I would like to find some voice actors to help in putting together an audiobook (more old-school audio drama with the idea of how I'd like to edit it - It'd like to put it up with visuals on a couple video sharing sites or maybe compile it as a visual novel) for a story I've been working on. The first 8 chapters are available on a variety of different sites if you want to look through it (inkitt, Wattpad, Inkspired, itch.io [yes I uploaded it here; there is a book section. You can download a pdf] and FictionPress) Though if you don't want to read through that (it would help with context), the very basic summary is that Damien Holden is the only one to survive an attack by a mysterious tribe leading into a manifold of events, including some revelations of the inspector's own tenuous history.
This does take place in more of a fantasy sci-fi setting, and I'll try to leave off any strange terms in the auditions (I'll make a video in a couple days covering most of the terms as an intro and explain the characters a bit better) This is more of a concession on my part since I know I sometimes am not the best at explaining things, so feel free to ask about anything even if it's not directly related to any audition.
I unfortunately don’t have a lot of money at the moment. I do have various support pages setup that I don’t currently use. I don’t mind paying if it does end up being popular.
I don't expect this to be much of an issue, but please don't overly compress, add strange audio effects, or have overly muffled audio (I do know how to rebalance audio levels, but it is a skill somebody recording should have anyway) Other that that, I don't care what your recording equipment is like. The only other thing is enunciate (it doesn't help if you can't be understood) and emote (voice acting is still acting)
(Doubt anyone cares that much; there are still some details off with the current models, but they're about as accurate to the characters as I'm going to get them)
I'm not sure how many people following this will care, but I've finally setup a new casting call page, but for only chapter one so far (available here: Cohesion chapter 1) The only open roles are Damien, Ashton, and Connor, though I will be paying (only $5, I know that's not really a lot)

First off, I know it doesn't fix anything, but sorry for disappearing for a long while there. My internet has been crap for awhile (hopefully will be upgrading to fiber in the next week or so, and that should at least fix the speed issues)
Instead of casting this and finding out that people here aren't interested I'll just relist when my internet issues are dealt with. I'll update again when I have that up.
I’m going to be bumping the deadline back, though I will be starting to cast some roles (officially it should have been delisted on Saturday, so I’m not expecting that many new auditions to pop up at this point)

I do have a basic idea of who I might cast at the moment except for a few roles. I'm going to leave everything open until I finish the video (I was hoping to have it done earlier, but more important things keep coming up)
Damien is the protagonist, and is partially from a fictional race called Sendrian (you don't have to try to pronounce this right now)
He's in his late twenties (he's almost twenty seven at the start of the story)
He has curly dark hair, bronze skin, and eyes that go between gray and gold (there is actually a relevant reason for this) He also oddly has the least distinct voice even though he's the one telling the story. If I had to give it a description, I guess it'd be north eastern American, but NOT New Yorker or Bostonian if that makes sense. If not, then I guess any non thick English accent would be fine.
[Note - Because the story is in first person, Damien also acts as the narrator for most of the story. This means he's quite an involved role. I don't mind pairing this down, but he's still the protagonist. Also, I'd like the third line to be something the person auditioning chooses, but if you don't want to pick something here's a line from a section not up yet (this precludes Dalton's 3rd line):
“Not all of us want to be some fairy tale chosen. Some of us are just background characters. I don’t want to be part of your little club, Dalton. I don’t want to be a pawn in your game. I’m not anyone special."]

(From Ch.5) "You're an Honor consultant. Your clients are... Board members and upper class, aren't they?"

In order of appearance, Ashton is a Board member (basically a top official of the government in this world) He's about forty or fifty (I haven't thought on age much with some characters) He has light brown hair, honey brown eyes, and amber skin (actually I think I describe it as rose tint of amber, but let's just go with amber) I guess I'd say his accent is posh, though I'm not quite sure if it's British (Do NOT force a British accent if you can't do one)
(From Ch.1) "Ah, I should probably clarify. I’m afraid I wasn’t quite as properly… Informed as I should have been, either."
(From Ch.2) "Of course! Overly synthesized… It’s really not a good choice, especially with your current… Issues. Unfortunately, there isn’t really much choice.”
(From Ch. 6) “More stress is the last thing you need.”
Connor is a Chief Inspector who has red hair and green eyes. He's a bit reckless and doesn't seem to respect the Regulations. He's mid to late thirties.
I imagine him having an Irish accent, though not a thick one. (I'd also accept Scottish, though again, not thick) He also occasionally smokes, but that hasn't been brought up in the story anywhere just yet.
(From Ch.2) “That really ten years ago? Doesn’t feel like it.”
(From Ch.3) “Ya shouldn’t have taken a shower. Your hair’s gonna do that weird frizz thing…”
(From Ch.3) “Only ever get the broken or abused out here.”
Miranda has silver-blue eye and long black hair. She doesn't like the International Division being in the area, but will still help out on their missions mostly due to having a crush on Patrick (she's also the only one Patrick will let call him by his first name, but I don't think I have that in the chapters that are up) I imagine her and her father sounding Scottish, but I'll also accept Irish here as well.
(From Ch.2) “Great. As if this… Wasn’t enough to deal with.”
(From Ch.2) “Da wanted you to have this. I don’t really see the point.”
Alexandar is a bit of an odd one to explain. Sendria itself is a mix of South American, African, Middle Eastern, and even some Asian cultural elements. Because of this (and the fact that the story is mostly in first person) I haven't really settled much on the Sendrian language (and I have been working on a separate language) The accent has a particular sound in my head, but just to make it easer to explain If it helps, Alexandar's voice sounds rough and soft in my head (more like an introvert than a smoker)
I'll open this up to mostly any non-harsh English accents (Though going off of how it sounds in my head, I'd prefer Hispanic, though again don't force it if you can't do it)

Izumi is pretty much just Japanese (I wanted at least one character that was easy to explain) I don't know if she's going to speak any Japanese, not only because I'm writing in English but it'd have to be in romaji if it does get used.
She's in her thirties.

Dalton has black hair and blue eyes. Despite being an important character, he's probably the one that keeps changing the most so I haven't actually settled that much on an accent for him yet. I just wanted to get this out of the way because I'm not asking for anyone to do all of these, this is just the range of accents he's for some reason gone through in my mind. He's been Posh British, Californian (but not "Valley Girl"), New Yorker, and even general Northeastern American for a time. Again, I'm not asking for all of these, it's better to finally settle on one.
Dalton's the father of two boys; a fourteen year old and an eight year old. Dalton himself is in his late thirties.
(Edit - I'm adding context onto the first line because almost nobody has gotten the intensity for it right. For some reason it keeps sounding monotone. For clarity, you only have to record what's in quotation marks)
(From Ch.8) It slowly switched to sounding like laughing, instead. He connected a glare that made his icy blue eyes more chilling. “One would think you’d know your place!”
“He’s a child, and he’s been through a lot. A couple more days isn’t going to hurt anything."”
“If you were a pawn, you would be one amazingly strategic chess piece. You’ve got the brains and the power… and you’ve got the heart to match them.”
Seb has graying black hair and silver-blue eyes. He used to be an instructor for the International Division quite a while back, but now runs an orphanage of sorts on the Senrian Boarder. I imagine him and his daughter, Miranda, having a Scottish accent, though I'll also accept Irish as well. (Some of these aren't in the currently available chapters so I'll be adding some context; you only have to record what's in quotation marks)
(From Ch.8) “Ah my, looks like I’m causing trouble again, aren’t I?”
“Best learn, then. And fast.” A chilling scowl crossed the old man’s face, extinguishing the sparks in his eyes. “There’s worse things than me out this way. Much worse.”
