Story: Eleven of the world's most prestigious high-school students (and one graduate) who were seemingly invited to an academic banquet have been locked in an underwater death game by a mysterious figure known only as "Monosame." Forced to murder each other for an escape, will they all band together in an attempt to revolt against the mastermind who's trapped them? Or will they give in to despair?
The story mainly follows protagonist Ryo Hira, The Ultimate Diplomat. Raised by rich adoptive parents, Ryo was always blessed and considered himself so. While growing up, Ryo had always been able to de-escalate tense situations with his calm and rational tone, no matter if the severity of the situation was on a school or town-scale. Due to this, he was chosen by Japan’s national government to represent as the “Ultimate Diplomat” in attempts to assist in international affairs. While all wasn’t as it seemed, will Ryo’s historically reliable calmness help him through the despair yet to come?
Danganronpa: Dual Fates is a project that I am excited to start, as it would be my first attempt at making a Fanganronpa! While I have only just started, I do have all the essential characters and themes set for the project, as well as a written prologue, but I am hoping to have more people to help push me to really pursue this project! The main purpose of this project is to have fun, but also create a fan-made Danganronpa Visual Novel that all can enjoy, whether you have experience with Danganronpa itself or not!

This role is a main leading role, as he is the narrator for the majority of the project.
His voice is calm and he is concise with his words, however he does have times where he is very playful and nonchalant. There are certain times when his lines are very serious and intimidating/antagonistic.
(Formal, somewhat hesitant.) "Ryo. Ryo Hira. Ultimate... Diplomat."
(Stern, yet calm.) "Hey, both of you just relax a bit, alright? Now is not the time to have a fight between ourselves. We still have no idea what’s going on."
(Demanding and intimidating, but in a calm tone.) "What are you doing..? You’re letting the little brat win. She wants this out of you…"
Since she was young, Kohaku was always rough and tumble, being able to withstand more than most could at her age, or older. Along with this, her brashness and grit made her intimidating to the kids and adults around her alike. Because of this she was commonly left out of social groups, developing a future disdain of people. After she realized social careers wouldn’t work well, she decided to pursue the most harsh and demanding job imaginable, being a military commander. She is now known as one of the most demanding, wrathful, and dangerous people known to man; therefore, Japan’s government sought after her in attempts to use her for good as the “Ultimate Commander” before it got out of hand. But maybe her skills will come in handy?
This character is a lead role, being a narrator for a bit of the story.
Her voice is more brash and she's incredibly rough in tone, she has an aggression that a lot of people are scared of. However, she does have her moments of calm.
(Annoyed.) "Ugh… Kohaku Watanabe. Ultimate Commander. Are you happy now?"
(Humorous, mocking.) "Ultimate Marine Biologist, and Ultimate Marine Archaeologist? I didn’t know they allowed Ultimate Plagiarism down here."
(Hesitant, annoyed.) "Ugh, damn it... I guess you won’t be too useless to have around."
Kenji grew up relatively poor, unable to go to any sort of school or university. He began to grow jealous of those with the outlets to learn that he didn’t have, so he sought every minute detail he could glean about pretty much anything; but one thing stood out. Any sort of language arts. So he began to read as much as he could, whenever he could, whatever he could. He now knows over 60 languages and due to his accomplishment, has received recognition from Japan's government as the "Ultimate Lexicologist". Is this just what he’s been waiting for his whole life? Or is this something less hopeful?
This character is a supporting role.
His voice is fairly young sounding, sounding like he's around the age of 14 despite him being 17 years old.
(Slightly awkward, but calm.) “I'm Kenji Hasegawa. Ultimate Lexicologist. Uh… Pleased to make your acquaintance.”
(Inquisitive.) “I'm sorry to interrupt… But there's one thing I've been worrying about and I need to confirm my suspicion with someone.”
(Proud, gloating.) “No problem, it’s kind of my whole thing, haha."
Games were Masao’s whole life, video games, board games, you name it. But there was one type of game he preferred over all of them; Table-Top RPGs. It allowed him to become whoever he wanted to become, and play however he wanted. He never felt that much freedom in a game before. He played them so frequently he became renowned for his dedication to the worldbuilding and gameplay involved in them. He was sought by Japan to become a First-Time Ultimate due to his popularity, and he’s grateful for it, but he does feel like he adds up to less when compared to the rest of the Ultimates.
This is a supporting role.
Masao is very relaxed and jokey, approaching situations in a light-hearted manner, trying to support whoever he can. He does have times where he reflects on himself, and feels like he just doesn't add up.
(A little intimidated, but recovers and says it in a friendly tone.) “W-wow.. Those are some huge talents, I don’t think I’ll be able to beat those, haha. I’m Masao Koyama, Ultimate TTRPG Player.”
(Playfully gloating.) “Yep! They came at the perfect time to see me beat Rin at Scrabble… For the 3rd time."
(A bit agitated, but tries to resolve the situation calmly.) “Hey, cool it. We still don’t know what’s going on, so of course nobody’s done anything. Let’s lay off on the talent-related insults for now, alright?”
Kei was discontent with how she had lived when she was in her early teens. Tired of the same customs, traditions, food, holidays. She thought, “What’s the point of doing all of this over and over again?” So she left her home country many times to explore other cultures and their customs to relieve her boredom. Her adventures had become known due to her posting her trips on social media, and she started to gain traction. Japan’s government noticed her after she’d traveled almost the entirety of the western hemisphere. Having a well-known traveling influencer in the next group of Rising Ultimates was just too tempting, so they gave her an official invitation as the “Ultimate Xenophile”. Little did she know, it may be a while before she travels again.

