Hello there !! My name is Victoria and I am currently in my final year of uni completing my thesis film called “COUNTER BOX”! It is an action film, following the journey of the underdog beating the odds in an environment meant to tear her down. My main character Kitty actually does not talk, but all 3 of her rivals do talk a lot of shit so if this project interests you pls apply !!
There will be one Major Villain - Lioness, and her goons, Minor Roles - Boa and Elle. All roles will including ad-libing fighting sounds such as grunts, wheezes, and such.
Genre: Action, Melo-dramatic, Retro
Synopsis:
Raised in the dirt of an underground fighting ring, Kitty had always followed the life of bowing her head and accepting whatever was thrown at her. The constant berating and disrespect wears down her patience and pride leading her to aim higher than what is expected of her.
Requirements/Details:
Audio quality: No pops, peaks or background noises! any equipment is fine! (If you are in Melb and don’t have equipment, happy to record irl)
There will be fight noises; grunts, breathes, groans (apologies :/)
Recording + Directions will be done over discord for all roles.
You can apply to multiple characters! But they all do need to sound distinct.

Major Villian Role -
Lioness is an ego seeking boxing ring leader. She is prideful and full of spite, she hates to be upstaged. Most of her speech is either condescending or malicious.
Lioness first discovers Kitty in a street fight and adopts her to be the punching bag and weakling in her boxing matches. She provides housing and meals in exchange for being beat up… oof. Once Kitty stands up for herself, Lioness laughs and underestimates her. As the film goes on and she claims more victories, Lioness sees the audience side with Kitty and begins to rage. Not completely catatonic from the beginning, but it definitely gets under her skin.
Lines will consist of introducing opponents, mean quips, and an almost monologue at the end of the film.
I am imagining a deeper rough fem voice for her. Changing from a charismatic announcer to a snide opponent.
I apologise but there will be grunting and general fight noises as this film contains a lot of fighting.

Minor Villian -
Minor Role
Boa is a snarky petty fighter who plays dirty. She enjoys stepping on the weak and reveling in their misery. She craves more power, secretly coveting the position Lioness holds but will still lick her feet. She is quite low in the food chain so she can only take out her frustrations on Kitty.
Once Boa finds out Kitty is beginning to step up and fight for real, Boa takes this as an opportunity to prove herself and to smash Kitty to bits.
Lines will consist of two short monologues. She ass tends to extend her ‘S’ sounds at the end of her words… she’s a snake :P

Minor Role
Elle is meek, unopinionated, and just satisfied with staying safe. She joins the boxing troop due to her size and power, following behind Lioness and obeying the law of Lioness’ ring.
She suffers from her lack of freedom, but stays complicit for the benefits of shelter and food. She’s baffled that Kitty would go against the wishes of Lioness, believing Kitty’s fated for doom.
I imagine her voice to be unsure and fearful.
She has a small amount of lines.
