Conception (Halo 4 Action-Drama Machinima)
Project Overview
Carter is a prodigy in the making. He shows much promise in his studies and most people get along with him. But he is the 1% of people in this city that will pursue their dreams. 100 years after the Earth was plunged into a 3rd World War, Humanity has slowly begun rebuilding itself and establishing order. However, in exchange for order, many citizen’s freedoms and rights were stripped and their lives are decided for them. Carter watches as his peers around him are forced into paths they don’t choose, people are oppressed, and his father is undermined for his work. He will be a witness to many wrongdoings over the course of a week and will choose whether he’ll standby or take action against the government, forsaking his opportunities.
Conception is a prequel to my first machinima "Perception" and is meant as a jumping off point into a long series of machinimas. The movie will be done in Halo 4 and is planned to be released in early 2021.

Smart, Caring, Kind, Gentle, Cautious and Loyal.
Carter is a student at the academy and is one of the few citizens allowed to continue their education. He shows a lot of promise in his studies and is seen as more important than the others. Even so, he tries to keep in contact with his old friend group even as they drift apart. He keeps a close relationship with his father and tries to help out with his repair shop. He’s a youth drifting on he wants to do in life, not fully understanding the position he’s in. He’s disillusioned on whether the laws and practices of the city's government are good or unjust. He struggles with deciding for himself and tries to impress those around him, he drifts from a view to the next and will get impulsive later on in the film.
(Calm) You never told me what your dream job was?
(Nervous) Oh, well I'm still undecided. I don't know where I'll be in the future.
(Melancholic) To be honest, I've been drifting these past two years. Learning as much as I can. Participating in different projects. I thought it would help me figure out my aspirations. But it only confused me.
Nice, Outgoing, Concerned, Ambitious, Understanding and Protective.
Jenson is a student at the academy and Carter’s best friend. He is the only person who understands Carter and sees his true personality. Jenson has a knack for analyzing people and a desire to help them with their problems. He’s an average student but has a dream to be an architect in order to build a more friendly city for people’s morale. As with his outgoing personality, he’s a likable individual among the students and staff. But he tries his best to help Carter with his social life and problems at home, even if he’s resistant at first. This is due to Jenson having an affection for Carter that develops into an unrequited love.
(Reflective) You're always doing that advanced tutoring. I barely see you nowadays.
(Surprised) You never heard? Her dad was arrested for smuggling food. She got put on probation because of him.
(Slowly building confidence) The test didn't choose what I wanted but what I was good at, analyzing people and wanting to help them. If being a teacher can help young kids better their futures, then that's what I'll do.
Energetic, Street Smart, Sly, Flexible, Outspoken and Open-Minded.
Sal is a student at the academy and is friends with Piera and Jenson. He was held back a grade due to attacking another student for a disagreement. Despite his disciplinary record, Sal is a very friendly individual and tries to help those around him, though not to the degree Jenson would. He’s a lax person when it comes to laws and tends to break a few for his own amusement. He has aspirations for the future but wants a stable life when he leaves the academy. He was the only person really to reach out Piera despite her being ostracized.
(Dismissive) Yeaaaah, let's just say I had a bit of disagreement with another guy.
(Proud) Oh yeah, Peira and I go way back. I swear it's almost like she clings to me.
(Irritated) Shhhhh, I'm trying to make a good impression.
Sarcastic, Stern, Distant, Pessimistic and Emotional
Piera is a returning student to the academy and her only friend is Sal. Her father was arrested after he was caught smuggling ration and goods. As a result, she was removed from school for 2 years due to her blood relation to her father. She was allowed to return to school and forced to cram her missing education in 6 months. She feels like her future prospects were wrongfully taken away from her and has a grudge against the government.
(Sarcastic) Maybe if you took better care of your appearance, you wouldn't have to compensate like this.
(Irritated) Just because I fell behind a grade, doesn't mean I'm beneath you people.
(Angry) This has been my life for the past 3 years. My future was taken from me when they arrested my father. I tried to work hard to get it back.
Tired, Hard Worker, Dedicated, Tries to be a good dad.
Mason is the father of Carter and took care of him after his mother passed away 8 years ago. Mason is in charge of Repair shop for both civiliana small business use. He is usually very busy with his work and gets booked with government projects here and then. Even so, he tries to save time for his son and put time into his education. But trying to manage both aspects of his life has been getting more difficult as each has gotten more demanding. It comes to a point where he barely has time for his son and becomes more irritable.
(Concerned) I'm serious. The more you take it too seriously, the more you overthink the questions, the more it doesn't become what you want.
(Tired) If you need mechanical services, you need to make an appointment. I already have a queue of customers needing help.
(Angry) Don't tell me what he's going through! My son needs his father
Stern, Professional, Strict but Caring, Needs to work on empathy.
