Ashveil Light | Age: 20 | Gender: Male | Species: Grey Fox
A survivor who treats Flowerblood like his personal hunting ground. He knows how to slip through its tightest corridors, coax stubborn doors open, dodge Bloom Dust currents, and steal from the Remnants without being seen. He’s introduced as an unpredictable ally; rescuing Denver one night, robbing him blind the next. His senses are sharp enough to catch the city’s vibrations, letting him hear voices long before anyone else. He’s sarcastic, but terrified of losing what’s left of his humanity.
- male young adult
- chaotic
- Playful
- Sarcastic
(Wry, mid-heist) "You hear that? No? Good. Means we’ve got five seconds before the Remnants do."
(Quiet, vulnerable moment) "Sometimes I wonder if I’m still in here… or just another echo bouncing off the walls."
(Mocking, post-rescue) "You’re welcome, by the way. I only risked three lives and a lung to drag your sorry tail out."
Lukas Brill | Age: 39 | Gender: Female | Species: Human
A rogue machinist, exiled from the upper mechanical districts for building “illegal hybrids” (machines grafted with bone and root). Tamsin’s creations are ugly but brilliant! Clanking prosthetics, weapons, vehicles that run on a mixture of steam, sap, and blood.
She’s pragmatic and morally gray: she’ll build anything if she thinks it’ll survive longer than the city. She could help the group counter Copperfield’s market, but she’s also tempted to sell them out for her own projects.
- American Midlands
- Measured
- midlands
- unflinching
- female adult
- Gravelly
(Smug) “Copperfield pays in coin. You pay in conviction. Guess which one buys parts.”
(Quietly, to herself, watching the city burn) "Told 'em it wouldn’t last. But no one listens to the madwoman with the bone-drills."
(When asked what powers her machines) "Bit of steam, bit of sap, bit of something I’d rather not name. But it works. Mostly."
The Curator | Age: Unknown | Gender: Unknown | Species: God?
An archivist who hoards not books but memories. Their lair is an impossible library: shelves spiraling endlessly, jars of memory-fragments stacked like currency, each meticulously labeled. Their voice is calm, detached, eerily patient.
The Curator has no interest in killing Denver. They want to index him; to preserve his way of seeing inside their collection.
Flowerblood doesn’t just bloom, it remembers. The Curator decides which memories deserve permanence, and which must be erased.
- Unnerving
- disorted
- androgynous
- Hollow
- Resonant
“Flowerblood is archival. It blooms only when the past demands to be remembered.”
“I do not ask for truth. Only fidelity. The shape of your sorrow, preserved in glass.”
“This moment will be shelved beside the others. Carefully. Lovingly. Irrevocably.”
Yep, looking for extra artists in the field to help out with this project! I'm still learning a bit artwork wise!
I’m looking to collaborate with an artist (or artists!) to bring some visual ideas to life. The vibe I’m aiming for has a strong late 1990’s aesthetic.
Think bold colors, slightly grungy textures, VHS fuzz, Windows 98-style gradients, urban skate culture meets early internet graphics. A mix of playful and raw, where glossy magazine ads collide with pixel art, and old-school CD covers bleed into arcade posters.
The project isn’t fully rigid, I’d love for the artist to have freedom to experiment and inject their own style. The only real “guideline” is leaning into that turn of the millennium vibe: nostalgic, perhaps?
(Or... you can also just go with your own style, if you like! I'm not against it!)
