Begin Again: A Dead Money Recreation (Fallout 4 Mod Project)

Begin Again: A Dead Money Recreation (Fallout 4 Mod Project)

Project Overview

Begin Again is a recreation of the Dead Money DLC from Fallout: New Vegas™, rebuilt within Fallout 4 as a standalone mod. The project aims to faithfully recreate the atmosphere, characters, and narrative of the original story while taking advantage of Fallout 4’s engine, visuals, and mechanics.

Players will travel to the mysterious Sierra Madre, a once-glamorous casino shrouded in danger and isolation. Guided by the manipulative Father Elijah and joined by reluctant companions, the story centers on survival, trust, and the pursuit of a legendary treasure hidden deep within the casino.

The goal is to recreate the tone, tension, and emotional weight of the original DLC while rebuilding locations, dialogue, and encounters for Fallout 4. The mod like the original Dead Money is effectively a Horror Game or a Horror DLC, so it compared to base Fallout 4 will contrast a lot. The mod focuses heavily on character performances, with Characters like Vera Keyes, Dean Domino, Christine, Dog & God, and Father Elijah.

This project is intended as a respectful recreation inspired by the original experience from Fallout: New Vegas™.

  • {Contemptuous, commanding} Are you listening? Good. From now on, when I talk, {emph}listen - and follow my instructions. Play stupid, play clever, make the mistake of saying "no?" That collar on your neck'll go off and take your head with it.

  • Yes... {Lower, dismissive, like talking about a mule} Collar 8, the FEV reject, the Super Mutant. He's docile, predictable, and provided he's not starving, should be easy to command.

  • There are damaged speakers, and shielded ones... the damaged ones you can destroy at range - don't get close, you {emph} can't switch them off like a radio

  • The Sierra Madre. {Smiles, slightly amused} Mmm... beauty, isn't she. She the one who invited you here?

  • {Disdainful} You don't just stop robbing casinos, do you? What's that tape... oh, the one with Sinclair's woman, Vera.

  • Most folks, they don't have the same drive, the same need. Not worth my time. Pretty much Ghost People before the Bomb, now Ghost People after.

a voice that closely resembles Dog and God as heard in Fallout: New Vegas™. This role requires performing two distinct personalities within the same character.

Dog should sound aggressive, unstable, and feral, with a rough and animalistic tone that reflects his violent nature, and somewhat dumb like the hulk but have a teddy bear like soft spot.

God should sound calm, controlled, and intelligent, speaking in a slower and more deliberate manner with a clear sense of restraint and authority.

Actors should be able to clearly distinguish the two personalities through tone, delivery, and emotion, while maintaining the feeling that they share the same voice To an extent, do note Dog/God suffers from DID hence the 2 personalities, and another thing to note is both personalities hate eachother.

  • Wait—stop! Don’t go in that bunker. I’m serious… whatever’s down there, it’s not something you want to wake up.

  • I’m from the Mojave… Brotherhood patrol. It was me, our Elder, and a Scribe. We were sent east on an expedition to the Commonwealth. They were chasing rumors—something about the Sierra Madre… some treasure, some signal. We went inside that bunker to investigate… and they’ve been gone ever since.

  • Look, I’m done with this place. I’m heading south… Texas, the Lone Star Wasteland. Heard there’s a group there—Spartans, they call themselves. Warriors, real organized. Sounds a lot safer than whatever’s waiting in that bunker.
