Casting Call For The Crew Of Danganronpa Entropy
Project Overview
Hello everyone! Before I go into the casting call, I have a disclaimer I would like to add.
The Danganronpa series features scenes containing blood and gore, partial nudity & profane language.
WHAT *IS* DANGANRONPA?
Danganronpa is a visual novel game (a largely text based, dialogue-heavy action game). Its premise revolves an elite high school, know as Hopes Peak Academy, which every year selects "Ultimate" students [talented high school students who are at the top of their field] and one student randomly selected by lottery, deemed the "Ultimate Lucky Student". Its gameplay is divided into 2 parts: School Life & Class Trials, with the School Life portion being split into a regular visual novel style where the main character explores the facility they are trapped in, talks to the other students and move the story along & Free Time where players can choose to interact with a certain character still alive at that point in the story and interact with them and obtain a certain skill that can help you in the already mentioned Class Trials. School Life is divided into 2 sections: Daily Life(story progression phase) & Deadly Life (where students must search for evidence relating to a murder that had happened in that chapter). The Class Trial phase is the main gameplay mode of the series, where the remaining students discuss amongst themselves on who the culprit is. This phase consists of various mini games, the most common one being the Nonstop Debate. In this mode the characters automatically the murder case and the players job is to spot the contradictions in their statements and shoot them down whit the matching Truth Bullets (evidence collected from the Deadly Life phase). This process is repeated for a while, with a couple of other mini games in between, until the culprit has been found and punished by being executed.
WHAT *IS* DANGANRONPA ENTROPY?
Danganronpa Entropy is fan series (a fangame to be precise) that is at its beginning phases of creation. It will be set in a alternate universe and the plot will not revolve around the Hopes Peak Academy and Junko Enoshima plot line. It will have its own (semi) unique story & unique characters.
WHY IS DANGANRONPA ENTROPY BEING CREATED?
Danganronpa Entropies purpose, along with the making a project as a hobby of sorts, is to fill in the space in the fandom where new instalments of the franchise would be. As some of choo know, Kazutaka Kodaka, creator and director of the Danganronpa games, recently left Spike Chunsoft, the company that published the Danganronpa games. Now, this doesnt necessarily mean that there will be more Danganronpa games in the future, but there is a really high chance we wont see them for quite a bit.
WHAT ARE THE ROLES WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR
Currently, the creator/s arent looking for any voice actors as no characters have been created, much less a script to the game. However, we are looking for every other role that will help with the game creation itself. Those roles are Artists, Script Writers, a Game Maker, Animators & (not as important to the games creation, but would still be decent enough to have) Music Composers.
THE ARTISTS: The artists will be split up into 3 categories: The Sprite Artists [people who make the character sprites, but this will also be divided into 3 parts: The Sketch Artist (this person makes the characters outline and design), The Colorist (this person will color the character sketch the Sketch Artist has created) & The Shader (person who shades certain parts of the bodies and clothes to make the characters seem more "real")], The CG Artist [these people will be assigned to draw in game cutscene type of pictures. Some examples of the CG art is The Nail Paint Scene from V3 or The Monokuma Theater in between Night Time and Day Time in V3] & The Background Artists [people who draw the background/scenery in the games]. To get this part I will actually need an example of your art to see if you would be a great addition to our team with the style you draw with.
THE SCRIPT WRITERS: The Script Writers, as the name implies, will be assigned with writing the game script or dialogue between the characters and in general. To get this role, I will also need examples of your writing to see if you are qualified. You can send me anything you wrote in the past or whatever you write in the present.
THE GAME MAKERS: The Game Makers will be needed to actually MAKE the game, Nothing really important needed to do to get this role in the crew unless have a visual novel maker engine [it can be any one that you own, but we will need to research a bit into your visual novel maker to see if its compatible enough]
[These final 2 roles will either not be needed (The Composers) or will be needed during the final phases of the game development (The Animators) , but would still be alright to have just in case]
THE ANIMATORS: The Animators will be needed for a soul purpose of animating executions of the murderers [maybe some little in game cutscenes *could* be animated]. To apply, you will need to send me an example of one [or more if you want] animatic to show me that you *can* animate.
THE MUSIC COMPOSERS: The Music Composers will be needed to remix some original tracks from the canon games or (if they decide to themselves) make entirely new songs for the fangame. To apply, I will simply need an example of a piece of music you have remixed/made.
