Danganronpa: Lights, Cameras, Action!

The Host of the killing game. An androgynous person in their late thirties or early forties, with a Brooklyn-area accent that might occasionally slip through, or be consistent throughout, actor's choice.

The Host should intentionally try to come off as cold and uncaring, or even disinterested, like a cat pretending it doesn't care about the people around it. When like this, the host talks clearly and with little emotion, try to sound formal and professional, though you can decide if you'd rather go full-out formal or just enough to get the intent across (once again, your choice.)

When caught off-guard, the Brooklyn accent should be about clearer, and all sense of formality should be lost. Speak like an adult concerned about the actions a child is taking, like you see a toddler with a breakable mug you love in its hands.

Other things you can do with the voice (this is where I encourage any creativity in your audition,) is how tired or fed-up The Host might sound, you can decide if they're eager for a situation or if they're dreading/regretting having to carry out a situation, or even if The Host obfuscates a word or two by speaking them quieter, as to trick the participants of the Killing Game, or if every word is said clearly so there are no miscommunications. This killing game is *very* important to The Host, and it *must* go well, or else.

Mari Simons-Evans is an adult woman from California, raised in and around Hollywood. She is someone who has lost all eagerness and ambition, and is simply trying to get through the day- not like she's letting anyone know, as her lines should sound angry and harsh, normally. Speaking bluntly and efficiently is the status quo, though in class trials, lines spoken with extra energy should also sound optimistic, no matter the contents. Movie references should also be expected- you can occasionally improvise a reference if the mood strikes you.

As the protagonist, Mari will have a lot of dialogue- be prepared. Further, due to circumstances of the lore, being comfortable with romantic lines and dialogue will be a requirement, though the amount can be lessened for comfort. Finally, while not required, transfemme voice actors are favored to portray Mari, as the character herself is also transfemme.

Evelyn Thornspiel is a young adult woman with an affluent and bicultural upbringing, so phrases or words in German or a German accent can be expected. You may sound a bit more proper, but your words are certainly informal for a reason- you know how to get certain emotions out of people, and you plan to keep things calm.

The German accent can be forgotten, but the role will come with some romantic lines (the amount can be completely minimal upon request), but you will have a lot of lines as a whole, as you will be taking on the role of assistant. Don't let yourself sound like you're the assistant, speak with confidence still. The world's a game, and you're the Ace Game Mistress for a reason.

Yuuchi Daniels is an adult person from Illinois, though lacks any strong accent- feel free to slip bits and pieces of an accent in. Yuuchi will speak clearly and confidently, with an almost regal tone. Speak like money is no object, and you don't see danger or threats coming your way, no matter how obvious they are.

Yuuchi will have moments where you may have to be louder, or speak in harsh tones. Speaking with confidence is a key part of the role- never speak without being confident on what you're saying and doing.

Nova Chirp is a young adult woman from Texas. She should sound nice and kind, and keep a thicker Texan accent. Any variation of an accent is acceptable, so long as it is from Texas- meaning regional accents are preferred over the stereotypical accent associated with the region.

Nova will have moments where she will speak softly, tap her nails, and smack her lips- actions associated with her talent as the Ace ASMRtist. Enthusiasm for ASMR is not necessary, but a willingness to preform these acts are.

Lizzie Fountain is a young adult woman with a monotone, and semi-deep voice, who speaks before thinking, and switches between not really caring what she says, or trying to say it with as much venom as you can muster. Your wit is quick, so performance on these lines are important. Lizzie may also have a slight rural Floridian accent.

Also, if you'd like, when being particularly sarcastic or witty, you may try to speak any words or the whole thing in a French accent—the quality or authenticity of the accent is up to your entire discretion.

Lucky is a 21 year old, non-binary American with a muffled voice due to wearing a mask, and frequently holds a braggy tone, or laughs at their own jokes.

Lucky is someone who is best described as cocky. Life's a game, and they've basically already won it, so nothing is ever taken too terribly serious. Lucky laughs at their own jokes, tries to tease and provoke others for their own fun, and speaks loudly, with their chest. In the rare moments they're serious about anything, they speak in a bit of a whisper, and drop their courage and cockiness, trying to calm whatever is happening by talking softly and sweetly. Kindness isn't uncommon for Lucky, but it often comes in the form of teasing or lightly bullying others.

Echo Igean is a 20 year old non-binary Japanese immigrant, who speaks in a small volume, and like they're always walking on nails- too afraid to speak ill of the dead or living.

Echo should sound sad, morose even. You are expecting to be beaten with hammers with every word- mostly metaphorically. You take care with your word selection, you want to show yourself off poorly, and everyone else in the best of lights. You survive by not being a threat or a big presence- keep that in mind when voicing. Speak at a normal volume, though.

Eliott Sheppard is a 22 year old male Californian with a deep and classy voice, sort of like someone who's trying to sound like they're better than you just by the manner in which he speaks.

Eliott tries to present himself as rich and classy, and sees only those in that level of wealth and status as an equal. He speaks slower and condescendingly, or verbosely and dramatically just to show off and flaunt that he's better than you. When angry, his voice is stern and firm, and he sounds ready to hit someone with his staff. When caught off-guard, he speaks far more blunt and with common vernacular.

Nick Weaver is a 19 year old Midwestern American, who speaks like all the world's a stage, and he's trying to impress you and attract your attention with his enthusiasm and flare. Nick is the Ultimate Illusionist.

Nick is happy to be alive, and especially to be interacting with people! He wants to see them excited, entertained, he wants smiles on faces and stars in their eyes. So, speak with enthusiasm and zeal, let your excitement fly and use a theatrical voice to gather the attention of those around you, and invest them in whatever it is you're saying.

Henry Kennedy is a young adult man from California, and who originally comes off as formal as an ironed shirt. He should be pleasant, kind, and have a careful tone and word choice.

That's a facade, kind of. In the end, you care about nothing, even your own life to an extent. If you have no reason to preform, chaos is the next thing that brings you some joy, so you'll intentionally mess up someone or ragebait. Your emotions can sound as fake as desired.

Now, you will have a lot of lines as the antagonist of the story, though you are not evil- just retaliating. Expect a fair amount of work. Also, transmasculine voice actors are encouraged to audition, but are not mandatory, to properly represent Henry.

Andrey Isayev is many things— hyper and far too knowledgeable are the best adjectives to describe him. He comes off as a very eager person overall. To match this, his voice should sound happy, excited, and maybe a bit louder than he should be. Optimistic is also a good way to describe the voice.

Prepare to talk a lot over the course of the story. Also, while Andrey was raised primarily in New Mexico and California, you do not need to have any distinct accent when voicing Andrey.