Kei is very... enthusiastic to say the least. She takes pleasure in her deadly position in the death game since it's something she has never done before. She is very flamboyant, and acts a lot younger than she is. She gets on the nerves of literally everyone else.
(Excited, happy.) “I’m Kei Hirabayashi, but you can just call me Kei! I’m the world’s best tourist; Or in other words, the Ultimate Xenophile! Who are you guys?~”
(Teasing, annoying.) “What about you, Ms. Silent McGrumpy Pants?~ Do you have a name?~”
(Just plain annoying, excited.) “Wow! This reminds me of the time I went to the Great Barrier Reef! Except more UNDER the water, hehe!~”
Coming from a family of Traditional Ultimates, Yu has always had a huge name to live up to. Since she was little she was interested in following her family legacy, and her parents were incredibly supportive in her goal. While she was very well known because of her family’s history of being Japan’s Ultimate Marine Biologists, she shied away from large groups of people as to not draw attention to herself, and she never boasted about her family’s status. When she became of age, she had successfully inherited her family’s title, and became the current Ultimate Marine Biologist after she got a formal invitation to the Ultimate Banquet from Japan’s government. Will she be able to fully live up to her family’s history despite the despair she will soon face?

Yu is very quiet and shy. She speaks very calmly with a slight stutter in her words, but she's very intelligent despite sometimes struggling to get a word in edge-wise.
(Shy, apologetic.) “Y-yes, hi. I’m Yu Ono. Ultimate Marine Biologist. Sorry about… how I was acting. I-It wasn’t like me…”
(Anxious, thankful.) “O-Okay… Yeah. Thanks, Hikari.”
(Surprised, half-whisper.) “W-Wow.. What a rude puppet.”
Seemingly appearing from out of nowhere, Rin began to become very popular in her private high-school that she was recently enrolled in due to her incredibly entertaining talent of ventriloquism with her puppet Toru. After a while of doing small, local to the school non-profit puppet shows, Rin began to start gaining popularity in spaces outside of her school. Fellow students and faculty of her school had recommended to her that she begin to perform for actual money. While Rin was originally opposed to this, she eventually gave in and began to perform to public audiences and she loved it. Eventually, she was even acknowledged as the Rising Ultimate Ventriloquist by the government of Japan, and was formally invited to the Ultimate Banquet. She was surprised, but excited by this invitation, and she eventually accepted it. After finally making it to the grandest stage a ventriloquist can be at, she’s sure to be a great success, right?

Rin is externally a very positive person, very kind, excited, and bubbly. While she's portraying Toru (Androgynous sounding voice) however, she's rude and cartoonishly brash.
(Disagreeable, but sucks it up and puts on a smile.) “Okayyy… I’m Rin Oshiro, Ultimate-" (Cuts off into Toru's voice, brash and loud.) "Ventriloquist! And I’m her best friend Toru! That’s my name, don’t wear it out..!”
(Embarrassed, Dejected.) “Oh come on, don’t listen to him! I could have sworn “gubbins” was a word!”
(Rin as Toru, offended, angry.) “Puppet!? Who’re you calling a puppet!?
“'Ken Kobashi is the one of the most popular, and quite possibly even the best director of all time, as well as one of the most important Rising Ultimates we have in the up-and-coming generation.' Please put this in my bio, it’ll look super good! Please dude I’m serious, I’ll pay you!” - A quote by Ken Kobashi.
Ken had an unremarkable life during almost his entire time through the school, being almost entirely ignored by those around him. Ken was determined to not let himself be someone that people can just walk past without even acknowledging. “What was the best way he could do this besides being an Ultimate?” Ken thought, and so, he tried fishing. And baking. And Skateboarding. And Scuba-Diving, but somebody already took that one. And then finally, after so many years and almost being in his 3rd year of high-school, he tried creating short films, a venture that eventually worked out. Nobody knows how he just was somehow good at it, but it worked, and he finally became recognized. Not only by his fellow students, but Japan’s government, who invited him to the Ultimate Banquet as “Ultimate Filmmaker.” A title that he never expected to have, but hey, it worked out for him right?

