Audio Drama | Bloomfair
Project Overview
An audio drama based on a one act play I wrote a while ago. The characters are from the Bloomfair universe, a story written by me and some of my friends. An animated series from the same universe is in progress right now, check our instagram page @thebloomfairsupers
"The Robinsons" tells the story of... well, the Robinsons, a regular middle-class family full of anxiety and pressure from life, but united by love. One day, however, the son's boyfriend is invited over for dinner, bringing even more chaos into the house. Will they get through their differences during one normal night?

In her late 30s.
Female sounding voice.
An overthinker, anxious mother of two (and physics theorist). She's constantly worried about every aspect of her life, but despite that, she has a very lovable personality. As a concerned parent, Sue is heavy on the weed hatred, and she's always trying to pull her family together.
"Well, if you don't tell me, then I'll have to ground you, which means you won't do whatever it is that you're doing. And I'll go ask Rory what's going on, because I'm sure he's into this too."
"Did you make this suit? I don't think people sell clothes with animated eyes usually.”
"I didn't ask you to make me happy, Barb. I… I'm sorry you feel that way, I really am. I don't know what you want to hear from me."
In his late 30s.
Will is a generally nervous character, in fact, he has fainting spells whenever he sees things that overly stress him out. The type of dad to say “Come on, son, let’s play some ball!”. He’s hiding something.
Male sounding voice.
“Yes, I can. As long as you really mean it. I want to keep you safe.”
“It’s not your fault. (pause) I missed you.”
“I don’t hate you- Crispin, did you get into a fight? It’s okay. You can tell me.”
Character is 17 years old.
Crispin is Will and Sue's son. He has an insane inferiority complex and believes he’s the worst of the two twins. He has no idea what to do in life. He wants to be an artist, but he doesn’t want to disappoint his science-minded parents. Loves theatre and doing the right thing. Crispin’s gay, his boyfriend is Joey, and he has some crazy jealousy problems mixed with a bit of anger issues. Glass child.
Male sounding voice, a bit deeper than Rory's.
“I’m fine, stop flipping out on me! If I don’t do it, who will, huh? Certainly not you!”
“This is the one thing I’m good at.”
“Dude, I’ve been sharing a space with you since we were the size of peas. I know when somethings wrong because you always… (shiver of terror) use that damn 3 in 1. I gave you a whole curl routine, what happened to that?”

Character is 17 years old.
Joey is Crispin's boyfriend. He's a stoner and has trouble back home. He's chill and supportive, and he thinks he got his way with Will and Sue. Joey is a Glee fan. Sometimes, he can seem nonchalant and straightforward about his trauma, and Crispin is the only one that gets him.
Male sounding voice.
"Rory was also in the kitchen cooking as a coping mechanism, so it took me a while to get the grill."
"Oh. It's okay, we're in a safe space. As long as she doesn't talk to my mom."
(on the phone) "Mom? Are you okay? No, but you don't usually call me. I can't, I'm having dinner with Crispin's family, remember? I told you. Right. Sorry. I don't- sorry. Okay, bye. Yes, I won't forget the cigs. Bye, Mom."
