Cerberus Leash Pilot
Project Overview
SUMMARY
The legendary warrior-prophet Makith has been unearthed after 3000 years of cryogenic storage, forced to abide by the will of a plutarch and the empire they serve. Serving the clients of the aloof and malicious Seneschal, Makith is forced to encounter a galaxy that worships their image and twists the past; and to confront their mistakes and lost ambitions.
This project surrounds a covert excavation of relics on Makith’s eroded homeworld, Sarda. An archaeologist is paired with a disguised Makith to unearth relics of their people--not realizing the new occupants are quite desperate to claim it for their own. An introduction into the world of Cerberus Leash, and a discussion of land and culture as property. How well does the history inferred by archaeologists match up with reality? How do we erase the tragedies of the past to glorify bygone eras?
GENRE
This project intends on creating one single isolated story within the scope of this world through the lens of a radio play. Dialogue and narrative is structured in segmented pieces as if a viewer from this world was listening to recordings. Depending on the completion and process of this project, further installments and financial details may be discussed.
THROUGHLINE
The goal of this story is to convey the nuance of history and legends, and the necessary elements of change. Makith and their abilities stem from reincarnation and entropy, and as the main protagonist will be a character study on being denied the ability to adapt to a new world. Other characters will be more susceptible to change as a result of their presence, and more aware of the flexibility of history.
CASTING
All characters within this story are not human. As such, anyone may audition for any role; so long as they convey the character described. Genders and orientations will match the vocal choices and decisions made by the voice actor, in conjunction with character building. The following are my expectations for a member of the cast to keep in mind when submitting auditions, in order:
A convincing vocal performance.
No background noise.
A high quality USB/XLR microphone.
Files submitted as .WAV files.
Three recitations of each line.
I will be finalizing actors with a priority on performance over audio quality, but audio quality is a bonus. Any questions may be directed to my twitter direct messages.
DEADLINE
I will close the casting call on January 30th, but any submissions past that point will be considered if there are any remaining positions open.

THE DEADLINE FOR CERBERUS LEASH IS UP! Those who have submitted through email or Casting Call will be notified if they have been picked for a role or are being given a callback. But for those who missed the deadline or weren't picked, GOOD NEWS! I am extending the deadline. There are still two more roles to fill. I'm asking actors that have submitted but were not picked to submit again for these roles. I am also contacting those I want to see in future submissions; if you get a callback, it means I like your voice and want to hear you again! I am moving the deadline to FEBUARY 15TH, 11:59 PM EST. Don't just submit to try to get in--submit to make your voice heard! Even if you don't get in this time, I'll have my eyes on you for potential installments of CERBERUS LEASH and more!
Known in this age as the Prophet-Seer, Makith is out of their time and reflects on the old world they had left. A savage warrior capable of viewing possible futures, wielding entropy as their weapon.
(MEDITATION) Great Akoth, as it must be...show me the many ways, the many paths.
(SOMBER/SADDENED) No headstones, no shrines. I have no way of even finding my home. This is what they left me, Doctor--trillions of tiny little graves.
(AMUSED) You are a bad liar.
An archaeologist from the House of Bones, Lenkoh works with Makith to unearth pieces of the Prophet-Seer’s people from their home planet; not knowing who or what Makith is. A self-righteous graverobber, comedic, and coward. Doesn’t know when to shut up. Arrogant, snooty, elitist. Believes they know everything about everything, when they were likely misinformed. Gradually realizes just how little they know of the fate of Sarda and the Prophet-Seer. Will be doing the most speaking in this project.
(RESOLUTE) This cube is property of the House of Bones. This victory is what they will write of me for centuries to come!
They are almost done...and...good majesty, look at it! Missing some vertebrae and a couple of bones appear to be loose...but I think this is an ancient Rakhir (RACK-ER) wing!
Where are you getting this information from? I’m to presume some manner of desert hallucination?
A bartender living on the planet Sarda, usually a good host until someone starts causing trouble. Much more clever than most realize, finds marks for some of the hostile locals on the planet. Tired, no nonsense. Asks the right questions, loosens tongues. Clever, unchallenged in their environment.
Careful, sluu (SLOO). Never talk down to your bartender—should be a rule even from where you’re from.
Well, don’t stick around too long if you’re gonna keep that attitude. Some of the boys here are just waiting for an excuse to aim their heaters at a hapless tourist.
So what brings such an important tourist to Sarda (SAR-DA)? Hunting the motherload? You’re about 50 cycles too late.
A local with too much time on their hands and itching for a fight. Follows around Goon 2, backs them up with brute force. Croney, sidekick, aggressive. A back up dancer or hype man, at best.
(AGGRESSIVE, ANGRY) How about you speak when you’re spoken too, hmm?
(AFRAID) W-we don’t want trouble...we couldn’t have known it was you!
See any Sardans (SAR-DENS) roaming about, sluu (SLOO)? I sure don’t! They left with their almighty prophet.
A smart local of Sarda who feels entitled to take what they please. Genuinely believes to be one of the rightful owners of the planet, and will take anything found by force. Gritty, malicious, loud. Believes in the power of threat of force.
How about you stay for a while? I’m sure your friend can wait.
Tracker in the drink you had at the Lodge. Berrin’s getting good at sniffing out marks.
This planet belongs to US, now.
