Casting M/F VA for 2nd Season of Sci-Fi Podcast
Project Overview
Casting several characters for season two a 6 episode fiction podcast, The Oasis Transmissions.
The story revolves around a human colony on another world, and plays out over a serious of messages from a multitude of different characters. For context, you can listen to prior episodes at the following link (or on any major podcast platform): https://the-oasis-transmissions.simplecast.com
NOTE: Each part is composed of monologues that will vary in length depending on the character. It will be critical that the voices sound natural. I’m looking for VA who can deliver an acting performance so these sound like real people talking. A full script will be provided, but I'm also looking to collaborate with my voice actors to ensure the character voice and tone feels natural.
I will record and edit in August and have the project completed by mid Sept.

A tough, ex-marine; a no-nonsense personality willing to do whatever it takes to complete his mission. Speaks with a deep voice; has the edge of a combat veteran with little patience (prefer POC).
"We’ve been waiting at the rendezvous for 48 hours now and there’s still no sign. It should’ve already been here, waiting. That’s what you had promised. That was YOUR part of the deal."
"The emergency signal from the shuttle is weak. I estimate it’ll take us at least two days on foot. That’s if another storm doesn’t slow us down. It’s further north, but the others didn’t argue. They'll be fine, especially if the cargo is there when we arrive."
"That name must’ve been the last thing running through his crazy mind before he lost it completely. Shit gives me chills just thinking about it."
Description: A resourceful operator with a wry sense of humor.
Open to different voice types and characteristics here (male/female or accents), but needs to sound NATURAL
"I don’t think I’ll ever get used to those hibernation pods. Oasis puts you asleep for four years and then expects you to wake up and land a spaceship on an alien planet? And all without a single cup of coffee?"
"Rescue needs to get here soon. Before supplies run out. Before the backup power dies. And before whatever THING that was here last night, comes back for another visit."
"[URGENTLY as ship is crashing] System just dropped! Power, scanners, shields. Everything’s rebooting now. Something’s wrong with the operating system. All the safety overrides have been blocked! Computer is refusing command codes. It’s a hell of time for a glitch!"
This character’s part will be a long, riveting story; vocal tone and quality need to be engaging and dynamic (can NOT be flat, monotonous, or nasal/grating in any way). Open to natural accents, but only if they are SUBTLE
"That’s when I saw it. One of them. It looked almost human, but very tall and very thin. Its skin was grey and its eyes were yellow. You know like a lizard’s? It stood between the trunks, no more than ten feet away. It didn’t approach me, and I didn’t run away. It looked at me. And I looked back."
"I was inside a crude cage. There were no metal bars, but a web of knobby tree branches twisted together. The cage was in a cave—no a cavern. It was massive! I didn’t know if it was day or night, but they had lit a fire for light."
"They have watched you for a long time—observed you from the shadows of the wood. They do not fear you, and would not hesitate to meet in battle. They assured me their numbers are countless. More than the trees."
