Project Overview
Determined to not fall behind her wielding classmates, Vivea, the daughter of two elite soldiers, enchants herself with the caveat that she’s basically hosting demons in her mind. Now she has powers on par with her peers at her training academy, but her newfound proficiency and zeal for the magic makes it hard for Lyssa to convince her class of her more “humane” ideas of how to deal with the xeonpir that continue to ravage their nation’s crops and people. Around when Vivea is warming up to her peers, there’s an attack on the school, the library where she had found said enchantment is lost and Lyssa is beginning to be suspicious of her roadblock personified, shifting her focus onto seeing Vivea behind bars.
I’ll say just now that if you apply, that you are 15 or older, and that you are at least conscious of schoolwork and exams as the pandemic just made everything a pain last year. Also I’m hosting this project on discord and considering using zoom for their screen sharing feature if need be.
For now, this musical idea is called Best Interests, and I’m getting to writing for it semi-frequently. It’s plot is set out and I generally know what is going to happen. However, I’ve found that it may be useful to work in a team; 1 or 2 others helping me to finish the outline for the story, but mostly write the lyrics, scripts in between, and the music. Thus I theorise that this will definitely be a long term project, possibly along the lines of 2+ years if we have weekly meetings (with exceptions for exam periods or emergencies, but I’d hope that you’d alert me prior to the meetings). I’ve made a start on 3 or 4 of the songs, however we could likely talk about redoing certain parts. When we start, I’ll go over in more detail the plot smaller details/ideas so that we are all on the same wavelength as to what I’m kind of looking for, I don’t want to suck all the fun out of it if we’re going to be working on something for so long, especially as it’s unpaid.
The goal I see for this project is at the very least, having the sheet music to a full musical. Beyond that I’d almost like to see it produced, so in the meantime I’d likely have to learn how to use a DAW (I’ve already decided on cakewalk since it’s free but I’ve not yet started) sort of like a concept album and upload that to YouTube. It looks far down the line, and I suppose that it’d be nice if we could arrange for other singers to sing the parts. Another thing to talk about.
I feel as though the schedule would end up being one hour sessions from either 7 or 8pm BST, but it would help to write what time you're available to do so. Along with perhaps past examples of your work. Or you could write your own lyrics loosely based on the small premise (maybe around 30 seconds if you’re also doing the music to it). Have fun with it if you choose to do so, I can get pretty invested in this sort of thing so it’d likely be easier if you can also become passionate about it.

In the beginning (if I haven't already decided by then) we'd likely have to figure out the ending and how what we want conveyed in each song before we actually start writing them. I'd expect you to let me know in advance if you can't make it to one of the meetings so that we can possibly work around that, let me know if it's becoming stressful but also to be invested.
So if you believe you can be transparent and also carry your load, feel free to audition.

Although I can compose, I do basically consider myself to be still learning to force myself out of what is comfortable. So you might be present in meetings when we're talking about the songs so that we can also get the melody and music down at the same time. Feel free to also audition for the songwriter role, I'd basically be doing both. The producer part is added as I don't really produce music yet, but you might be able to mix and master the songs. This could suck if we end up rewriting the songs but I suppose that could count as a demo version of the song. A roundabout way of saying that this role could be taken on later into the project.
I feel it'd be worth it to say I wouldn't want you to stress too much over the project, but if it is, that you let me know why so we can do something about it. Be that switching up the meetings to fit everyone's schedule or being lax about deadlines every now and then.
