Howdy, CCC,
I'm Redthic. While I'm very new to this community, I have worked on a number of audio drama projects for the past 2 years. At the moment, I'm a producer/writer/voice actor/etc at strange N unusual productions. I wanted to try looking for some new talent here.
-The Project-
The project is called VHS or Very Horrible Stuff. Ideally we plan to release 2 big episodes and 2 mini episodes per month but that could be adjusted depending on schedules and work pace. At the moment, work would be unpaid but depending on how we do that can ideally change with Patrons and such.
Another thing I would like to eventually implement is a visual video element. Essentially, I would like to use what I’ve learned from visual novels to make a visual puppet show. However, that is a future aspect as I would need to talk to an artist to make sprites with me.
-The Story-
VHS is the story of two mages, a master and an apprentice. They delve into the weird, occult underbelly of Easton, Texas, a fictional city where weird stuff happens just out of eyesight. They will deal with everything from cryptids to thought forms to extra dimensional entities. It is a story of two friends and a very dark universe closing in on them. There will be laughs but there will be some Very Horrible Stuff as well.
Also, due to the way I’m telling the story, we will be making some in-universe commercials to either hint at a following episode, shout out friends of the show, or in the future maybe tell you to go to Adam and Eve dot com. Think late night tv.
-Requirements-
1. A good microphone and pop filter. Basically better than a headphone mic or built in one. It doesn’t have to be top of the line. I recommend something like a Audio Technica AT2005 or a Blue Snowball as they are fairly inexpensive. Feel free to reach out if you have questions on this.
2. Clean audio that is free from background noise such as fans and air conditioners. Also audio that isn’t distorted by pops, spiking, etc.
3. You can make deadlines or are in touch with me if something comes up.

Today is the last day to submit and I'll be trying to get everything relistened to and cast by next week.
Production will probably be in January but I might get scripts out early so you will have plenty of time. Idealy, the first episode will drop in March as I'm doing a lot of the production on my own.
I really appreciate everyone who submitted. If you aren't cast but really want to be a part, reach out and I'll keep you in mind of all future episodes.

Hey guys! So I've been working my way through auditions as fast as possible.
However next week looks like I'll be busy and rather than just let this audition sit with even less traffic from me (I'm sorry about how quiet I've been as of late), I'm going to extend the audition for 1 more week.
If you have any roles you wanted to audition for but didn't, go for it. If you have friends, tell them too.

Sorry about the delay. I've been hard at work writing some stuff and dealing with the election.
A majority of the parts will be smaller things for weird/funny commercials between episodes, which would be fake things used to foreshadow future episodes and to lend to the late night TV theme of the show.
Here is the thing-- Even if you get cast as a minor role, don't get cast, want to voice an addition character, I will look at people I worked with first (which would be you guys as well) since I really like people I can depend on.

This character is a cat boy parody of Inuyasha. The character tends to talk quickly and with a chip on his shoulder, always spouting off exposition like it was going out of style.
Shows how little you know! Catherine is my one and only! We have been through everything together. She saved me from myself when the evil Pucknin used the evil in my cat spirit half to turn me out of control.
(calling attack) SOUL CLAW!! HYAAA!

Catherine is a girl who is looking to move on with her life. However, her past relationships with tend to haunt her as they are mostly with powerful beings from other worlds. She is sort of embarrassed by her past but is more likely to push the results onto other people.
(delivering exposition) It was there that I learned of the Jewel of Fate and my destiny as the chosen priestess of light. It was then I met the Feline thief, Chan Kitty, who attempted to take the jewel’s power for his own in order to wipe away his sins. But soon we realized that we were on the same side, against the evil Sorcerer, Pucknin.

This character is another of Catherine's exes. This one is inspired by Bowie's role in the Labyrinth. I'd like to get a passable Bowie impression for this. As for his personality, sort of taking the creepier parts of the Goblin King and turning up the volume. He's possessive and kind of a "bro".
Don’t trifle with me, Catherine. You are mine to keep. Just as I kept the brother you neglected to rescue.

Catherine's first ex. A parody of Peter Pan who decided to try to grow up for a maturing woman but got stuck in puberty. So a lot of voice cracking for this one. Kinda a white knight character.

A reoccuring rival mage character. She tends to project a pompous arrogance unless someone gets under her skin. She's basically a classy, old school sorceress. The Dr. Strange to the main character's John Constantine.
Dibs. So, sorry. (clears throat) Please add this to what I will be purchasing.
(Calling attack name) Obsidian Spear!
(acknowledging an inferior who dared to challenge you) That’s fine. I’ll simply leave your bloody corpse here while I take the rest of the artifacts--
