What is this?
Countdown is an original story that will be produced as a Minecraft cinematic roleplay. The story is set in a futuristic world, where everyone is born with a Timer that counts down to an important event in their life. Brayden’s timer has almost dwindled down to zero, when suddenly things don’t go quite as planned…
This series will consist of roughly 10-15 episodes, and is only scheduled to run for one season (subject to change, of course)!
Requirements:
Must be above the age of 13 in order to audition.
You need a decent microphone. It must be capable of recording your voice lines without picking up an excessive amount of background noise.
You must be able to express heavy emotions (anger, despair, sadness, love, etc.).
You must have Discord, as it will be our primary form of communication.
Payments will be issued once for the entirety of the season - please be aware of this before auditioning! More information on when payments will be sent will be discussed if you are to be cast. If you have any questions, please message me.

Auditioning:Please read each line 2-3 times as you see fit. Be sure to use the emotion that the line calls for, and make the character your own! :)

Character: Always at the top of his class in school, Brayden has a bright mind and often tends to get absorbed in his own imagination. He loves the idea of "the unknown," and isn't one to turn down an offer for adventure. Brayden typically brings a sense of ease and comfort to those around him, and is one of the best listeners you will ever meet. He tries to never let his emotions get the best of him, but, well... We all have our moments.
Voice: Brayden should have a modulated, perhaps a bit on the deeper side, voice. His tone is typically quite comforting, steady, and calm -- but not necessarily sorrowful.
(Jokingly) "Zuko, you moron, get down from there!" He laughs, turning to someone else. "He sure does drive me crazy sometimes."
(Flustered) "N-no, there's no way... There's just no way that happened by coincidence, Rissa!" He groans. "Come on, we need to get out of here. NOW."
(Deep in thought, mumbling) "Wait, wait, so if we took this... And then... Considering that this.. and that too..." He gasps, calling out, "I've got it! C'mere!"
Character: While she might come off as mysterious and daunting to some, Rissa's closest friends know that she's just a sweetheart who puts on a tough act. Rissa has had a rough past, but always does her best to be there for those who are important to her. She has a deep passion for astrology, and it is one of the few things that she could talk about for hours on end.
Voice: Rissa should have a lower-ranged, possibly slightly raspy, voice. Her tone should be very down to Earth and grounding, and a bit mysterious at times.
(Lighthearted storytelling) "Yeah, and then she, like, kept Zyping him I guess... At least that's what I heard from Sidney. I dunno, the whole thing was really confusing. Anywaysss, how did things go with you-know-who?"
(Verge of tears/shaky) "Comet, just hold on, please. We're going to figure this out, okay? Nothing's going to happen to me, or to you. I.." She pauses, inhaling and exhaling slowly. "I promise."
(Angry/shouting) "YOU were the one who set this whole thing up! Look what you did to her, you.. You psychotic freak!" She pauses, taking a shaky breath, tone growing cold. "..And now, you are going to leave this building if you know what's good for you. I'll sort things out with you later."
Character: He is often described by his friends & family as the "life of the party," and is never one to turn down an offer for adventure. Zuko has been known to be a bit harsh at time, and will do nearly anything to stand up for what he believes in. He is strong willed, and most definitely a fighter.
Voice: Zuko should have a strong, low to mid-ranged voice. He should come off as friendly, yet intimidating. He often loses his cool and gets quite frantic, and should have a panicky tone for those moments.
(Jokingly) "Comet, come on -- just one more round! We're totally gonna destroy them this time. Right, Brayden?" He laughs. "Ready up guys, let's do this."
(Distressed/Frantic) "Rissa, wait! I-" Pause as Rissa turns and walks off, leaving Zuko mumbling to himself. "Damnit.. I.. Damnit!! Why, Rissa, why?! Everything would have been fine, if only he didn't get in my way..."
(Intimidating) "I said to leave her alone, dude. Now back off." Pause, shifting tone. (Comforting) "..C'mon, let's get you home."
Character: Comet's life goal seems to be to match the energy of those around her. She can go from being silently immersed in a novel to yelling with (or at..) friends on a video game in a matter of seconds. They can be your shoulder to cry on, or your go-to person for midnight snack runs. She truly feels the emotions of those around her, and is very selective about who she lets close to her, physically and emotionally.
Voice: Comet should have a mid-ranged voice, with a quite versatile tone. Overall, try out nearly any voice you'd like for this character! :)
(Confused/slightly offended) "No, I swear I don't know anything about that, Brayden... You know I'd tell you if I did." They sigh. "There has to be somebody behind this, and it clearly isn't you or me."
(Joyful) "OMG, thank you so much Jinx!! You guys didn't have to do that, y'know!" She laughs. "I'll get you back for this tomorrow, you hear me?"
(Upset/accusatory) "Woah woah, slow down there. First and foremost, I NEVER said that, Zuko, quit putting words in my mouth. Second, we need to look back over the facts we do have and draw a LOGICAL conclusion."
Character: Jinx is a bubbly, sweet girl with a passion for art. She is all about peace, love, and happiness, and despises any form of confrontation or arguing -- fighting of any sort makes her physically upset and uneasy. Jinx tries to never let things get to her, but of course everybody has their breaking point.
Voice: Jinx should have a slightly higher pitched voice, with a bubbly tone. Her voice shouldn't necessarily be squeaky/super high pitched, but more so just upbeat.
(Laughing, talking between gasps for air) "Enrique- oh my- the way you just-" Jinx laughs hysterically. "You're gonna make me lose a lung over here- Stop ittt!!"
(Clearly upset, quiet at first) "Guys.. Guys, knock it off.." She pauses before gasping in shock. "Brayden, stop! Please! You too, Zuko and Rissa. This fighting has to end. None of you are thinking clearly."
(Skeptical) "There's no way... They wouldn't do that. There has to be something missing, I don't.. ugh, I just don't believe it."
Character: Enrique has a very specific energy about him, and you'll feel like you've known him for years from the first moment you talk to him. He loves watching the clouds or stars, and one of his favorite things to do is drive around for hours with Jinx, his best friend, and talk about the world. Enrique is a fun guy, and typically very unproblematic.
Voice: Enrique should have a comforting, mid-ranged voice, perhaps slightly on the higher end. He should have a casual tone, with a soft serious undertone.
(Casual/joking) "So then I was like, 'I'll give you the answers, but only if you admit I'm a better driver than you,' and she wouldn't do it!" He pauses as the other person answers. "Exaaactly, that's what I said!!"
(Confused) "You're asking ME for help? Brayden, I know about as much about girls as I know about chemistry. Which, considering my failing grade, isn't very much. But if you're that desperate.. I can try, I guess. What's up?"
(Comforting/reassuring) "Jinx, listen to me. You have to quit thinking like that. She's not going anywhere, I'm not going anywhere, and YOU'RE not going anywhere. Look at me. I care about you, and I'm not going to let anything bad happen. I promise."
We will need extra VA's to act additional side characters! Please use a variety of tones & voices when reading the lines to give me a good scope of what you're capable of.
If you are cast for this role, you may fill for a supporting role or a quick one-line extra role! :)
(Shocked/panicy) "Oh my- Look over there! This is a catastrophe!- Do the police know about this??"
(Casual) "Yeah, so then we just went to grab ice cream afterwards. Anyways, how did things with you and Madeline go?"
(Talking quickly) "Can I get a venti iced coffee with 4 shots of espresso, 2 vanilla, 2 toffee nut, one caramel, one cinnamon dolce, please?" They turn to their friend, talking slower. "..That's all you're getting..? A cake pop?"
