Project Overview

Captain Jeremy (Full title TBA) is a point-and-click psychological horror game, with gameplay inspired from the classic 90s adventure games such as Pajama Sam, Sam and Max, and The Secret of Monkey Island. This is a commercial game aimed for release in late 2026-early 2027 on both PC and Consoles.

I am looking for 3 additional 2D animators to join the team and help work on this project. Work is task based, and due to the project being low-budget, each task is $90-120 USD based on task complexity.

There are 3 available roles:

  • 1 Key Animator - You will be creating what is essentially the first draft of the animation. This can consist of both character and environmental animation and you will be working on either gameplay or cutscenes.

  • 2 Clean Up + Coloring Animators - You will be receiving the first draft from the Key Animators and cleaning up the animation. This consists of: Line-art, making sure characters stay on reference, adding missing details and lip-syncing, and finally shading and coloring.

Submission Requirements:

  • Explain what experience you have in 2D animation, any previous/current projects you worked on, etc.

  • Submit a viewable link to your portfolio work. This can consist of a website link, YouTube, Google Drive, etc. Please don't submit any links where I would need to download files to view your work.

  • Discord is required for communication. Please submit your Discord username with your submission.

  • Submit through this website's submission system. Submission's through private DM's won't be accepted.

General Guidelines and Information

  • You have to be 18+ to apply.

  • You will be required to sign legal paperwork. (NDA, Independent Contractor Agreement, etc)

  • Payment for the role will be through Paypal. Payment is given on completion of a given task.

  • The project mostly uses Krita but there is no restriction on animation software as long as it is able to support importing and exporting .psd files, animation frames, etc.

    As a reminder, the deadline for all submissions is Monday the 9th. Late submissions won't be accepted.

    Not providing these lower your chances of being accepted.
