Coronation Day Video
Project Overview
Hello! I am a youtuber currently working on a ~3 hour long video covering a Super Mario World ARG / horror ROM hack called "Coronation Day". The hack has a handful of characters that I'm looking to get voiced in the video.
Explaining the hack's premise is quite difficult as it is extremely unusual and esoteric, but the simplified version is that Mario is stuck in a time loop, and he must escape by collecting various items across the world.
The characters in the hack range from normal Super Mario characters, to entirely unique entities, to disembodied voices that have no real physical form.
If you're curious about what the video will look like, you can watch the first 20 minutes here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljFZtznwgNk
The full voicelines for every character can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YdC18UdkONkUZPWaMumbxuT4r1WQm_er6uDeIVGJ8es/edit?usp=sharing
If you plan on making a submission, I strongly recommend reading all the lines for the character first. Most of the characters only have ~20-40 lines so it shouldn't take long at all.
Peach shows up in multiple areas throughout the game, and she usually speaks during endings or before getting sent to a new area. Despite Peach having a voice in the main games, I am not looking for someone to do a perfect impression of her. Any generally soft-spoken female voice will work fine.

Hello, fancy seeing you here! I’ve been looking for you all over. Did you find it?
(DIARY) December 28, 1992. Just finished my first day. Everyone here seems so cold, when I look into their eyes I can’t see even the slightest shimmer of a soul left. The work itself has been trivial so far, I’m not sure what I was expecting, it’s just a lab after all.
No! I know what I have to do! There is still time, I can make it through this! I just have to try…
This character speaks to the player in only one area of the game, serving as a transition between areas as well as giving some lore. Speaks in a flat/slightly monotone female voice, like an angel or other powerful entity.

THOSE WHO LIVE NEARBY TOLD ME ABOUT A LAKE DEEP, DEEP UNDERNEATH THE FOREST. MANY WHO WANTED TO EXPLORE THE LAKE’S MYSTERIES, OLD AND YOUNG ALIKE, NEVER RETURNED.
Appears after getting one of the game's endings, and sells the player 6 items required for progression. Gender-neutral, slightly high pitched voice. Speaks with an upbeat, somewhat mischievous tone.

Look at that pristine shop voucher! If you take it I’m sure it’ll prove to be very useful. And it’s not like anyone would mind if you took it, right?
Hehe, hey there! Is it possible we’ve met before? You have a familiar face… Well, no matter, we’ve more pressing things to discuss.
There is a theory that these two characters are the same entity, so they will be voiced by the same person. The cat is a standard orange house cat which seems to possess omnipotent abilities. Speaks with a commanding and powerful tone. Paw is a faceless character who we meet through reading their blog. Speaks with a very eccentric and high pitched/feminine male voice.

(CAT) That’s enough. I grow tired of your drivel. Can’t you see it’s already too late?
(PAW) I’ve been looking for the ABSOLUTE TRUTH for a long, long time. It is hidden somewhere deep within the game, I just know it! And I’m going to be the one to find it! I’m so excited, I can’t wait to be able to share it with you all :D
This is a disembodied voice that speaks to the player upon entering the "Reset Pit", a small pit of bodies that resets all data when entered. Speaks with a deep, authoritative, slightly apathetic female voice.

Welcome. A little birdie told me that you yearn for a fresh start. As the lake, I grant such wishes, but you should know this is irreversible.
This character speaks to the player after completing an extremely difficult section of the game required for progression. Speaks with a deep but warm/kind female voice.

You know the saying? What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. But… how many times have you died? Never mind that question, because it’s at least once.