Ken is a very outwardly aggressive person who is very passionate about what he does (or at least the recognition it gets him), and so he's a very proud person. He can seem fairly snooty sometimes, but he's really just someone who let fame get to his head. Basically, he's kind of a lovable dork who means well, but doesn't know how to handle the fame he has achieved in a humble way.
(Annoyed, upset.) “...Ken. Ken Kobashi. Ultimate Filmmaker. Now, if we're done with all of this, I’m gonna leave this prick here with you guys, and make myself useful somewhere else."
(Angry.) “I can't believe Ultimates like us are being forced into this kind of situation. I mean, we're the reason this country's still functioning, dammit!”
(A little scared, but determined.) “I've got this all on tape! Don't think you're gonna get away with this!”
When Hikari was younger he lived with both his parents and his grandfather. Hikari always loved to play as a pirate discovering ancient treasures, and expressed an interest in exploring the depths of the ocean. His parents played it off as just a child’s fantasy, but his grandfather supported him in ways that his parents never did, convincing him to pursue a future in Marine Archaeology, which was the closest thing to a pirate you could get. Eventually, Hikari studied all that he could when he was older, and successfully became the newest Rising Ultimate Marine Archaeologist after being invited to the Ultimate Banquet by Japan’s government. He’s finally succeeded in his goal, but in the end, will he sink or swim?

Hikari is very kind-hearted and an optimist. He has a very calm yet friendly demeanor.
(Casual, friendly.) “Name’s Hikari Tono. I’m the Ultimate Marine Archaeologist. Nice to meet you.”
(Inquisitive, friendly.) “Oh! Hey Masao. Seems like you got around to meeting Ryo and Ms. Watanabe?”
(Scared, confused.) “Forever!? What do you mean by forever!?”
Alexandre is well known as the last generation’s “Ultimate Bodyguard.” He has succeeded in living up to his role, protecting many important government personnel and famous names, making him a very popular name when you bring up the topic of Ultimates. While he was indeed last generation’s Ultimate Bodyguard, Alexandre does not have a Rising Ultimate that is planned to succeed him during the up-and-coming Ultimate Banquet, so he was invited to once again claim the mantle of the Ultimate Bodyguard in one of the few rare cases of a consecutive Ultimate Title holding. He is very honored to remain in this very highly regarded role, and he considers it a blessing. Because of this very odd predicament, he is currently the oldest Ultimate attending the Banquet, and is the only legal adult. Will this maturity help him in future times of trouble?

Alexandre is a very brave and capable soul. He protects those who need it and is both very honorable and courteous. He is also on of the only foreign Ultimates who attended the Banquet, hailing from Sweden.
(Serious, intimidating yet calm.) “I am Alexandre Lindberg. Ultimate Bodyguard. It's my duty to keep everyone safe, so I will not allow hostility.”
(Sincere, sympathetic.) “Don't let it get to you, I can tell she doesn’t mean that.”
(Concerned, somewhat angry.) “You have to be lying!”
When Rikka was younger she used to go on deep-sea diving trips with her family during the summer, during which she was able to bond with both her parents greatly, building a great relationship with her father. Eventually after a few years, Rikka’s mother passed away due to a terminal illness, and her father was forced to get a higher-paying job, and so he couldn’t spend as much time with Rikka. Their relationship became torn through small meaningless arguments and spats, causing Rikka to miss the older pastimes of scuba-diving, so she began to do it herself or with her friends when she got older. Eventually, she became well known for her dives, reaching magnificent depths that most people couldn’t even imagine. After a while, she was recognized by Japan’s government as the Rising Ultimate Scuba-Diver. Although after she accepted the invitation to the Banquet, she may have gone a little deeper than she thought she would.

Rikka is lead by her emotions greatly, and wears her heart on her sleeve. In the death game she is very rude and harsh because of the stress she is enduring.
(Annoyed, tense.) “Blah, blah, blah, Rikka Toyama, blah blah blah, Ultimate Scuba Diver.”
(Dismissive, rude.) “Anyway, I’m off. I’ll go find somewhere else to not be spoken to since it’s clearly not working here.”
(Annoyed, rude.) “Yeah, because the Ultimate Filmmaker does so much to help this country. You talk too much.”
When Akemi was growing up, she always had competitions with her family, playing small harmless games for fun. After a while, she developed a strong interest in orchestral music because of her older brother, who was determined to shoot for the stars and become Japan’s “Ultimate Maestro”. Akemi eventually studied music and began to compete with her brother for the title, even having pay-per-view events featuring a battle between both her and her brother’s orchestras. Eventually, her brother decided to concede the battle as he became somewhat insecure of his own skill compared to Akemi’s, so he enlisted in the Japanese military, much to Akemi’s dismay. Akemi then took the title of Ultimate Maestro after receiving an invite to the Ultimate Banquet after her brother’s resignation, despite her wishes to receive the invite as a prize for winning a fair competition. Now that she’s “Won,” will Akemi be able to face this new challenge ahead of her?

Akemi is a very competitive person. She is very calm in her competitiveness and thinks very strategically, however she has her moments where she slips up and lets her emotions take control.
(Disagreeable, standoffish.) “...Akemi Inoue, Ultimate Maestro.”
(Impressed.) “Wow. Honestly, that's kind of impressive. They've been at that for the past 10 minutes.”
(Angry, concerned.) “This is such bullshit..!”
