Crackcare: Volume 1 (Comic dub movie)
Project Overview
A cat named Barry ill goes to the world proclaimed Sparklecare hospital in the hopes he can get better, but quickly learns that it isnt as amazing as everyone thinks it is..
This project is the first dub movie of my comic crackcare, the project covers all of volume 1. (If you recognise these characters or comic, this comic is a rewrite of another comic which has a controversial creator, but no one involved with this project is associated or support that original creator. Our goal is to make a better version of the original and to make something good out of a bad situation. If you support the actions of the creator of the other comic please do not engage or audition for this project.)
Crackcare is a celebration of diversity and the LGBTQIA+ community as well as people with disabilities. It's also a love letter to edgy OCS, embracing cringe and the furry fandom!
This is a horror comic despite its cutesy artstyle and contains cartoonish/stylized gore so keep that in mind!
People who get the roles for this dub will be expected to reprise their roles in future dubs of the other volumes. Aswell as maybe doing wacky side things as their characters like shorts or maybe even song covers
(The two main characters, Barry and Uni are not in this casting call due to them already having people assigned to their roles. That being me and one of my friends.)

For this project, we need someone whos able to produce music for the background of scenes aswell as for the instrumentals for musical numbers. Whoever gets this role will be also working on future volumes. Multiple may be chosen for this role if we get a lot of good auditons.
I have compiled a playlist full of music that has the vibe I have in mind for the soundtrack, Please listen to this and take inspiration from it.. Most of the music in crackcare should be upbeat and kind of 2010s esce in style, but exceptions can be made for certain scenes.

A former patient of the hospital who escaped years ago, he's grown cold and gruff from the threat of being caught again. In other words, he's a grumpy old cat who's constantly dreading the future.
The most noticable part of Charles is his anger, but under all of the paranoid yelling is fear. Charles isn't a mean person, he's just afraid to relive his trauma.
Charles has a fairly minor role in the first volume but will make more appearances in the future.

Carrie is a cool cat and a hospital staff members worst nightmare, shes rowdy, loud and incredibly rebelious. They've tried to escape hundreds of times with Uni but failed every time. Claw isnt afraid of fighting back but that doesnt mean she isnt secretly scared of some staff. She suffers from the affliction Coughs-a-lot.
The best way I can explain my vision for her voice is those edgy girls from kids cartoons, shes speak very confidently and shes pretty snarky. But if she crams to many words into her sentences she sometimes coughs or has to catch her breath.
Carrie is a very major character in volume 1, and will be appearing in future volumes.

Hemera is a little yellow fennec fox. She has the best intentions for everyone, she just wants to keep people safe in a dangerous place like the hospital, but she ends up accidentally coming off as bossy, overprotective and rude despite her efforts. She acts her best around staff members, shes about as perfect a patient you could get. Unfortunately, Stem has atrocious luck for a reason unknown to all but herself
They have a passion for plants and love taking care of them.
She has the affliction bleeds-a-lot, which causes her nose and mouth to constantly bleed. Due to this she sounds like she has a bit of a lisp and stuffy nose. Her voiceclaim is this song.

Jay is a very short cat-goat hybrid. Due to their unexplainable luck magic that prevents doctors from hurting them, Jay doesnt get put through horrific surgeries like other patients. He loves helping others with escape attempts. He does his best to be as helpful as possible to others and loves making people happy almost to a fault. Jay is usually seen with Hemera, they have a very confusing relationship. Hemera is overly controlling of Jay in fear of bad things happening to them while Jay likes Hemera and just wishes they wouldnt push him around so much.

Cuddles is the famous owner of Sparklecare hospital! Everyone loves him!!! Hes just a silly little guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IGNORE THE BLOOD- HE IS SILLY!!! HE IS JUST A WITTLE BNUNNY GUYZ!! Cuddles keeps up a cute persona around the public but when nobodys looking he is a rotting hearted killer with an odd obsession with canibalism(but he'll usually still act silly while doing so, he thinks its funny.) He loves bright colours and cute imagery, he does his best to look as cutesy and appealing to the public as possible for money and it works almost suspiciously well...
Cuddles' natural voice is pretty normal sounding, but hes constantly faking his voice to be more higher pitched and cutesy. He will even occasionally talk in a baby voice ("wike dis") around the public to make them find him cute. He does not drop this cutesy facade around other people.
Cuddles is the main antagonist of crackcare and a very important character to the story of volume 1, he will return in future volumes. Cuddles has a singing role in volume 1 and in future volumes, so optionally it would be nice for whoever auditions to include a sample of them singing any song of their choice in his voice.

Moods a colorful spider-rat hybrid. Mood is the polar opposite to her brother Doom, shes cheery, positive and does her best to make patients feel as safe as they can in the hellhole that is the hospital. Despite their differences, Mood cares a lot about Doom and is the only person who supports him. Shes probably most patients favourite nurse, she hosts fun events for them and actually tries to help them as much as she can. Mood feels very guilty about working at Sparklecare and hates seeing people suffer, but theres nothing she can do about it. She also eats bugs.

Dooms a spider-rat hybrid. Dooms name pretty much says it all, hes an edgelord with no hope for his future. Hes mean and snappy towards everyone but his sister Mood and his boss Cuddles (Mood because he actually cares about her, and Cuddles because hes horrified of him). Skulls incredibly unlikable and unbearable to be around usually for most people, the way he acts is built up by layers and layers of insecurity and hatred. If you auditon for this role prepare to say some pretty uncomfortable things because Doom is an all around horrible person and a misogynist.
This is the closest voiceclaim I could find, just imagine this but if he hated his life and had a very slightly deeper voice.
Doom is a very major character in volume 1 and will reappear in future volumes. He has a very minor singing role in volume 1 so if you feel like it you could attach a clip of you singing any song of your choice in his voice at the end of your auditon lines.

Rem is the ONLY security guard in the hospital, which is strange considering how popular it is and how many dark secrets lay inside. Shes very motherly and caring but isnt afraid to stand her ground againist people she doesnt like and is very confident. They thrive in the darkness since she is a bat and naps for most of their workshift but doesnt get in trouble for it because Cuddles thinks shes hot. Rem cares a lot about her daughter, Kidd and would literally kill for her.

Shes unquestionably loyal to Cuddles out of fear and will do about anything he tells her to do. They love baking treats for their co-workers and oh boy do they taste sickeningly sweet (their baking is a..refined taste)

Snare is a green deer. Snares been through many jobs in different hospitals, and fired from them all for not doing said jobs, but at Sparklecare Cuddles just lets her do whatever (which is nothing..) She doesnt really care about anyone at the hospital and just comes to work for her paycheck and to sit around and read through magazines. She keeps to herself most of the time and comes off as pretty grumpy usually.
She smokes pretty often so I imagine her voice to be quite rough.
