Breaking Point: An Audio Drama copy
Project Overview
I’m creating an audiobook-style reading of a pivotal scene from my story, and I’m looking for voice actors to bring it to life.
It’s called “Breaking Point”
This scene follows 15-year-old Theodore Atlas, a quiet, reserved student who reaches his breaking point after years of bullying. What begins as yet another cruel encounter spirals into a brutal, explosive fight that will change him forever.
This is my first experience casting voice actors for a project like this, but I’m fully committed to making it immersive and high-quality.
If you’re cast, I’ll provide detailed direction and feedback to help you craft the best performance possible.
This is a passion project (unpaid) that will be shared as a dramatic audiobook-style reading with full character performances and narration. Still working out whether I want to add sound effects, music, etc.
Theodore Atlas (15) – Quiet, bitter, controlled—until he loses control.
Blake (16-17) – The overconfident bully who gets what’s coming to him.
Sawyer (15-16) – The manipulative, psychopathic instigator.
Leon & Damon (16-18) – Loud, cocky sidekicks who crumble when things turn.
Extras (Teachers) – Background voices reacting to the fight.
The script is already complete and ready for recording.
This is an action-heavy scene with high emotion, physical struggle, and intense moments. It does contain depictions of violence that may be unsettling for some people.
Remote recording required – just send your lines, and I’ll handle the rest.
Professional mics preferred (no headset/phone audio).
Credit will be given with your name.
If you’re interested or have any questions, send me a message! I’d love to hear your take on these characters. :D

Most of the project is narration, so this is a major role. I'm looking for someone who can convey the brutality of the scene, conveying the protagonist's emotions and pain. You don't have to read all three samples to audition—one or two is fine. You are welcome to record all three if you'd like, however!
Theodore’s fist collided with Blake’s jaw, the pent up hatred in his chest flowing through his limbs, white hot. Theodore’s eyes widened as he watched Blake straighten up, cheek swollen, lip bleeding. His black eyes revealed pure shock as he lifted a hand to his mouth and red came away on his fingertips.
Theodore thrashed violently, chest heaving, a scream building in his throat. Their constraint on him tightened and Theodore gasped. Hurt. He wanted to hurt them. He wanted to cave their faces in. To cause them as much pain as they had caused him.
Theodore turned his head in a daze to see Mr Vance, the history professor, looking at him with horror and concern. The creases in his already weathered face seemed to have deepened, and his kind grey eyes were filled with sorrowful confusion. Theodore’s throat constricted and he opened his mouth as though to explain, but nothing came. Mr Vance, who had always looked upon him with such genuine pride, now bore the expression of one who did not recognise the person in front of him.
A quiet, intelligent boy with a tightly controlled temper—until he loses control. Needs a performance that can shift from restrained to visceral fury. Despite being the main character, Theodore rarely speaks, and only has a couple lines. However, when he does speak, his voice is full of suppressed anger.
(low, threatening) “Don’t.”
(panting) “If you ever… touch me again… I will kill you.”
A cruel, overconfident bully who enjoys power over others. Thinks he’s untouchable—until he isn’t. Looking for a cocky, taunting delivery that shifts into fear when the tables turn.
(mock-sympathy) “Awww, so scared he’s shaking!”
(gleeful) “Ohohoho! The freak finally speaks! Only took a few years to break through. What’s the occasion? It’s not my birthday, is it? Maybe Christmas came early!”
(hissing) “I always knew you were sick in the head. Sick, sick freak.”
A manipulative, psychopathic instigator. Theodore once thought Sawyer was his friend—until he wasn’t. Needs a charming but eerily detached tone, like someone playing a game.
(satisfied) “Found him, fellas.”
(grinning) “Mates, I fink he’s stuck. Maybe one of his gears broke.”
(furious, bleeding from his nose) “You’ll bay for thad, freak.”
One of the backups to Blake. More bark than bite, but quick to join in when he thinks it’s safe. Looking for taunting, laughing, aggressive tones—then fear as things go wrong.
(falsely cheery) “We were lookin’ all over for you! Why didn’t you sit with us at lunch?”
(coaxing) “C’mon, answer the question.”
(pained) “You little freak! You broke my rib or something!”
Thick, heavyset young man. He's a bit slow in the head, but he doesn't need to be smart. He's just the muscle of the group. Think Crabbe and Goyle from Harry Potter.
(smug) “What’s up, freak?”
This teacher only has one line in the scene—it's a shrill exclamation of shock and horror.
“Theodore!”
Older, male history professor. Has a good relationship with Theodore, and is subsequently very shocked and disappointed to see what his student has done.
(concerned) “What on earth happened here, Theodore?”
(heavily) “Go… clean yourself in the bathroom and… spend the remainder of the school day sitting outside of the headmaster's office.”
(weary) “Please, Theodore.”
