Bright Story 2 - Captain Paws and The Flying Fish Crew
Project Overview
Hi Everyone. I'm working on a passion project at the moment. There isn't any budget for this project but this is the idea i'm working on. I'm working on a series of stories that can go into Audio Book format for children in hospitals to be able to scan a QR Code and listen to free of charge. Budgets are getting tighter and we'd like to encourage reading for young people.
I'm aiming for 3 stories to be up in the portal ready for roll out in March time. with potentially further stories to go there. All the stories are written for specifically this portal for children. They are vetted and checked and then uploaded. The end product is that the stories will be posted onto a web based portal for people to be able to access.
We have had another project i'm wrapping up with the last couple of voices at the moment which will get soundscaped then added to the portal.
This project has been pitched to a few UK hospitals and although there isn't a budget for it, I am awaiting further interest. We did have a UK Hospital lined up for this but sadly they have pulled out at the last minute (I am contacting Other hospitals, GP Surgeries, Outlets and wards at the moment for this to go to).
Just in terms of Roles for this I would like to keep at 18+ for actors. This is solely for releases purposes for the work to be utilised online.
Whilst there is no pay available for this role, i'm happy for you to utilise the recordings you make with me (With permission of any other parties involved) for voice reels. I hope we can create something special and unique that brings joy to people in these circumstances.
Please Note: If we find a suitable voice we reserve the right to close a role early if we feel that person fits the vision and they are happy to take on the role.
As well, Just because I know this is going to be asked there is no AI in use on this project or any project I do. I do all my own editing just to streamline the process but if you do have other skills you'd like to utilise please let me know as well. Thanks, And Happy Auditioning!

Join Captain Paws, a courageous cat, and his band of motley crewmates aboard a "pirate ship" (That's really a tiny wooden rowing boat on the canal). Together, they embark on daring adventures across the seas (Canal), encountering challenges and finding treasure.

Captain Paws (Millicent) is an older cat who has sailed the seven seas (Which really means he has sailed down the canal once or twice at the bottom of the garden). Millicent is an adventurous cat, He loves nothing more than exploring new lands.
Captain Paws was a legend on the high seas, a pirate to be feared. He loved 3 things about life. Sailing, Treasure and of course his favorite meal, Tuna fish.

Mother of the kittens. Tilly loves hearing Millicent's stories when the kittens come around to play. She's a little more timid in the way she comes across,

Tilly's Sister - Small Role - She is very similar to Tilly but Tara is a litle more outspoken. she likes to get involved in the stories for the kitten's sake but she's a little skeptical if they're true or not.

Sylvester used to be Mischief Mickey. Sylvester is past his prime at 20 years old but he still gets about like he's 10. Sylvester set the treasure hunt for the kittens to find. Sylvester and Millicent haven't seen each other in years and little does Millicent know that this is what Sylvester was planning as his welcome back to them. He saw the kittens taking with Millicent through the window and had to show them the pirate's life of adventure he once had experienced with Millicent.
Although my days of adventuring are coming to a close I am delighted to see you have a brand new flying fish crew. It has been many years since our misadventures

Molly is the first of the litter of Kittens. She has an assured sense of self and she knows a thing or 2 about the world but she is still pretty Naive. She loves listening to Uncle Paws's Stories

What are all these claw marks for?
Felix is the only Boy in a family of Girls. Yes - He's the odd one out so spends a lot of time with his uncle Millicent. Uncle Millicent is really nice to Felix and often takes him under his wing and although we don't see him much in the script he stays by his uncle's side a lot. he is Smart, Think Simon from Alvin and the chipmunks
But I like tuna too
We’re Moving, I think we might have slipped our mooring ropes
They look like arrows and Hatchings but they're all around the tree
Scared of Everything! - Astrid is a little bit of a scaredy cat (Pun Intended). She has a fear of water, Climbing Trees and generally anything outdoorsy. So this adventure definately isn't her favourite, Still, She feels safe with her Momma and Uncle Paws. She overcomes her fear of heights in the story.
OK, Uncle Paws can we still continue the story?
I’ll be ok, I want to face my fears today. I’m tired of being scared.
