Codename: Cormorant Pilot Episode

Codename: Cormorant Pilot Episode

Project Overview

Codename: Cormorant is an audio drama that follows a team of Allied operatives as they fight against the anomalous, supernatural, and downright bizarre weapons being fielded by the Axis powers.

This casting call is for main characters and side characters for the pilot episode of the show.  This pilot will be used as proof of concept for a Kickstarter to better pay voice talent and increase the size of the cast for each episode.

I'm on mobile at the moment so I can't update it, but these are paid gigs.

Josephine -- $20

Sarge -- $15

Professor -- $15

Sparks -- $15

Richter -- $5

Weisz -- $5

Sergeant Ramos has a mostly neutral accent with a hint of Californian and a slightly gruff voice.

Sergeant Ramos is a Filipino-American and I would prefer he be played by a Filipino-American.  In later episodes he will be speaking some basic Tagalog (e.g. "Hello" "How are you?"), so someone who can do so is needed.

Sergeant Ramos has been in the army for 15 years but he is friendly and can be a jokester.

  • I think it's time for a patented Sarge spitball.  Batter up!

  • (To an animal) Hey there, girl. It's like riding a walking armored personnel carrier.

  • I don't suppose anyone brought a parachute?

Doctor Weisz has a German accent and is a mad scientist.

  • We were lucky to find a pair to mate.

  • Nein, Freidrich is out of control!

Professor Atwood has a proper British accent, but other than that I have no preferences for voice, just not too eccentric.

Professor Atwood has the classic dry British humor and calm demeanor.

  • I'm afraid they're turning the old girl into Swiss cheese.

  • May I present: Triceratops Horridus.

  • Fascinating, the ritual requires a blood sacrifice.

Captain Richter has a German accent, but other than that I have no preference for voice.

Captain Richter is the leader of a Nazi occult agency. He is confident and enjoys repartee with his enemies.

  •  But even two on three, your puny plant eaters are no match for our apex predators!

  • (To animal) Nein Ingrid, I think we take this one alive.

Josephine has a very mild Southern accent.

Because she's African-American, I would prefer she be played by an African-American voice talent.

Josephine used to be a singer and actress, but now she's a military leader.  She can be glamorous and playful or she can be commanding.  She also speaks French in later episodes, so someone who can speak or fake their way through some French 101 lines (e.g. "hello" "how are you?") would be good.

  • No one gets left behind, just get it fixed.

  • Together, we are Codename: Cormorant.  And we're coming for you.

  • Any respect I get is hard-earned and I'm not going to let some heartbroken Nazi mess with that.

Private Raymond "Sparks" Morgan

Sparks has a neutral to Midwestern American accent and the voice of a young man.

Sparks is a young man and his inexperience frequently shines through.

  • Is this a bad time to mention that I don't know how to swim?

  • Just like Will Rogers, except with a mooring cable instead of a lasso.

  • Hey Sarge, after the war is over, I'll help you tear down those signs.
