Bards Against Humanity - Musical Project

Bards Against Humanity - Musical Project

Project Overview

Bards Against Humanity is a small-scale D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) fan made musical based off of not only bards, but a genuine campaign. This story is a work in progress, and samples of singing voices will be taken after March 15th (the voice audition deadline) once I have narrowed down which voluenteers I would like to reach out to for a callback. This project is long term, for small snippets of original songs, or small line readings for a project. The cast now consists of one lead non-binary role, Sorrel Petrov, who may be voiced by any gender as long as you fit the role, and Daesatra De’Silva, a female lead. I appreciate all applicants!

Sorrel Petrov is a leading role in a D&D small musical “Bards Against Humanity.” He is a charismatic, silver-tongued bard with expertise in guile and poetry. He is snarky, and sometimes overly arrogant in his abilities. For voice reference, Raine Whispers from the Owl House is a good start for the type of voice I’m looking for. More male leading, but Sorrel is implied to be they/he if not fully they/them by the end of drafts.

  • (Calm, wise) My words carry meaning. My songs have weight. My notes have power

  • (Coveted Anger, Annoyed) To bash the youth for speaking lies when one is too insolent to hear the truth is a form of weakness that will be your undoing.

  • (Snarky) And you’re so high and mighty? Please.

Daesatra De’Silva is a High-Elf of her kingdom, Kestramorre. She is not as quick witted as Sorrel, but instead takes a more mundane approach to dangerous situations and charms with her looks and stature. Her instrument of choice is the Triangle. She rules with a heavy-hand, and can be quite bossy behind her coveted demeanor. For voice reference, Tigriss from Kung Fu Panda (yes, silly) is what we have in mind when looking for casting. Her voice should be mature.

  • (Stern) Cease and desist!

  • (Teasing) This is the humble chambers you reside, Petrov? Hmph.

  • (Flustered, off-guard) You are quite the…pestering type.

Icarus Callow is the head noble of “The Assembly”, a collection of Kestramorre’s finest knights and clerics. He is a supporting role in Bards Against Humanity and makes few appearances with the main cast. Icarus is set to be a semi-antagonist, with hopes for a more promising role in the story in the future depending on the outcome of this project.

  • (Antagonizing, egotistical) Identity theft is a felony warranting for a rather hefty sentencing. Surrender now and face due jurisdiction at the hands of the Noble Assembly.

  • (Prideful) Haha, alas! A worthy opponent!

  • (Charming/sarcastic) No, no, you’re awfully mistaken. I never agreed to this…I’m merely overstaying my welcome in search of a wanted criminal.

Kalliope is a half-elf Druid/Bard subclass who is 140 years old (14 in human years!). She is spunky, and a little spitfire at times. She grew up an urchin, fending for herself on the streets, and is formidable in guile. She’s charismatic and tricks others into getting what she wants, but begins to change as Sorrel “adopts” her into the main party.

  • (Sly/Passing Comment) Pfft—Well of course I have the key! I own the building after all…

  • (Angry/Crying) I…That..That ring belonged to my Mother, Sorrel. I LOST my…m-my mom’s ring to..to help YOU!

  • (Embarrassed) Okay…maybe I fibbed a bit! S-slip of the tongue?
