits are compassion and encouragement, and loves to cheer people on to make them feel better. However, she doesn’t like letting people down and on occasions can have bad tempers. When she does get mad, she’s quick to apologize to people for yelling at them and such.

She’s very cooperative and outgoing - she enjoys hanging out with other people as she finds it much more entertaining than doing things alone. She does have an overprotective side, making her the ‘mama bear’ of the group. Seeing people sad is something she never wants to face, and always tries to make them feel better as quick as possible with encouragement and praise.

Ayako loves both playing basketball and watching others play. She also loves chocolate and finds herself meeting many new people. She tends to listen to music while practicing, and loves dogs while hating cats - she owns a dog named Tadashi. She also has Kakorrhaphiophobia - the fear of feeling defeated or failure.

Ayako’s voice is similar to Marceline’s from Adventure Time. It’s smooth and at times can become quite husky.

Jiro is the Ultimate Comedian. He’s an upbeat and happy fellow, showing his friendly side to everyone he meets. Though, he has a hard time getting along with people who don’t understand or who don’t like his sense of humour, therefore making him not as friendly. He stays loyal to the friends he makes and will do his best to get back at anyone who hurts them.

He’s a big fan of Star Wars, though doesn’t announce this to a complete stranger, and will immediately agree to movie nights related to it. When he finds someone with the same interests as him, he gets along with them exceedingly quickly. His positive personality is one that’s rather infectious and can spread to others with ease.

Jiro loves dogs and has a liking towards food in general - anything he sees, he’ll happily eat. Though, he doesn’t like dark places and hates snakes. He also doesn’t like those that don’t enjoy his comedy, yet tries his best to make sure this disliking doesn’t show as to not show a negative aura.

Jiro’s voice is that of a higher pitched Togami. It’s also incredibly pleasing to the ears.

Sasuke is the Ultimate Mafia Hacker. At first glance, he can seem rather distant but is actually quite flirty, especially towards girls that don’t seem to be interested in him. He’ll most likely do this because of fun and laugh it off in hopes of becoming friends with them. He feels very insecure about being a hacker just because he knows deep inside he’s a complete nerd, so he decides to cover that nerdy side with his flirtatious ways. 

In most cases he will wait to hear everyone’s side of the story quietly and pay attention to the details, then near the end of a discussion he’ll show his point of view. Being a mafia hacker, he’s not used to trusting people so quickly and keeps his guard up. Though he might have a tough exterior, he could potentially give good advice whenever needed. He won’t be as friendly with guys that give him looks as he is with most girls.

Sasuke might seem like a loner, and might look like at some points he wants to be alone, but just having company from one person makes him feel comforted. He will most likely be seen in a computer during most of his time, if not with another person. He enjoys eating simple things, such as an apple or any type of fruit. 

Sasuke’s voice should sound not exactly deep but have a bit of a sensual tone to it. In some cases it should smooth when flirty.

The classic mascot of the game. In this fangame, Monokuma takes the form of a twelve year old boy. He looks innocent, but is much more sinister than his appearance applies. He's cocky and extremely immature, and has the classic addiction to the killing games. He's doubted by the students about his statement where he claims he's the headmaster, and is quick to prove his statement with threats towards those that doubt him. He's dramatic when accused and mocks the students regularly. While he does say that he would rip the students apart himself if he had the chance, he's bound to his rules, and therefore cannot hurt them under his own claim: he can't hurt his 'beloved students'.

He's one to make tons of bear puns and generally likes to piss off those around him. He uses his rule, 'harm against the headmaster will result in death', to his own advantage to continue aggravating the group in hopes to bring out new sides of some of the students, which he then hopes will cause disruptions amongst themselves. He has a large arrogance built int his personality and only respects those who ally with him on the side of despair.

Monokuma's voice should be more on the higher, childish side. Loud and boastful, it should have a sense of pride and power in it.