Victor is the current governor of the Atlas Garden City. He is the city's 9th governor and has enacted steady change within the government system. Though he is still a traditionalist, he still wants what's best for the people without compromising their safety. He has Rocky relationship with his son, trying best to prepare him for his political career with fully understanding him as a person.
(Proud) I came to you today not as your leader but as a friend.You are nearing the end of your basic education cycle and will be set on your career path. I know some of you may be nervous. Some of you may be anxious. And some of you may in fact miss your days at the academy. Rest assured, that you don't have to worry
(Exhausted) Just one problem after the other, now we have to deal with money hungry failures.
(Concern) Look, I know we got on a wrong foot the other night. I'm not trying to undermine what you want. I...I just want what's best for you.
Calm, Collective, Loyal, Whitty and Sarcastic
Cairo was a conscript in the city security force but soon transferred to a special forces unit to enact secretive operations within and outside the city. He excels in infiltration, info gathering and interrogation. At 16, he was tested for military training and was assigned to becoming a police officer. He's excellent combat skills and remarkable deduction skills got him scouted to become a military operative at 18.By proving to be a good fighter and showing signs of leadership u see pressure, he was again assigned to a higher branch, special operations at age 20. He has proven himself to be a very capable agent, one with the potential of leading the military due to his tactical mindset and forging strong bonds. But through his 6 years in the service, Cairo is starting to become disillusioned to the idea of complete loyalty. He's starting to see corruption and oppression within the city system.
(Calm) I can't blame him, the last few weeks must be a headache.
(Assuring) I needed a break from the wasteland expeditions. Besides, this stuff is close to home for me.
(Smug) Next time. Don't take money from the pot...And get a new change of pants.
Charismatic, Caring, Friendly, Emotional and Self Serving.
Peter is the son of victor Albon, the governor of the garden city, and a candidate for a seat on the city council. Due to his birthright, Peter was brought up to be trained in different aspects of city life. Through his intensive education, he was selected to be a future member of the high council and a possible contender for Governor. Many high expectations are put on him, and Peter sometimes feels overwhelmed because of this. He has a fascination with the lives of normal people as he believes he needs to know the routines and hardships of the people. He also has a close relationship with the City’s super AI, Atlas.
(Melancholic) Must be nice down there. Not having the weight of the entire city on your shoulders. You ever get tired of looking down on people, Atlas?
(Trying to reassure) Look, this is a one time thing. I'm just going out for some research
(Shock) They're supposed to protect people, not kill children.
Stern, Serious, Collective and Focused.
Dieta is a member of the city’s internal investigation branch and is a veteran within it's military. Even if he takes solo missions, he's proven to be a good leader. Through his many years in investigations, he’s grown to know the corruption in many parts of the city leadership, thus his loyalty and belief within the laws has thinned. He takes matters into his own hands and gets his job done without hesitation.
(Calm) There's been some large amount of funds transferred to many accounts. We tried tracing them but the funds blinked off the map.
(Concern) You look tense. Is something wrong?
(Agitated) We may not get a second chance. It's now or never.
Scheming, Sly, Silver tongued, Selfish and Aggressive
Hendricks is a leader in the production of Androids and Robotic within the Garden. He has shifted the business into a self venture and landers money away from the projects he’s in charge of. With the increase of riots, he was contracted to make more androids but see it as an opportunity to make quick money. He roped other project leaders into his scheme and runs a network of smuggling and bribery.
(Polite) Hello Mr. Mason ,my name is Hendricks. I'm the supervisor of Security Android Production.
(Slightly agitated) Watch it. As of this moment, I am effectively your supervisor. You do well not to piss off the one who can destroy your business.
(Sinister) I hired you to work, not think about ethics. Are we going to have a problem?
Chief Steele is the head of the City's security department and oversees all internal conflicts with it's citizens. One of the side antagonists, Steele is a corrupt chief who assist Hendricks getting away with his dealings. He's the main force behind the police force's increasingly aggressive behavior and profits off the civilian riots.

Minor character roles that include many different one shot characters that have more than one line. Can include: teachers, business men and rebels.
(Teacher) Look, this test is to see everything you've done and learn with your time at the academy. It can determine not only your job but your housing and status as well. Please take the test seriously. Class dismissed.
(Scared corrupt official) No it's nothing. We usually don't get visitors from the investigation bureau that often.
(Rebel) You sure? This life isn't easy. The moment you join our group, you'll become an enemy of the state.
These are no name extras that have one or very few lines and are in plentiful supply. Can be regular people to androids.
(Citizen) You people can't keep lowering our food count. I work day and night in the factories, this isn't enough for my family.
(Security Officer) ID? Ok, you're clear to go.
(Android) Do not attempt to run. Resistance is futile.
