They're not very well educated or particularly bright, unable to see the irony of their circumstances or how their own abduction story might reflect elsewhere in their life. The experience left them incredibly shattered, always an unwilling performer for an alien audience.

The thing about cow-tipping is,, it’s kind of not real. You go out and try it, but the first thing you realize is that the cows are usually asleep. As in, the on the ground. Nothing to tip, really.
