Project Overview
The Project
The goal of this project is to create a complete audio book of the original English translation of Bakemonogatari (Ko Ransom) by Nisoisin. Currently, there's no official audio book released which means that this will be the first audio book of the LN released in English (officially or otherwise).
Synopsis
There's a girl at their school who is always ill. She routinely arrives late, leaves early, or doesn't show up at all. She's pretty, and the boys take to whispering that she's an overprotected princess. As the self-described worst loser in her class soon finds out, they don't know just how much of a monster she is.
So begins a tale of mysterious maladies that are supernatural in origin yet deeply revealing of the human psyche, a set of case files as given to unexpected feeling as it is to irreverent humor. So begins the legendary novel that kicked off the Monogatari series, whose anime adaptations have enjoyed international popularity and critical acclaim.
Guidelines
1. This is going to be a long-term project. Make sure you're in it for the long run!
2. A decent mic quality is expected.
3. I'm not looking for those that can replicate the voices of the VAs from the anime. I'm looking for those who can portray the characters believably in their own voice. (If you're stuck on a character, the anime may provide some insight as to the general demeanor of the character, though.)
4. You don't have to be a fan of the series to audition. All are welcome!
5. As a warning, the series has a few general themes and occurrences that may be troubling for some actors. The series also contains several adult themes.

Appearance:
Senjogahara is a beautiful girl with long purple hair and blue eyes. She has a glamorous figure, although she is considered to be frail due to her lack of participation in school activities. She wears the Naoetsu Private High School uniform.
Personality:
Senjogahara possesses a sharp tongue and can be blunt while maintaining a straight face. (Deadpan) This trait makes communicating with her a daunting task. In spite of this, she's sincere in everything that she says. She's definitely got a sense of humor and a sense of genuine caring underneath the neutral, thick exterior.
She refers to herself as a Tsundere and has a dubious understanding of Otaku culture, at best. She's learned the vast majority of her social awareness from the mountains upon mountains of books that she voraciously consumes.
Background:
Though she's been in the same class as Araragi for three years, they've never once spoken. In fact, no one at Naoetsu Private High School has spoken to Senjogahara at all. She bides her time in the corner of the classroom, reading stacks upon stacks of books. That all changes one fateful morning...
"Curiosity is such a cockroach, isn't it? Flocking to precisely the secrets that people want untouched. How insufferable. You dare get on my nerves, the trifling insect that you are."
“Now then. What should I do so that you will not whisper a word of this to another soul? What should I do for my own sake, for myself? What should I do so you will swear to God in his heaven to not ever speak of my secret? How ought I seal your lips for eternity?”
“But...it’s gone on long enough. These are my feelings. My thoughts. My memories. I will take them back. I should never have lost them. Please. Please. Give me back my weight. My burden.”
Personality
Hanekawa is a Student Class President chosen by the Gods. She routinely pulls off insane academic feats like scoring a perfect 600 across all six subjects during the final exams. However, she's never stuck up about it, claiming that she only "knows what she knows." She's acts as a source of wisdom for Araragi and has the coveted position as his only friend. Despite her many qualities, she never looks down upon anybody and is an extremely caring person.
"You always make things sound so awful, Araragi. Such cynicism." (Jokingly)
"Well, boys do like girls who are prone to illness. Ugh, yuck. Filthy, filthy." (Teasingly)
"Circumstances... If a girl had any, wouldn't that be the last thing I should go around telling a boy?"
Appearance
Oshino is a middle-aged man who works as a nomadic supernatural oddity-specialist. He's a man with a lanky physique, short dyed blond hair, and blue eyes. He keeps his hair in an unruly fashion. His outfit consists of a pink Hawaiian shirt , a pair of dark-colored cargo pants, and traditional Japanese wooden sandals.
Personality
Oshino serves as Araragi's mentor. He's laid-back and somewhat eccentric at times. He generally prefers to help out in oddity-cases by giving advice and letting Araragi figure things out on his own. He's playful with a strong sense of humor.
"The character for 'crab' is made up of the ones for 'solving' and 'insect,' isn't it? It's a critter that breaks things down. Organisms that crisscross edges of water tend to fall under that rubric. What's more, those guys are - equipped with scissors, two pairs at that."
"It's a barter. A trade, equivalent exchange. Crabs are clad in armor and look durable, don't they? That's probably the idea here. Put a shell around your exterior. Preserve what's dear, enveloping it with an exoskeleton. All the while bubbling foam that vanishes right away. I won't have them."
"What a violent line of thought, Araragi. Something good happen to you?"
