Cliffside Repository: Adelaide VA casting
Project Overview
Cliffside Repository is a library - and sole human establishment, for that matter - in a small pocket dimension created by a knowledge-hungry and slightly morally dubious sorceress, Zarabeth. After being significantly weakened from the process of creating her dimension, she recruited the help of a select few people from across the three different main dimensions, mostly those that had nowhere to go and nothing to lose when offered a safe, free source of housing and protection from any threats they were currently facing... All in exchange for the small price of commiting a few small acts of property theft and other insignificant crimes occasionally, and being magically bound to the Repository for the rest of their lives
This casting call is for the newest member of the Repository and main character of the series, Adelaide Hathley. After being recruited due to her family having distant ties to Zarabeth's, she now is having a bit of a hard time transitioning from simply being the weird autistic kid at school with an extremely dysfunctional family to living in a magic library with a bunch of odd people she doesn't really know. She doesn't really have any idea what's going on with her life anymore, honestly, but she's trying to make sense of it...

I am planning on making a series of animated shorts that will be posted on YouTube and TicTok. They will revolve around Adelaide's life at the Repository, including how she interacts with the new people around her, how she deals with struggles that arise and sometimes just her being silly :) If this does well I will likely call you back for more voice lines, so please only audition if you're comfortable having a long-term role.
This character does struggle with some mental health issues, so topics such as self-depreciation, social anxiety and just anxiety in general, and difficulty expressing emotions and forming relationships may arise. If you are uncomfortable with any of these topics, please do not audition.

Personality:
Adelaide is very nervous and soft-spoken when she's met with unfamiliar people and situations, but once she warms up to them she's much more confident and speaks her mind more. She loves collecting pins and displaying them on her bag, as well as researching things she finds interesting, particularly medieval European history. She's autistic so she has a hard time understanding how to interact with people 'normally' and expressing how she feels about things sometimes, but she's a kind person who cares a lot about her friends.
Voice:
I imagine she sounds kind of similar to Pomni from TDAC, except a bit younger sounding and slightly more soft-spoken.
