Welcome to the Year 3000, everything's changed and your great, great, great granddaughters aren't doing fine. Cauterized is a musical/horror audio-drama set in a Drowned World where the ice caps have melted and those left behind have retreated into bunkers. The surface is crawling with beasts that seemed to have devolved back into their larger prehistoric counterparts. A series of solar flares on top of effects from experimental weapons used during the last great war contributed to the speed of evolution and soon the few remaining people on earth fell from the top of the food chain.
Our team sets out from their underwater base, the Galapagos Undursa, to search for other survivors. Their ship, having been incapacitated by an explosion in the judicial district, was soon to give out on them if they didn't establish a new base on the surface or find other survivors.
The only thing more numerous than the neo-dinosaurs are ancient electronics left behind. Inside them? Time capsules of a life that no longer exists: MP3 players. Explore the past through music while navigating an uncertain future.

The writer for Cauterized will work to bring the story elements, outline, and setting together into a script optimized for audio-drama. They will work directly beside the creator as second in command and will be given creative freedom over the existing story elements.

Kadin is the son of the Commanders of the Galapagos Undursa and a bit of a loner. At 28, he's already had a rough life full of responsibility and confidential secrets. He spends the time he isn't handling official business working on music. He plays guitar in a yearly ship concert, though his personal music is much less formal. His songwriting and singing aren't well known amoung the ship, though his colleague Burnice Willard is a big supporter.
Kadin has different biology for gender, but generally uses he/him. Open to male and androgynous voices. Samples of music by the voice actor are required in the the musician application along with this audition. Must have a decent, working mic.
We've already had to dock the Undursa. The pulse repellers are turned to the max because if something big swims by, the whole base is doomed. They aren't meant to run like this. They're going to go bad here in the next five years if not sooner. We have to move forward now before it's too late. We can get ahead of this, we have to.
