BLOODBORNE Short Fan Film | HUNTED | Voice and crew needed

Project Overview

This short film is based off of the famous FromSoftware game Bloodborne, about a gothic 18th century post-apocalypse where bloodthirsty beasts have taken over the metropolis of Yharnam. In the short film, Eileen The Crow is a Hunter of Hunters who hunt down other hunters who have succumbed to their beastly nature and drunk of power. One night Eileen finds a lost child in the dangerous streets of Yharnam and takes responsibility to bring the child back home whilst a powerful blood thirsty hunter is on their tail. (Story and Synopsis pending and is bound to change, but Eileen The Crow is likely to be the main focus nonetheless)

HUNTED is in fact a live action short film. When it comes to voice acting, it will be easy since most characters in this film will be masked, so dubbing over them will be simple. However, this means that we are looking for skillful voice actors who can convincingly dub over these live action shots, which needs a realistic performance as if you were acting on set.

This casting call will be frequently updated with both new roles and general updates of the project itself, so if you are interested in the short film and its process, you can follow this project :)

Eileen is an assassin and a part of a covenant whose sworn duty is to dispose of other hunters that have been corrupted by their lust for blood.

She hails from outside Yharnam and is a foreigner to the region. She makes a point of keeping a low profile operating in the shadows, and you may never meet her in the first place if you don't go out of your way to explore in the game.

Eileen is an old woman, but quite skilled nonetheless. Despite these dark times in Yharnam, she seems confident in herself, and her spirits don't seem to break much.

She is wise and a mysterious character, but she has this motherly behavior as she seems to care for the player’s safety.

Her voice (originally voiced by Jacqueline Boatswain) is soft but mature, middle to low pitch/tone, and her accent close to a Birmingham accent, for example the accent often used in "Peaky Blinders" on Netflix.

Voice example from the game

  • (From the short film script) Monologue, cold but mentally tired, slow.

"The nightmare never seems to end, even when I stopped dreaming a long time ago. The voices come every night, begging me to hunt down these poor bloodthirsty hunters lingering about under this cursed moonlight. It's hunter’s work, but it bears no honor. A burden I must carry. The nightmare must end… It has to…"

  • (dialogue from Bloodborne) Eileen just had a fight with a blood thirsty hunter, Henryk, and the player helped out in the battle. This dialogue is after they've defeated Henryk. Eileen is kind of exhausted in this scene but she stays serious and confident in herself.

(Breathing Heavily) "That wasn't necessary of ya."

    "But you have my thanks."

"We made it with our lives... You're not bad at all."

"You must have killed Gascoigne as well then."

"He was falling apart... I'm sure it had to be done."

"But try to keep your hands clean... The Hunter should hunt Beasts."

"Leave the hunting of Hunters, to me." (Laughs)

  • (dialogue from Bloodborne) Eileen is laying on the stairs of the Grand Cathedral, wounded and dying. She just had a fight with another hunter inside of the cathedral. She sounds injured and vulnerable.

    "Oh, is that you again?"

"I'm afraid I've made a bit of a blunder. I'm just going to have a short rest."

"Oh, don't worry, I've taken blood. Enough to save an old woman."

"No more dreams for me. This is my last chance."

"What a fool I am. I'll have to tread carefully."

"But that thing still lies in wait. Turn back. This is my score to settle."
