A story by Tatsuki Fujimoto about a boy with (not so) big dreams and a devil in his heart, and I want to make a fandub of it.
I love Chainsaw Man, it definitely holds the spot as one of my favorite all time manga. I would've never expected a manga called "Chainsaw Man" would have me feel such a rollercoaster of emotions and allow me to have such a different experience upon rereading it. I wanted to make this casting call months ago before there were other fandubs and before the anime was announced but CCC was acting up and wouldn't let me verify (thanks), better late than never I guess. But I hope that our dub will be distinct and developed into something great. This will be a non-profit project (if I could I most definitely would but a boy's not tryna get sued, plus I'm doing this as a fan of the series) and will be for fun, I also plan on making a YouTube channel devoted to this and a discord server (so don't forget to include your discords with your auditions) once we get the ball rolling.

And I am sorry for the fans of the series who really looked forward to playing Denji, I regret to inform you that I plan on voicing Denji.
Also, there is a large chance that this casting call will be updated due to the need of VAs for characters who just don't show up yet or generally smaller roles. This means that if you don't get the initial role you want and you still want to lend your voice to the project, there will be plenty of opportunities to do so.
Note: I realize that a lot of the audition lines are quite long and can be hard to do in one sitting so I encourage you to do at least 2 of the lines (unless it's Power in which you MUST include the last line)

Aki has a very stoic and mature attitude about him (I don't imagine him raising his voice to often), acting very serious when he works, however, beneath this cold, uncaring, and detached facade he is a caring individual who becomes attached fairly easily and hates to see others hurt. He is a reliable individual who will put his life on the line to accomplish a goal, his main one being to avenge his family. Also, he's a smoker if that's any help.
I imagine he has a medium-low voice that's not very expressive, more serious as a matter of fact, with a slight rasp.
[Intimidating;Threatening;Talking down to]
"The people who go into this job for shallow reasons end up dead, kid. Among my peers, the ones who became devil hunters just for money got killed by devils. All of them. The only ones still alive are those who have strong conviction."
[Wincing in pain/struggling;Determined]
"Yes, he's disgusting scum... I wouldn't blame you for stabbing him...but he's out to kill the gun devil...I can't kill the gun devil alone... To kill that thing I need as many...devil hunters with the guts to confront it...as i can get!"
[Sad;Reflective;Determined]
"Whatever happens, I want Denji and Power to survive and be happy... My brother's death was my fault. I want the strength to change things this time... Ms. Makima, I'll make a contract with any devil, please...help me..."
Power is a self absorbed, childish, greedy fiend with a loud, bombastic personality that forces your attention to her, she also uses some old-timey language like "Tis" sometimes. Her pride and ego give her a constant need to attain victories (no matter how small) and refuses to be "wrong" in any given situation, resorting to blatant lies and shifting blame in order to keep her in the "right" and ease her mind when she actually does make mistakes or even stealing other's victories and claiming them as her own.
As for her voice, I think she'd have a medium-high voice with a tomboyish attitude. When she's yelling or exclaiming (you need to be loud fr), I imagine it sounding similar to angry Princess Unikitty from the Lego Movie (odd comparison but I'm I'm looking for that guttural sort of growl from the bottom of your throat, you get what I'm saying?). I swear this is all important.
[Exclaiming;Playfully sinister]
"Tis mine! All mine!" (*insert playfully evil cackle here*)
[Initially cheery but the last sentence basically sounds like a female Hitler speech]
"If I win a Nobel Prize, humans will grovel before me! And then I'll use my Nobel Prize as a stepping stone to become Prime Minister! I WANT TO WATCH HUMANS SUFFER, SO MY FIRST ACT AS PRIME MINISTER WILL BE TO IMPLEMENT A 100% SALES TAX!!"
[Bombastic;Announcing presence;LOUD(like yell, this is the one where you gotta do that guttural yell I was talking about/this is basically make or break)]
"PUH-PUH-PUH-POWER!!"
Makima initially seems to be a sweet and kind individual until it is revealed that she is a bit more twisted than that (she makes the MC her "dog", yeah I know. Not even the cool "dawg" either). She is a manipulative and cunning individual who does what she needs to do to benefit her objective and will resort to things such as gaslighting and tempting in order to gain control.
[Kind, Calm and Soothing]
"Did you forget? You're my pet. Only answer with 'Yes' or 'Woof'. I don't need a dog who says 'No'."

"You have two choices. One, be killed by me as a devil, or two, be kept by me as a human."

"Oh no... your hands are freezing! That's no good. When you're cold physically, you end up feeling down emotionally too. Come over to my place. We'll drink some nice, warm tea together."
Pochita is just your regular old dog... with a chainsaw on his head... He is the loyal companion of Denji and helps him in his devil hunting escapades. Admittedly, this is a smaller role, however, it is a reoccurring one so you'll still be here for the long haul.
And yes this is a speaking role, I imagine his voice to kinda be like Happy from Fairy Tail or even Morgana from Persona 5 (that sort of child-like "mascot voice" if you will), this also means that this role is open to both males and females but if you wanna be THAT guy who does a super deep voice I will chuckle and I will appreciate you :)

This dude's an asshole. He's a Yakuza member (and a pretty high level one too) who passed the debt of Denji's father on to a fucking child (like, why man?) and provides less then the basic necessities for him. He is ruthless in his pursuit to make sure the debt is paid off.
He's an old guy so give him a deeper, gruff voice (and as much as I'd like to make this comedic, I do recommend taking it a bit seriously, I'm looking for a very slight Noir-type voice).
[Confronting;Threatening]
"Bastard hung himself without making this month's payment. Kid, I don't care if you beg for it or whore yourself out. Have ¥700,000 ready by tomorrow or I'll cut your corpse into pieces and sell you."
[Congratulating;Stern]
"Good job, Denji. This corpse'll fetch a hefty sum on the black market. Your reward's 400,000. Minus 170,000 for your debt and interest. Then after taking out the Finder's Fee, et cetera..."
[A tone similar to when your boss tries to lay you off nice and easy but transition to a colder, asshole-y tone]
"Denji, boy...we're grateful to you, y'know. You're obedient like a dog and you work for cheap treats like one too. Thing is... I hate dogs. Can't stand the smell."
This character actually does appear again waaayyy further into the story but I don't think he has any speaking lines then so this will probably be a one-off character too. There will also be more devil roles coming so stay tuned after this one's gone. As for a character, idk he's the bad guy of the chapter, no much to it.
Voice wise, just bring out your inner Black Ops Zombies voice (if you somehow dont know just search it up on YouTube, you'll probably find it pretty quick)

And, one very special personwill get to play a henchman who feed Denji a cigarette, so that's something I guess...
For this chapter we want henchman type voices and some zombie moans so go ham.

I cant edit for shit and even if I did edit this I wouldn't trust myself. I'm sorry that I cant pay you but please understand that I also dont want to get into some legal trouble by profiting off of another IP. We're doing this as fans (or at least I am but hopefully everyone else is) and I really hope you understand but you would make such a vital asset for the team. I don't expect you to break your back over this (if you've got stuff to do, you've got stuff to do) but I do implore you to finish your work before the deadline (which would probably be a month and some change).
Enough of me rambling, I'm looking for someone with experience or at least some know-how on editing manga/comic dubs. I'll also need sound effects and music if you can find it. I promise I will love and cherish you ;-;
