Project Overview

Hello! This casting call is about my comic series titled Blue Flowers! 

In short, Blue Flowers is a comedy about anthropomorphic highschoolers and their times at school, the series takes a turn for the worse later on, but this casting call focuses on a scene from the early arc of the story where the main characters struggle with one of their most feared adversaries: Finals.
I plan on animating this short scene from the comic for fun, and while I have most voices already, there are still some characters that remain voiceless.

As of now, these are one time roles, and they don't have that many lines so it's no huge commitment like auditioning for a series. However, I may plan on animating more from the comic or even decide to do a comic dub, so keep in mind that if I choose you for this project I may contact you later on to ask if you'd still like to voice for the character! You can let me know prior if you think you would be interested in voicing a character long term, (this may increase your chances of getting a part) but it is not necessary.

So, to audition for these characters you must have:

1. A clear mic.
2. A means to deliver your lines and contact me (my preferred method is by email)
3. No hesitation to yell or let a lot of emotion out, this is going to be a very active scene with a lot of vocals required since it's mainly comedic. That being said some of the audition lines will be yelling to see if you can deliver those lines properly.

4. No discomfort for cursing, these characters are highschoolers after all, they like to drop the f-bomb every once in a while.

Confident and headstrong, she's the main go-getter of the group, often having a keenness on leadership. Her temper and opinions can get the best of her, but she always means well.

A mid-toned, young female voice is ideal, no particular quirks or characteristics to her voice.

  • [Confidently] Heh... Challenging exam? This is going to be easy. I've already aced the other summative assessments and I didn't even have to study. I'll just finish this and show up Marcel for trying to tell me that I couldn't.

  • [Shrieking in utter shock and horror] WH-WH-WHAT IS THIS!? WHAT? HOW!? This isn't anything like we were doing! This can't possibly be highschool level curriculum!

  • [Panicking][Thinking to herself] Come on! I have to stay focused! I'm not walking out of here to see that stupid, smug look on his face!

Lean, mean, and on debate team. He has a gruff, menacing exterior and a bad temper to back it up. He gets easily fired up, especially over politics.

His voice is ideally a bit rough and on the deeper side, be prepared to do a lot of yelling with him.

  • [A bit snappy and condescending] Most likely, I'm the smartest guy within a three hundred meter radius. 

  • [Infuriated; Yelling aloud] THIS IS BULLCRAP! WHAT THE HELL DO THEY EXPECT US TO DO WITH THIS--!? PIECE OF--!!

  • [Sneering a bit; Disgusted] No thanks, I'm not super keen on sharing space with Asshat McGee over there.

The most pragmatic of the bunch, as well as the most easily flustered. She's often the one making offhanded comments about the situation. 

Her voice is in a mid to high range, but not especially high pitched. I'm open to hearing different types of voices, but the closest fitting voice I can imagine might be something along the lines of Kagami Hiiragi from the english dub of Lucky Star.

  • [Generally
    annoyed, but playing along] This is already too complicated for my
    tastes.

  • [Lashing out] WOULD YOU CUT IT OUT!? You’re totally overreacting to this!
    Marcel isn’t going to kick you out of Roosevelt! I hardly doubt he’ll even make
    a single friend with a rotten attitude like that! [Calming down a little] You
    need to get a hold of yourself! It’s thinking like that that will feed his ego, you can’t let it bother you so much!

  • [Barking out in annoyance] Wait a second! What do you mean you studied "here and there"!? If we don't get a good grade on this, we'll have to read another stupid book! [Sighing] Honestly...
