We are very excited to be getting ready to share our story, Because of You. This is a passion project that two of our directors have been working on for a year. This story is set in the My Hero Academia universe right alongside the happenings of the anime and manga with its own twists and turns and original characters.
Because of You focuses on a new foreign student from America admitted to Class 1-A, Marina Roth (seen in the casting call title picture), and a third year general studies-to-hero course student Asami Nakamura. The overarching plot is the same as the source material but with some more down-time and character development at a different pace. So you might see some familiar names and faces on our list.
We are hoping to make our own visual novel style videos on our Youtube channel as well as other filler comics in between the main story. There are a lot of mature themes in Because of You, so we ask that anybody auditioning be 16+ and comfortable with topics such as, but not limited to: strong language, LGBT+ themes, violence/abuse, implied sexual themes, and other intense situations.

Daisuke is the man with the plan, always. At least that’s what he always says. He’s very intelligent and is always thinking up strategies on the fly. He wants to become a hero more than anything, and he doesn't let the fact he was rejected by UA stop him. As the leader of Rave he has to keep his team safe from not only the villains and evil doers, he has to keep them safe from the clutches of the cops!
Calm, Cool, Collected and always ready to throw a sarcastic and slightly suggestive one liner. He’s one hell of a guy.

Amy is a happy-go-lucky, seemingly air-headed girl of short stature. She has incredibly sharp wit when it comes to making jokes and making her whole team smile. She does however occasionally drop this act to get really violent if someone messes with someone she cares about. Extremely loyal and not wanting to be left behind, there isn’t anything she wouldn’t do to keep her found family safe.

Shinji is a very laid-back and unenthusiastic guy. He likes sailing and just spending time kicking back and relaxing. He might be a little abrasive to his friends but he is fiercely loyal. Daisuke and Tori are the people he is closest with outside of his family.
His hobbies include sailing and researching all sorts of medical mysteries. He’s kind of an edgelord, but not in an overly annoying way. Not that he would care what anyone thought anyway.
Voice Description : Mid to Low range, slightly monotone but laced with sarcasm.
“My family comes from a long line of fishermen. I don’t care much for fishing, but I like manning the boat.”
“Cracking bad jokes and trying to talk people's ears off? That's charisma?”

Skylar Roth is the wife of the former Number 5 Hero in America, Wyldfire (Martin Roth) and mother to Sumner and Marina Roth. She is a psychiatrist based in Monterey, California where she and her family resided. Her goal is to be the picture perfect family even if that is far from the case. She is manipulative and ambitious, a dangerous combo for a woman of her caliber.
Skylar has Cuban heritage, so we would love to have a Hispanic VA for her if possible, but ultimately will go with the best fit. She does not have Spanish lines, so knowledge of the language is not required.
Voice Description: Mid to High range, very arrogant and important, dramatic.
“This is not how I taught you to behave!” [clicks tongue] “This is why I told you not to be a hero.. Look what it did to you. Your beautiful hair... That scar.”
“Knew him. You aren’t going back there. You have everything you need right here.”
“Nothing I can’t handle. If I could handle your father, I think I could handle a child.”
Himari is Asami’s mother. She has a normal office job and has raised her daughter practically by herself since her husband has been in and out of prison for roughly thirteen years. She tries her best to balance being supportive but cautious to keep her daughter safe.
In the process of keeping her daughter safe, she had fallen in love with the detective, Yukito Kitamura, often dealing with the messes her husband had made.
Voice Description: Mid range, sincere, a little teasing. Just overall very motherly and soothing.

“Criminals?! Asami, you aren’t sneaking around with criminals are you?”
“I just worry… If she’s being rebellious, we can’t get angry. We have to be understanding, right?”
Yukito Kitamura is a top detective among the Chiba Prefecture law enforcement. He is a diligent and hard working man, has a good head on his shoulders and tries to weigh duty with morality. His line of work has brought him at odds with the vigilante group known as Rave on numerous occasions. The leader of the group, Glitch, always escapes the detective's grasp, much to his dismay.
Kitamura is the acting step-father to Asami Nakamura. Never having started a family of his own, he has found one with the Nakamura’s. He’s as much the ‘awkward step-dad’ as you could imagine, but he tries his best.
Voice Description: Mid to Low range, authoritative, clear, but still kind.
“He’s always sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong. He’s trying to do hero work without a license.”
[playful] “10-4, backup request has been received.”
“You should… uh.. Listen to your mother.”
Hansuke Takahashi is a 14 year old girl and younger sister to Daisuke. She is a genius prodigy student who has skipped most of her middle school career and is set to graduate High School the same year as her brother. She wants to become a doctor. She's very logical, doesn't take anyone's crap, and is very mature and focused for her age. She is very thoughtful and shows kindness to others easily. She is very blunt however and will unapologetically tell you that you’re being stupid.
Voice Description: Mid to High range, young girl matter-of-fact, laid back and soft.

Tamaki is extremely shy, aloof, depressed, "intimidating", and introverted, especially around big audiences. He gets nervous very easily when talking to other people. If his anxiety gets the best of him, Tamaki will often face away and lean into a wall to hide his face from others.
In Because of You, Tamaki is a potential love interest to Asami, but ultimately his nerves and self-doubt got the better of him and it was too late. We do also require a Tamaki for our main comic dub series, so we would love to cast you in both. Please state if that is alright in your audition description.
